  1. I have been watching this storm steadily creep West/N.W. the last couple days in Google Earth. It looks like it is about here.........:jap:

    post-3361-013575000 1282657651_thumb.jpg

 And not a thing heard from thr Green Loonies and climate change yobbo's who 6 months ago were bemoaning Thailand's droughts

Ahh, wouldn't want to disappoint you Crusty. The El Nino that generates rains for California and hot dry weather from here to Australia is a cyclical pattern. It was forecast to and has indeed been breaking up since early August. (see time lapse graphic at http://www.elnino.noaa.gov/) Don't think any equatorial region lives long with the strong sun unless there are sufficient forests to protect the soils from baking dry in the dry seasons or eroding off during rains. Thailand is "developing" faster... i.e. removing the forests faster than nearby lands. the result is a greater effect of drought during the Dec - April months and a greater likelihood of flooding during the monsoons. (On average each foot of forest topsoil can soak up a full 4 inches of water - to be released over time and cleanly in the dry months... and that doesn't even account for the deep waters trees access during dry seasons and use to cool their environments.)

The foolishness of polluting and destabilizing the huge planetary systems we and all life forms have enjoyed for thousands of years - so as to reap short term wealth for a few by accessing the deposits of fossil fuels generated over a hundred million years... that foolishness will become apparent all too soon. May karma be sufficient to grant you the length of life to see the mistake and the costs thereof.

Meanwhile I will strive often to mitigate global damage myself and by educating those who'll listen to cast a smaller carbon footprint ... and vote out those who believe as you expressed above.

    AGREE WITH YOU RPCVguy

since the start of the industrial revolution the greed to remove carbon that was locked away by nature has now creted a threat to life in general

due to greed and hoarding ... the great destroyers

  2. I don't understand this government. They say they want to prevent violence, but seem to mainly do things that incite anger (and thus violence).

And I start to wonder if that's not what they are really after, so they have an excuse to crush it (violently).

Maybe they're trying to prevent extreme violence. After all UDD leader Arisiman did tell protesters to fill up containers with petrol once they arrived in Bangkok. Really, who wants thousands of hot heads carrying containers full of petrol which can be used for nefarious ways. Preventive medicine perhaps?

from previous experience/action it could be a setup to shoot anyone holding a bottle of pop !

stay inside the killer B's are coming ...

  3. rats leaving sinking ship springs immediately to mind.......

Some people don't seem to realize that Thaksin is the LEGAL democratically elected head of the Thai government. The military took over when he was on a trip out of Thailand. He was the people's choice to lead the country. We seem to be currently under military control without elections. I am sure if you were in his shoes you would want your family to leave the country to insure they were out of harm's way.

its up to "the people" to elect the manifesto of the leading party not necessarily the leader

seems like the people have a social conscience which is what I like about the good Thai people

  4. Let's also remember that the yellow shirts are educated. They made a legitimate use of force to remove a corrupt regime. They're liberators.

    :)

Looking at the different CRIMES of the so called EDUCATED yellow shorts on YouTube, I can only LMAOROF.

The attack on a motorcycle taxi on the way to the airport and the "killing" of a motorcycle with basebal clubs by the yellow shirts shows clearly their "EDUCATED" level.

    Yes, liberators of VIOLENCE.

    YOU GET WHAT YOU SAW

agreed FASCISM does not work on education ! fascism is based on bully boy, brown nosed, yellow back cowardice ...

  5. So once this is all sorted out and if the instigators are indicted for treason, as they rightfully should be, I suppose I would rather be out of the country as well.

Judging by how long it is taking to bring the yellows to court for their actions I would guess the reds have no need to rush to get out the country, oh wait, how silly of me, the yellows acted with impunity, the reds do not.

Yet another "balanced" report by Tony. There are cases proceeding agaisnt the PAD leadership. Cases move at different speeds as we all know. However .... bringing up "the yellows" in a thread about people that all are linked to Thaksin (so far) fleeing the country is just a typical "red" diversion on TV. The new red motto should be "If your position is indefensible, Obfuscate!"

OBFUSCATE ... thanks for that I have'nt heard it since I worked with a load of software programmers

    cheers :)

  6. Call me a cynic if you wish

Brilliantly typical Thai plan. Create a crisis, pretend you are doing something about it then queue up with the others angling for your share of the cashola based on all the work you have pretended to do and never mind the implications of your actions. That said, when the money,if there is any left by now, gets released there WILL be squabbling.

Not only Thai ... that happens in management worldwide!

Cook up scheme to cause dissent then fix it and take credit and bonus ...

  7. I guess the Red leader really did not mean what they said. "there will be only peaceful demonstrations"

I guess they were kidding again :)

Glad to see you have the only working magic mirror in Thailand and can know these facts. Seems others like this government and those that wish for bad publicity would need to do this as well. Then there is the possibility that it has nothing to do with ether. :D I guess that evidence and facts won't be needed by many. Please dissect the word assume.

    Don't blame hin..he is all RED..... :D

    nothing to do with ether?

probably all to do with sniffing it!!!

  8. Sounds like a lance jobby ...sorry..

Got bitten once on the arm by something while in the bush in West Africa but since I was going on leave didnt want to consult the local witch doctor....o dear.

Later on the flight back ( British Caledonia) found that i was having difficulty lifting anything bigger that a large glass of wine so decided that i had better see the quack on arrival.

Next day I wandered into the Hospital for Tropical Deseases (behind Euston Station)and realised when the receptionist almost fainted that I had made the right decision... :D

My old arm had doubled in size....

The doc was great and a bucket was produced and he did the old one-two with a claymore (seemed like it)and half an hour later I was off to the pub again with enough Peni-cil.to save king Kong...

Aint funny but could be much worse ...dont leave it........ :)

I had an arm bite in Hong Kong while walking the hills...

blew up like balloon next day

again like you hospital rushed me in and put me on drip with arm in air

I felt a bit of a prick but then it was all over in a day or two

    Go get the treatment :D

  9. Hi

I have been using Psyllium Husk (whole unprocessed) for many many years ... it is wonderful for control of blood pressure letalone any other intestinal ailments

Any processed stuff I would avoid

If using the unprocessed stuff make sure you take in the full amount of vitamins with quality whole foodstuffs or a good vitamin supplement like Pharmaton

I only have a Malaysian outlet for the good stuff. In Thailand it does not appear that gastric problems are caused by eating rice rice rice without sufficient fibre.

I have developed many recipes for Psyllium based dishes including fibre rice cakes etc.

If you wish to talk about introducing the stuff into Thailand please contact me

    Thanks

    Guy Lakeman

You will find me on the internet search engines.
