Where is the closest store to the southern border that sell macbooks and macbook chargers in south thailand? I'm in kota bharu on the eastern malaysian side of the border and can't find any stores that sell them. My charger got fried by a power surge (laptop wasn't connected fortunately) so I really need to buy a new one. A google search didn't reveal anything in kota bahru and going to several malls and stores didn't get anything. None of the locals seem to know either.

I want to buy an extra stick for my laptop. Where would be the cheapest place to buy one? In North America, there are stores like NCIX and Newegg where you could get very good prices for various computer parts.

Can you get landline internet from anybody but true? I'm only staying in thailand for a few months and it seems like landline internet is the only reliable way to get it for me. Thing is that true requires a 1 year phone line contract too so is there any way to avoid it or someone else that doesn't require a year?

The nice thing about thailand is that the junk food is more expensive than the native thai food from street vendors. Tasty, quicker than mcdonalds back home, healthier and cheaper, (not to mention it doesn't make you feel sick after eating it) it's a major reason why I'm here!

I want to purchase a set of prescription sunglasses while I'm here in Bangkok. Some casual browsing around had me very surprised at the prices. Online at a place like zenni optical I could get a memory titanium frame with a high prescription and a tint for $35/40 USD (1000 Baht) here the frames seem to start at US prices. Is there anywhere in Bangkok that sells for those prices? I don't care about brand name frames.

I'm thinking of going to Koh Tao soon for scuba diving, and was wondering how accessible internet for people with their own laptop and how fast/consistent is it? Do you have to use true and get a landline for a year if you just want to rent out a bungalow for a month or two? If the internet is accessible there then I could stay there longer.

I went over my 3G bandwidth allocation of 1GB, but I can't seem to get any more from True. There doesn't seem to be any to purchase or anything like that when I tried going to a true store. I currently have the iPack plan. Any idea how one could up their bandwidth allocation?

I'm thinking bangkok. It would be for business for doing remote programming work and what not.
Also how are the prices for electricity & water there? I know cell phones are very affordable.
And how much will water filtration cost? Do you have to worry about it there with showering and washing dishes & such?

What kind of connections can you get in thailand? What is the price, what is the speed, what are the bandwidth limits? Is it any good? Or is it slow & unreliable? Also how expensive is water & electricity in thailand?

If you only eat som tam and log 600 calories / 1.5 hours on the eliptical at an easy pace (trust me this is as easy as walking) you'll drop fast. My girlfriend did that Jesus, your in thailand, land of cheap diet food. It's easy to eat right here!
Cheapest Way To Ship From Thailand To Canada?

What is the cheapest way to ship from thailand to canada? I got a textbook purchased & shipped on ebay for $45 USD by fedex from bangkok, but inputing something identical in weight and size gives me a rate quote of 2500 THB, which is about $70 USD O_o. I want a friend of mine to ship a few things from thailand, and it wont be ridiculous amount of stuff that I would start looking at marine containers. I don't really care about the time it takes, just that it gets here eventually.
