Thanks for all the replies.
The taxi in the early morning will be from BKK to airport as my wife needs to go 'home' for a day so I will look for a taxi that night and get a number to collect her. I may even ask whoever takes us from the airport to the hotel if they are good to save a headache.
The hotel wants 2000baht to make the trip! I think not. I don't mind paying over teh odds at that time of the morning fro a decent driver but 2000bht is a tad expensive for a 20/30 min trip.
maybe - I might treat her - thinking about it - no!

I booked a room at teh Novotel Siam Sq a couple fo days ago as I saw they were doing 'deals'.
I thought it may have been a way of selling rooms quickly and the deals would continue.
I just checked thi smorning an dthe same rooms that I have booked in both Bangkok and Pattaya have doubled in price.
Lucky I took the chance I think!
Looking forward to a nice break now in August. A little sightseeing, plenty of swimming with my child, sand everywhere, late nights, tired mornings, spicey food and a thoroughly good relax.
Let's hope the sun is shining and the waters warm as I am sure it will be.
Eva Air seats prebooked and had a deal on these too.
up, up and away in a month.

Thank you for your reply.
It looks good, with a nice pool for my child.
We know Pattaya well but not this hotel. My wife is Thai and we are looking forward to a break, We usually spend our days at Jomtien beach so our child can play/dig and get wet!!
Thanks again.

Good afternoon from the hot UK!
Does anyone have any experience with teh All Seasons Hotel please?
Has anyone stayed there?
Thank you.

Do not use Rosegate.
I know of him from teh UK where he was a taxi/driver come skivvy.
He tells everyone he had a business in London of which he didn't.
He is not to be trusted, although I am sure he has some pleased customers. He is a complete P%^*&.
Use him if you dare.

Does anyone know how much a taxi will cost from/to Siam Sq from /to Swamp Airport?
Taxi meter is fine?
Any 'guestimates'? I reckon 300bt. My wife reckons 800bt!
Also, might as well ask, how long will teh ride be at 0500hrs weekdays morning from Siam Sq to teh airport (swampy)?
Cheers.

My mates wife has also been emailing them (a couple of times) regarding a refund but no reply. A good service when they want your money but when they need to refund well below par it seems. I hope they receive it soon as they will be in Thailand in 2/3 weeks and my mate will go and front them out! I said better to let his wife liaise with them but if they don't reply to her he will take the lead.

some very cheap deal but unfortunately not on when i am there in August or we would have made a cheap trip to Udon.
Cheap anyway but cheaper is always better!

Good price.
The flighst I booked were £2400 back in April 2009 as they are in the summer holds for the kids. I looked early this morning as soon as I got into work and hey presto the cheap seats were there. Just checked again for my samem dates an dback up to £2350! I guess I was lucky!
The whole family is looking foward to it.
Have a good time in October.

Hi all
If you are looking fro a cheap flight in July/August then today (now) Net Flighst has then with EVA Air (direct) I have just booked 2 adults for £940 inc taxes.
If I left it 2 weeks later I could've booked it for even cheapoer but I need to work then.
Great deal which i am sure won't last long.

Hi All
Maybe over at the beginning of August for 2 weeks. Anyone know what the weather is like annually at this time? (no I know you can't see into the future!!)
Is it the rainy season or sunny with rain etc. etc.
Thanks.

Thank you. I have read teh attachement and it is very helpful. It sounds as if teh ceremony will take place very soon and it will all be over with.
Regards.

Thanks Neverdie (apt name for this topic!).
So it may well be over very soon and I can then make a donation to teh Wat. How about 'bones' ceromony? I am not sure about this as if cremated the bones will be gone too.
Intersted to know more about this as they are obviously different types of ways to do things.
Anyway, thanks again.

Dear All
My wife has had a death in the family ( honestly)!
We live in the UK and I wanted to find out about Thai funerals etc.
The family member is in Issarn and so a poorer part fo the although there was life insurance.
I remember that a Thai is put in a concrete above ground coffin and then about a year or so later the bones are extracted and a ceromony is had with teh monks etc.
Is this the case? i am no expert on Thai funerals and my wife is not in the frame of mind to discuss at present.
Just a note, we are not being asked for millions of baht to pay for a funeral or any money for that matter ( I wouldn't pay anyway) but I just want to know the process and costs as i may want to make a donation toward the funeral.
So, in a nutshell, what is the process and what is the general cost now on death in issarn and when the bones are extracted and how long before they are extracted?
Thanks to everyone in advance.

Cheers. It sounds like Dream is the place for me.

My wife in the UK uses cucumber as someone has already stated. It's good and tasty. I am not sure where the poster lives but in the UK papaya for som tam is also really expensive.
-
Thanks again.
Le Fenix is out!
Looks like it will be the Dream.
-
Ok, Thx Akorn. I might give it a try.
Or I have sen the LeFenix on the web also, looks nice as well.
any comments?
-
Thanks everyone for yoru replies.
I will also look at The Fenix to see how it looks and what price they charge.
I received an email from the Dram Hotel regarding their prices and they quoted 3500bt oper night inc taxes and breakfast. Not bad as on other websites - direct rooms etc. they are quoting over 4000bt which I wil not pay.
Anyway, thank to everyone again.

mmm... another joker without a job!!!!

ESOL level 3 is what she needs to complete. Unless she can pass the Britishness test (but if she can why is she doing the ESOL) then the ESOL level 1, 2 & 3 will incorporate what she needs to pass at each level.
She CANNOT apply by completing ESOL level 2 and I say save yoru money or you will lose it if you do this as she will not qualify or satisfy all of the criteria.
ESOL 3 or pass the 'britishness' test my friend.

Hello
I will be in BKK in September and wanted to stay at the Dream Hotel in Suk.
Has anyone stayed there? Any thoughts?
It is alot cheaper to book with them direct then with agencies also.
Thanks everyone.

The y seem to be good. Clean and pleasant.
Not stayed at the Pattaya All Seasons before but I'll report back late Auguest. As long as it is clean and respectable it will be fine for us.
