  1. I am sorry for the lack of crucial information in my original post. biggrin.gif I have been in Thailand too long. My wife laughed t me about the post and said I am starting to communicate like I'm Thai. Giving information but leaving out the most important points. And giving information not in the proper chronological order............. 55555555555555

  2. Good thing you had lots of fuel.

    What was everyone looking at?

There is some construction going on with the Toll Gate. There were men working that night. So everyone had to supervise the men working by watching them instead of driving. This along with about 10 cm of water in the 2 outer lanes was causing a crazy mix of paranoia and nosiness.

  3. We hit this wall of vehicles at 18:00 yesterday about 3 Kilometers from the Toll Gate on the inbound side of the Eastern Outer Ring Road near Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok at Thanyaburi. It took 8 hours to reach the Toll Gate to find out the main reason everyone was slowing down is to see what was going on....... We call it Rubber Necking in the states. Do the math guys. Start at 18:00 Friday afternoon plus 8 hours equals 2:00 in the morning finally getting through the jam blink.gifThank goodness it was dark and somewhat cool.

  4. From what I have read, he entered Thailand on a NON-B the expires on15 December 2011. He signed an employment contract that expires 31 March 2012 and obtained a work permit that expires on the same date. As Mario pointed out, the visa and work permit are no longer tied together so his permission to stay in Thailand expires on 15 December unless he has extended his visa already, which I doubt, and has a stamp in his passport extending his stay until 31 March 2012. If he does not, on 16 December he will be on "overstay" and fined 500 baht per day (20000 baht maximum). He needs to get the paperwork from his employer and go to immigrationn and entend his stay. They will give him until 31 March2012, the expiration date of his work permit.

To OP: If you do not have a stamp in your passport extending your stay until 31 March 2012, get the paperwork from your employer and apply for an extension before 15 December 2011! Otherwise it could get expensive real fast!

RELAX!!! You must have your Visa extended to the end of the Work Permit date within 7 days of Work Permit issue.

are you sure about this ?????????

    Very accurate information.......... Great post!!

  5. The truth of the matter is: You are damned if you do and you are damned if you don't. Sorry for the gruel response but this is my understanding after being in Thailand for several years. Being a female in this culture or society makes you a second class gender. Adding in the fact that you are a foreigner only diminishes the chance any Thai will listen to you or even take you seriously.

You original post as received some interesting responses. Most are honest and sincere. Some very much need to be disregarded as frivolous. I wish you the best and I feel better scenery from the window of a different school would ease your heart. Please understand not all schools, students, or administration are the same.

  6. BKK-Saraburi/Ayutthaya and onwards

Yesterday drove the only available highway #1 to Bang Pa In intersection through Pathumthani

First hick-up was the Loy Krathong? traffic to the river on #9 than a good drive to Rangsit

where the traffic jam started at Future Park.

Took me 1,5 hour to get onto the normal road which was blocked and elevated with earth

Arrived in Ayutthaya in 3 hours, highway #32 was clear I understand there are some puddles towards Nakon Sawan

Still a lot of water at the side

Is #9 direction Ban Pa In from BKK clear already?

We tried heading North today on Motorway #9 from Seri Thai Road. The Motorway was blocked at Fashion Island but the exit is open to go off and right back on again blink.gif We went all the way past Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok almost to Khlong Luang 3214 . The police made us U-Turn here because small cars are not allowed past their road block. I asked if it is possible for us to make it to Highway 1. They said they don't know the situation past their road block so it is best to U-Turn laugh.gif

  7. hopefully better than Hopkins and Mayweather's recent fights....Hopkins was robbed, Floyd was going to win anyhow, but sad he ended up taking it in that manner (not that I blame him).

Need Pacman to win this one...to set up the best Asian fighter probably ever, against the best defensive master ever (equal best IMHO with Sweet Pea).....if only they can come to an agreement on a 3 fight rubber; the highest paying series of fights perhaps in the history of the sport.

    I can dream right??!

While you are at it............. Dream that The Pac Man will allow himself to be drug tested this time. Unless he has something to fear wink.gif

  8. We visited so many Honda, Mazda, Toyota and Nissan dealers that I had to actually keep a journal to remember the details. We accidentally stumbled upon a Nissan dealer on the North end of Phahon Yothin past the Royal Thai Air Force. My wife and I were treated with kindness and respect by Siam Nissan Mahanakorn near Phahon Yothin 25. May, the salesperson, along with the Finance Manager, Sukit, and Nok, the Bank Representative did there absolute best to speak clear and understandable English. (They did not, I repeat they did not, play the speak Thai to her and English to him game.)

I made it clear to them we only wanted the least expensive Nissan March model with manual transmission. We were told by every dealer it would take more than one month but they could not be sure. After having this same conversation with May on Sunday she looked me in the eye and said no problem. We can have the car two days after your finance is approved with the bank. She said that would be Wednesday and the car will be ready Friday at 17:00. We get a call from May on Wednesday saying that everything is approved and the car will be ready at 15:00, not 17:00, on Friday.

We arrive at 15:00 on Friday as planned. The car was ready and waiting for us in the staging area. May, the salesperson, and Raywat, the Service Manager, spoke English to us and went over every detail about the car, the warranty and the maintenance schedule. They made sure both my wife and I understand everything. They even asked permission to explain a couple of things in Thai to my wife that she did not fully understand.

We can whole heartedly recommend May and the guys at Siam Nissan Mahanakorn. I will keep you posted on our future experiences with the service team.

Can you tell us which model you bought (base model??) and for how much?

Paid 380,000 for the Black Nissan March S-MT.......... My FREE choices were floor mats, window film, exhaust finishing tip and wax. You can choose anything free up to 1% of the amount of the car. (380,000 x .01= 3,800) The 1st Class insurance was 12,500 Baht. Adding in Registration, Road Tax and 3000 Baht Red Plate Refundable Deposit the grand total including insurance was 19,000 Baht.

I called the number given for this dealership and I received a message that the number was not in service. Closed due to the floods?

The Nissan dealership in Pattaya told me the wait for a new car, March and Almera, would be a least three months. Very surprised to hear that this dealership can deliver this car in two days. Any idea why this dealship has cars and the other Nissan dealerships have no cars?

I know they ordered the car. The sales manager brought us to his office and showed us he was ordering the car after we paid the 5,000 Baht deposit. We picked up our car 2 days before their area was flooded.
