  1. Rules to remember when two vessels meet

When two power-driven vessels are in crossing situation on a collision course, give way to the vessel to starboard (right). The give way vessel must take early and obvious action to avoid a collision by either stopping or altering course to starboard.
As the damage on the speed boat is on the port  side of the hull , he came to starboard  of the yacht. Normally it was the  yacht that should have taken action to avoid the collision.

  2. 2 friends rented big Honda bikes for One week in Pattaya, Beach Road. When they dripped the bikes, the man who run the shop didn't give the guarantee back, for the two bikes (8000 THB) as he pretend that a plastic cover was missing on one of the bikes... The black one... Looks like this story happens often, as the neighbour, who also run a rent a bike shop, ask to my friends , laughing, "problems with the bikes? With the black one?

if you want to rent a bike from this guy, do not forget to take photos from the bike, or you will loose the guarantee......

  3. This morning, I went to the immigration office in Khon Kaen to apply for visa extension based on wedding with Thai national (my wife since 8 years). Before I went there , I checked on this website and on the official immigration website what documents and copys are necessary and I prepare all the documents required.

One female employee checked again all the documents and give us a few more to fill, in Thai. When they where completed, we take a ticket for queue, and when the officer start to look at or papers, after a while, he ask us the forms from 2 witnesses to testify that we really live together on the given address.

When my wife answer that we do not have this forms, he explain us that if we give put some i money in a envelop, everything will be OK. So we give him 500 TBH, but as we do not have an envelop, my wife fold the note several times, and give him discretely. He look surprised, play with the money in his hands, and smiling say that this is only very few money for a falang who has pension more than 50000 THB... So he keep the money, but say we have to go to or village to find two witnesses, and ask the desk to give us two applications that the witnesses must fill, and join a copy from them ID cart and house book.

In the list of the documents needed for the visa extension I never find out that they also need witnesses; By the way, we went back to our village, and after we found 2 witnesses, we get back to the immigration office. So after a few time, the officer in question made a receipt for the fee, (1900 THB) as I give him 2000 THB, he says that it is a normal practice that he do not have to give change back....

Does somebody else had the same experience in a immigration office from Khon Kaen or from another place? Did you knew that you have to find 2 witnesses for testify where you are living?

  4. Good morning,

My house in Isaan is powered only by solar and a wind turbine when the weather is cloudy.

    I have 4 x 80 W panels on a Etatrack 400 for pumping water with a Lorentz PS 150c deep well pump (lift 22 m, 5m³/ hour max) with 2x batteries 100A

Also 4 x 120 W panels on a Etatrack 400 and a 2000W windturbine for electric supply for the house, withe 4 x 130A batteries. The house is very good isolated, dubbel walls, and White roofing. I put Radiant cooling mats in some walls, but they are not connected yet, because I'm looking for a water/ water cooling system, because the water from the well is about 27°C in hot season, I should have about 20 °. Normally the water from the well should go trough the Radiant coolig mats in the walls before irigate the garden. The wind turbine works nearly each day, minimum 2 or 3 hours...., sometimes even at night...
