  1. YSS shock absorbers for Harley Davidson Softail, HD part no. 54508-00, YSS part no. RT306-220T-02 have a design or manufacturing defect. The connection between the shock absorber and the mounting point is too weak. After only 10,000 km, the eyelet is so bent that the high-strength threaded bolt is breaking off, or at risk of breaking off. If the second bolt also breaks after just a few km, an accident is inevitable, and could even be fatal. If you have installed such a YSS shock absorber, check it and replace it with a different brand if necessary.
