Just can not go to a complete Muslim country. Extremism scares me. I've read posts that its a great country, and posts with cute guys, but I just know, they would find a way to kick my butt.

Actually a smart move. Perception is very important. In past posts, many westerner's complained about 'Martial Law'. Take that away, and most people/tourist including some governments, perception will become less negative. Just saying.....

"Doesn’t their country teach the concept of manners?”
No , they don't
Actually they do, but just like farang, trailer park trash are just not included in learning these manner's. Remember low caste/class is just what it is. They just do what they are brought up to do.

Thiland is one of the few countries that do not require 6 month validity upon entry, it only has to be valid for the corrent permission to stay She should be okay. If she has a problem at checkin ask to speak to the suorvisor and have them check the IATA regulations. Hope she has a re-entry permit otherwise her retirement extension will be invalid and she will only get a 30 day visa exempt entry.
Not sure if your correct wayned. Got this quote:
To enter Thailand, a passport valid for six months is required by all nationals referred to in the chart above.

It's the yellow dems that have to figure something out not the PTP..
The PTP are the true government elected by the people and hold an election today or in one year they will walk in.
There will be a huge payback at the next poll.
It's attitudes like this that keep Thailand and its people from working together for the common good of all Thai's. I wish Thailand as a whole peace and prosperity in the future.

Before the top end of town start going gaga and frothing at the mouth with glee , put this proposal to the people in a referendum , don't just decide we know what's good for you , there is enough of that already , go to the people.
Until the man with no name removes himself from the political scene, going to the people to determine the government would be a waste of time. Because no matter who wins, there would be aftershock demonstrations, protests and violence from both sides following the elections. Thailand is currently calm and peaceful again. Most day to day people really don't care what the government does, they just want to live their lives an support their families.
-
Once you can get the corruption out of the election (paying for votes) and stabilize the government as a whole and get rid of the violence that occurs, then I think it would be a good time to allow the quote (people) elect the PM.

I'm sorry but all these foreigner's that join are traitor's to their own countries and the rest of the world. You made you decision and your families would share the blame. No matter what country Muslims go to they want to take over. They demand to have their rules apply. Stay in the middle east and leave the rest of the world alone.

I think Prayuth has overlooked a minor obstacle in his wish to have lese majesty offenders sent home.
Most of the countries he is adressing, believe in old fashion freedom of speech!!
Freedom of speech has its limits though. Example: No yelling 'Fire' in a crowded public place or yelling 'Hijack' on an airplane. And most countries believe in the 'Rule of Law'. Most citizens of these countries do not get to pick and choose which laws they want to obey. Just food for thought.

If they spent more time actioning real policies that genuinely stimulated investment, and less time spouting propaganda and launching purges against certain groups, the economy might be performing better.
As usual there is nothing of substance to his speech, no detail, just the usual promise "things will get better so stick with me."
The honeymoon is over Prayuth, you need to start delivering.
Like any other nation in the world is doing better. Stop being such a nay sayer.

You have to admit, the taxi driver speaks the truth. Just saw a post where a farang was complaining about a 100 baht fare. Really.

I hope the Russian at least gave the driver a little something.

I'm sure the drunk nice man was just sitting there being very quiet and respectful to the officers.
That mean macho officer should have gone on a coffee break and let the family of the school girl he injured, and the owners of the 6 cars he hit, all have a nice conversation with the gentleman. I'm sure they could have worked something out.

My President, stand up to these old white men, from McConnell, Bohnier and the Koch Brother's. I hate that political democrat's did not stand up for you. You need to show that yes you were a great man who had principles, and history will stand behind you. I am from old school, and I am an American who believes in America. I respect the system, not the parties. Act alone, and you will be remembered as a true American.
-
And this has to do with Thailand? Why? Watch their football games and you can see more violence.
-
Thailand will collapse from within. Thai people as a whole are a good culture and people, however just like any other country it will not fall apart from outside opinions, but from within. Outside influences only care about how cheap it can be to do business in Thailand, they care nothing really about internal affairs, well maybe except the US. But they just doing this for show. Maybe it would be great just for everyone to take care of their own problems, and let individual countries manage their own problems.

This is probably the best post I've ever seen in all sites I've been on since 98'. It's insightful and just say things that are straight forward. I have not yet read all three pages, but like what I've seen so far. Thanks.

I can guess what happened,
She grabbed a knife and tried to stab him, he grabbed her arm and twisted to make her drop the knife.
How do I know, been there and played that game with two different Thai ladies.
(and so has a surprising number of other foreign guys I have met)
PS
Even more fun when they grab a machete!
Number of foreign guys I have seen swing a knife = ZERO
Number of Thais (male and female) I have seen swing a knife = TOO MANY
Oh yes farang are always so innocent. What she should have done was waited to he was asleep and cut off his you know what. LOL. Just being sarcastic.

The simplistic answer of just don't buy from these kids given by many of poster's here, to get rid of this problem does not take into account what will happen to the kids themselves.
If they do not meet a quota, the people that make them do this will starve, beat or even kill them. The mentality of these people is if the kids can't produce, why keep them. I myself do not have an answer on how to solve this problem, however keep in mind the welfare of the kid's themselves.
It's not their fault, they are poor or sold into this business by their parents.

I'm sure this can happen and would follow the advice of some of the posters here, however, I'd be a little scared of counting my money out in the open also. Hate to let some person see how much I've withdrawn.

Every time I see an article like this I ask why are stupid people carrying around this much on their person. What type of intelligent person would do this?

Even in America, it appears all these so called citizens of various nation's have Islamic names. Time to put 2 and 2 together and do something about these people. No mental deficiencies do not cut it for a defense.
