  1. fuel degrades over time so might be an idea to flush the tank and put in new fuel, you should hear the pump prime when you turn on ignition that's of course provided it's fuel injected, if carb then then you'll be looking for another set of issues, get Maw to come and collect it and let him sort it for you, he is not expensive and does good work, I've had my bike here in Pattaya for over six years, if he has any issues he'll probably call me, anyway hope it all goes well

Ok I dropped by there today and he will come get the bike tomorrow.... i started the job myself and when i saw the thick brown gunk coming out of the petrol tank ( tilted it up and the brittle fuel line snapped off the nipple) i realised this is going to be a bit of work..

ive been reading on the web and apparently the newer models of the hayabusa have an internal fuel pump where as my original 99 model has the external one. all the websites seem to say the internal one is much more reliable and performs better... wonder if it would be asking too much for this guy to do that upgrade?

    lets see how we go!

  2. one thing i would suggest is to ask for the freelance car alarm guy that they call in , he is way better than the fulltime guys they have there... those guys just seem to love cutting the connectors off everything!...they ruined a set of lights i bought for my car because they decided to make the wires shorter and remove all the connectors!

freelance guy is smart and able to think logically and fix problems... i like his work.

most of other guys there are more suited to attacing chrome door handles and hello kitti stickers...which there is obviously a market for as they seem to be doing that every time i go.

  3. how long has the bike been sitting ?

If for a long time you are going to be faced with a few issues, if the fuel tank ran dry it is most likely rusted inside which will require treatment or replacement, also the fuel pump if inside the tank (usually) will have siezed and need to be replaced, fuel pressure regulator will probably need replaced also, bot familiar with you bike just mostly guessing

Its been a month since i last rode it, but usually only start it once a month and then just park it.Its a 13 year old bike with only 3000 km on the clock... I keep it on a trickle charger for the battery so there is plenty of juice but it just wont start... im guessing fuelpump / debris in the tank... pluse needs new plugs and a whole lot more...

Im going to take the tank off and try to clean it out and check what i can to see if i can get it started at least..

  4. Thanks all for the input... as the bike is in need of a bunch of things i think sending to bangkok is the best option... hayabusa is fuel injected and a bit more complicated than the average fino im guessing!

  8. if you are using gmail try this setting ... its designed to fix exactly the problem you have

If you're accessing Gmail on multiple clients through POP, Gmail's 'recent mode' makes sure that all messages are made available to each client, rather than only to the first client to access new mail.

Recent mode fetches the last 30 days of mail, regardless of whether it's been sent to another POP client already.

    Setting up 'recent mode'

In your POP client settings, replace '[email protected]' in the 'Username' or 'Email' field with 'recent:[email protected]'

Once you enable recent mode, please be sure to configure your POP client to leave messages on the server according to the instructions below:

    • Outlook or Outlook Express: on the Advanced tab, check the box next to 'Leave a copy of messages on the server.'
    • Apple Mail: on the Advanced tab, remove the check next to 'Remove copy from server after retrieving a message.'
    • Thunderbird: on the Server Settings tab, check the box next to 'Leave messages on server.'

  9. I had a similar problem where they told me they wouldnt accept my platinum card . They told me they only take gold cards, i told them i would call my bank and complain and then suddenly they agreed to accept it. Ive heard its becase they (the merchant ) pay a higher fee for accepting platinum cards ? i think its BS . All my local banks have been giving me platinum cards lately i dont think there is anything special about them.

To make the story even better i went back there 2 weeks later to buy somthing and was told if i used my citi platinum card i would get an extra 8% off ??? TIT!
