  1. I have been thinking about getting a Dtracker 250. But I saw a supermoto version of the Yamaha WR155 and think it looks like a cool light bike for commuting through Bangkok and  a little bit of light trail fun. It's obviously a bit less powerful than the 250 Dtracker, but I'm just looking for fun and don't care about going over 120kn/hour. Anyone got any expereince of the 2 bikes?

  2. Thinking of getting a Corolla Cross as it looks like a practical all round car. Any one got one, or want to share their thoughts?

Also considering a Subaru Forrester or CX30. The CX30 is probably the best to drive but least practical.I like the size and 4WD of the Forrester. But the Corolla cross seems to have decent space, plus it would be good to have a hybrid.

  3. Thanks for the replies. More Subarus are appearing on the road and they do seem practical for Thailand. We have been very lucky with the Pajero, it's doen 120,000km with very minor problems in that time and  the dealer and service centre has been brilliant. Might end up keeping it and swapping the small car for the Forester. Subaru's seem to be built well and a 4wd station wagon would be versatile.

  4. I am interested to know any experiences with the latest Subaru Forester. I am interested in getting one as a replacement for a Pajero Sport. It seems to be a good practical car for Thailand. Also wondering about the after sales support and servicing etc around Bangkok.

  5. They have cracks in so its not wear. I will post a picture later. Mazda said they need replacing when it was serviced several weeks ago. It's mainly my wife driving so its treated well.

  6. Hi. I had a crash on my CBR 150 and slid along Petchburi Rd at about 60kmh. Thankfully my jacket and kevlar jeans meant only bruising. I ws wondering if the jeans should still be good to wear. They have no visible tears in the kevlar although the jeans have black slide marks.

  7. Hi. Our Mazda 2 is only 2 1/2 years old and has 14 000 km on the clock yet the stock tires need replacing. Piss poor really. Has anyone else had the same experience? Any recommendations for a good replacement brand?

  8. Hi

I am about to commence the hunt for a house or apartment in the Sukhumvit area. I have ben looking at many real estate and other websites and have viewed a lot of houses online. I was curious to know what sort of reduction is the norm from the advertised monthly rental rate. My budget is to a maximum of B50 000 per month, given the current economic slowdown do you think it is possible to get something that is advertised for a lot more?

  9. Hi

I am about to apply for a non-immigrant b visa at the Thai embassy in Beijing. However, i have just noticed that I have to submit a copy of a ticket for a return flight. I thought that as I was going to be on that visa type that i would only need a one way ticket? Can anyone confirm to me that i need a return ticket?

    Thanks

  10. Another vote for Asics, the best without a doubt. I have run 20 marathons, the first few in Nike, the next several in Adidas, and the last 14 or so in Asics. Asics are by far the most comfortable and the ones most recommended by podiatrists. I used to have problems with blisters but not since i have worn Asics.

I ran the Great Wall marathon in China last weekend, while struggling up the wall in the final section i looked at the shoes people were wearing, about 70% of the runners were in Asics. Most of these peole are very dedicated runners so i think the proliferation of Asic shoes speaks volumes.
