  1. c'mon! rather than giving a focus on this issue, it would be a lot better if the officials would be one and united in improving the drainage system of the country in preparation for the monsoon seasons. the country has not even fully recovered from the flooding and the post-flood reconstruction hasn't been started at all. how can these people think of Impeachment again?

I suppose if the government MPs and ministers had concentrated on dealing with the floods in the first place, there would have been no reason for impeachment ... again.

well i guess for now, yeah.. flood's gone. but what about in next monsoon seasons? have they constructed anything to improve the drainage system yet? I just don't understand.. what is their ground for impeaching the PM then?

  2. you're soooo right! i'm with you 100% :)

Why get native English teachers other than from England ? I am all for teachers speaking English if they actually teach English rather than a derivative of the English language . American English is different , so is Philippine and no doubt different again from Australia . Its all about the accent as well , pronunciation of words . I wish the Thai's luck in what they are trying to do but to start with they need someone to guide the education authority in Thailand, from the English education department in England, then maybe there is a good chance the standard will improve, if of course the students are willing to learn.

  3. To be fair, Filipino's speak very good, clear English with American accent. Also having to learn English as a second language in my opinion gives teacher better perspective on things, because unlike native speakers, the ones who had to learn it may know some ins and outs as what is crystal clear to a native speaker is not so for others.

However India, i am having trouble understanding the thinking there.

All and i mean All Indian, English speaking people i ever come across (not born in English speaking country) have a really bad accent which makes it very hard to understand. The speech is not clear and very often very confusing.

It may not sound different to a non English speaking Thai, but i am sure will make a huge different for students trying to learn the language and pronunciation.

I am a filipina myself and I wanna thank you for the compliment... :)

  4. hi Gigabyte. we are on the same boat.. been separated for 7 years now and i had my marriage in the Philippines too.. i already filed an annulment though cos it's the only way to get off the hook and be able to marry my thai boyfriend.. it will cost you much and you really have to wait cos you know how the judiciary system in the PH works. but time flies fast... and in the end, it'll be all worth the wait..i just hope ur gf's family will understand you and the system in our country. i can help you speak to them if you need a spokesperson. hehehe! :D all the best!

  5. as a law student, if i'm not mistaken, i remember that the baby can get the thai nationality due to either 1. one of the parents being thai (nationality by blood) or 2. the baby being born in thailand (nationality by birth). so, if ur man is thai..., ur daughter can, of course, acquire thai nationality.

and u can definitely get thai nationality as well by a lawful marriage to a thai man... but not sure if u will get it automatically after marriage or not :o (lucky for u, because if u were a foreign man getting married to a thai woman, u would not get thai nationality... weird law, isn't it :D )

i'll try to find the answers for ur other questions and will post them here very soon.

hi oan! how are you? thanks much for making time to answer my query.. you see , my daughter is illegitimate since I am not married to her father.. can she still acquire the thai nationality even if i'm not married to her father who apparently is a thai national? would there be any chance for me to stay in Thailand for humanitarian reasons :D since my baby is a daughter of a thai national? pls. help cos this is really making me nuts! :D you see, i don't wanna just test the waters.. i want that if and when i decided to go to thailand and stay with my man, i want to be equipped with the knowledge and prepared on the things that i'm supposed to do.. i don't wanna violate any law.. so as early as now, i wanna know how and what to do.. thanks! hopin' to hear from you again..

  6. hi! i am posting on this forum so as to gain some insights and help from those people who are knowledgeable enough to advise me on what's the best thing to do.. I am from the Philippines and I'm separated.. i'm an overseas contract worker in italy and have met a very loving thai partner from whom i have a daughter..

now, my partner is in Thailand because his contract with his employer here in Milan is finished. and he wanted me to go to thailand and probably if we can, stay there as a family...

my question is this... how is it possible for me to stay in Thailand with him? what type of visa can i apply? can my baby acquire a thai nationality considering that i am not married to his thai father? i am really desperate for answers.. :o i love the guy so much and i'm willing to do everything so as for our family to be together.. the annulment procedure of my first marriage is still ongoing and that is the very reason why i can't wed my partner right now.. and i'm looking forward to that day when we can be together as one.. :D if and when, my baby will be honored of a thai nationality, would it carry me as well being the mother? would i be allowed to stay in thailand? :D

i hope you guys understand.. thanks so much.. i'm eager to know what you guys will have to say about my case.. thanks and God Bless everyone!
