Once  in a hotel i wanted to order some room service but there was 2 phone numbers, so i called the first one and said "i want to order" but they hung up on me.

So i called the other number and ordered some food.

Only a minute later there was a knock on the door and i thought well that was quick! When i opened the door there was someone there with 2 bottles of water and he said to me "you want two water?'

At 44 i decided to retire and as i had been to Thailand many times before, i decided to use Bangkok as a base to explore other places to retire.

I went to Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Korea, Phillipines, Indonesia and even Panama. Could not find anything as good as Thailand so am still here since 2007.

i am on my 5th beer in my room now and still no sign of covid !

As for all the complaints about who owns it, where it is based and members fears for their personal information. Well it just means there is now space for a new Thailand  centric competitor website if someone is willing to set one up.

@BMW Overlander That sounds great. How long did the TE process take (i.e. from contacting them for the renewal until receipt of the confirmation letter) ? Did TE or Immigration ask for the TM30 receipt ?

 

@RachaRob Did you expierence this recently, e.g. in the last 6 months or before ?

It took around a month to do, they did say if i had renewed it before expiry then i would have taken a week. No TM30 was asked for.

I was about 2 months into the 6 th year and i had to fly out and back in before i got a renewal.

Heard a rumour that a few cases of corona have been found around the Sukhumvit area now.

Been renting in my condo in Bangkok for nearly 3 years and went to change my room in the same condo and had to get a doctors certificate to lease the new room. This was 5 days ago.
