  1. Hi, I'm keen to buy an apartment in Riverside Condo. Can anyone advise on noise level of units facing Holiday Inn Hotel? Are there good rental income from large units and/or

    studios?

  2. It would help to know where you are. In ChiangMai there are two places that make them. The cost of mine was 6000baht for the sidecar. He said a Honda Dream was the best bike but this may have changed.

I'm also looking to have one made in Chiangmai. Care to share the location of the shop? I'm in Hang Dong.

And do you need any special permit to have a sidecare?

    Thanks.

  3. Crossy, that archos 7 looks like a cool tool, but a bit pricey. The internet connectivity is a plus, but not necessary What i would like is simply a reader with a screen 7inch+. Or something like those elcheapo DVD players, but doesn't need the DVD function.....just a USB input and format versitility. A txt reader would be a big plus if could be used as a lite ereader.

I have a Sony PRS 600 as a e-Reader. I didn't use it much due to the resolution and contrast of the ereader. But now I have an iPad. I think that is the best gadget you can get for now. It's really quite a perfect thin client.

  4. Went to Fujian for my birthday lunch today (PizzaNPasta tonight), and it was top notch. But I do have one major complaint - price!

On the menu Har Gow were 80 baht for 3 - ok - my choice and I made it (other places can be as cheap as 25 baht for three). And other things on the menu were equally higher in price.

But that is not my complaint - I went there, read the menu, saw the prices, ordered, got great food, and readily accepted the 5-star cost.

The bill came, and our pot of tea for two people was 480 baht. Price was never mentioned - and I suppose I could have asked, but one doesn't expect a kick in the balls like that - so I guess it is my fault for not asking if tea was the most expensive item in the restaurant...

Fifteen fuc_king dollars for a pot of tea - asinine, greedy and mean.

1600 baht for lunch and a third of it was for a pot of Pu Erh tea - not even an expensive tea to buy.

Greedy greedy greedy, and sneaky sneaky sneaky

Everything else was fine - service, food, surroundings, etc. But it left a bad taste in my mouth, and that is not what wants after a great meal.

And for what it is worth, So You, on NH soi 15 is really almost as good...

Yes, the waitress warned us about the cost of tea and so we go for the buffet at 499 which includes everything in the menu with free flow of chinese tea.

Went to Holiday Inn for the Dim Dum buffet today, glad to know that the chef is from Hong Kong. Must say that the quality for Fujian is slight better than Holiday Inn but really like the peking duck in Holiday Inn , my own personal taste though.

  5. Never tried in any of the above places. But have tried "Yangzijiang' in NH and 'Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi'. In the latter, they serve Dim Sum lunch, really good quality. We ordered every single item in the menu, all yummy except for the rice rolls with char siew and prawns which is a bit out. It's called Fujian restaurant.

Yangzijiang is good too. I think the taste is near to Hong Kong quality dim sum.

  6. My family loves soy milk and I'm think of making it from home. Does anyone knows where I can get a good soy milk machine like SoyQuick in Chiangmai?

Yok on the Super Highway has Soy milk machines . upstairs ,and an interesting shop with loads of products you may not be ablle to buy elsewhere.Store looks new ,not sure how long its been there.

Wow, you people really knows where to find. I checked out some commercial machines(Champ) in Makro , not too bad but the grinding stone might not very suitable. I'm currently using a blender and cheesecloth and I must say that the washing part is tedious. But the quality of my soymilk, unmatched :) .

  7. I don't know where to buy the machine, however let me warn you that males should not be drinking a lot of soy milk, you will develop "man boobs" . I read this in an issue of Men's Health a few months back, and I'm sure you could probably google this and get some info on it too.

Yes, read that too and some other negative comments. But i think that has to do with GMO beans. I'm using organic, non-GMO beans but I must say that non-GMO beans are hard to get nowadays.

Went to Robinsons and Central KSK, nothing in Robinsons . There's 2 model in Central KSK but not sure whether it's good enough for thrice weekly usage.
