Obviously you need to go to a higher level hospital. where in Thailand do you live?

Also - what antibiotics were you on?

How long ago was the insect bite? Did it actually bite the eye itself or just the lid?

    Anti-biotics were Amoxocylin and Cloxocylin.

The malang wee just flew into my eye and caused the irritation culminating in a cyst on the lower eyelid.

    Reside 50km from Sisaket City

  2. I'm currently house bound in the village and been to the local hospital to check on some odd ailments and they sent me home with some vitamin b...

Some background: I got a nasty cut tripping over a bamboo stump & left it untreated for a few days. It got infected and I ended up on anti-biotics for 2 weeks. In the meantime, i also had an eye infection from a malang wee.

I now have double vision problems, loss of balance, ear ringing and numbness in fingers of both hands, as well as numbness around my face.

Hospital checked blood sugar - it was 142 as I suspected Diabetes. Now I'm wondering what's going on,  whether its a side effect from the cut or a mini stroke or first signs of MS.

Waiting to go to a clinic when a ride comes available but am very sceptical of the local medicos so out of boredom thought I'd throw it out there for any advice

  3. If, in the case you obtain a new Passport early and your old one expires 6 months AFTER you are due to renew an annual Extension of Stay, should you have the current Extension of Stay stamps transferred into the new Passport? Then, when time comes to renew the Extension of Stay, Immigration has your new Passport no. recorded?

To put in context, a Passport expires Oct 2022 and Extension of Stay is due for renewal in January 2022, so obtaining a new Passport early would allow the Extension of Stay renewal to go for the full 12 months?

  4. My 2 year driving license is due to expire soon and would like to know the best office to go and do the renewal to get the 5 year one in the Sisaket area. Preferably one that doesn't make you do the depth perception test as I had to have a crack at it twice when I first got my 2 year license.

I know I will need medical certificate, residence certificate, copy of passport data page, extension of stay stamp page, last entry stamp copy of TM6 Card. Could someone also confirm if I need to do the online seminar and test at dlt-elearining.com?

    Thanks

You should apply as near to the day your extension ends as possible since it will start on the day you apply for the extension based upon marriage. Most offices would not let you do it 2 months early.

My Extension of Stay based on Retirement had an expiry date of 15-Feb-21 and I applied to change to an Extension of Stay based on Marriage on 25-Jan-21. I was granted permission to say until 24-Jan-22, so 12 months from date of application when changing reasons.

  6. My Extension of Stay based on Retirement was due to expire 19-Feb-64, with 90 report due 24-Jan-64. I did it on-line and it came back stating next report 15-Feb-64!

I applied to change the Extension of Stay to one based on Marriage on 25-Jan-64, and was granted 24-Feb-64, with IO putting a slip in my pp to report again on 24-May-64.

Come the 15-Feb-64 I tried to do the 90-Day report online and was rejected. Subsequently, went to Immigration on 15-Feb-64, the Immigration Officer said that as the "under consideration" stamp was to 24-Feb-64 to come back then.

Consequently, when the new Extension was granted it 'reset' the 90 days to 24-May-64.

    This was in Sisaket.

  7. I reside near Khukhan, 50km south of Sisaket city and wonder if anyone is aware if a reputable dentist for cleaning/general check up? Preferably able to speak some english, a sense of humour and resonably priced.

I'm currently visiting Pattaya and am concerned a consultation here may result in having some more work done, i.e. implant and required to come back over several weeks but have commitments in Sisaket until at least June before I visit again.

    Thanks in advance

1/2 A STV could not be changed to a 90 day non-o visa and they will not be issued after September 30th.

He could get a single entry tourist visa and the apply for the non-o visa at immigration. Or he could enter visa exempt and apply for one. And then a apply for a one year extension of stay prior to having less than 15 day remaining on his entry.

    3. The Canadian embassy will allow him to do a statutory declaration to confirm his 65k baht income. He will need to show proof of his income.

    4. No needed if he has the proof of income from the Canadian embassy.

    5. There is not requirement to enter the country on or before he has at least 30 days remaining on his extension of stay to apply for a new one. He would only need enough time remaining to do the extension.

    Thanks Joe, much appreciated

  9. A Canadian friend wants to come to Thailand around October this year.

His intension is to obtain an Extension of Stay based on Retirement, using the 65,000 THB per month method, (from a pension) and be able to return to Canada for 4 or 5 months each year and return.

The following are his queries, and apologies in advance if it's a bit long-winded as I'm trying to relay as best I can:

    1. What would be the best visa to obtain initially - STV, Non-Immigrant "O" obtained through the Thai Embassy in Ottawa (I thought you can only get an "O" once inside Thailand & O-A's are only issued outside) or Visa Exempt?

    2. If he comes on TV, STV or Visa Exempt, can any of these be converted to a 90-day Non-Immigrant "O" and apply for a 1 year Extension of Stay based on Retirement?

    3. He then states that he can get a letter from the Canadian Embassy in BKK confirming he is in receipt of income to conform to the 65,000 THB per month method?

    4. If he doesn't have 800,000 THB in his Thai bank account, how long must he show he is getting funds of 65,000 THB into it, given that he would not have 12 months of deposits when he comes?

    5. If the Extension of Stay was approved, and he wants to return to Canada, obviously he would require a re-entry permit, then he would need to come back to Thailand at least 30 days before the expiry date of his Extension of Stay to re-new for a further year?

He is not keen on paying an Agent to accomplish this.

    Thanks for your consideration.

My wife has been contract harvesting for several years now and so I think I now what is charged for the job.

A word of warning on the practice of as you said "upped the fee for the difficulty factor".

About 3 seasons ago the Prayut Govt instead of paying subsidies introduced several measures to assist farmers and 1 of those was to cap harvesting cost at 600B/rai. Part of their reasoning was that fuel prices have dropped.

Anyway if you get a disgruntled customer who you have charged a "difficulty fee" that decides to make a complaint it could get messy.

As for measuring the area cut her operator uses an App on his phone. If anyone is not happy with that then she has a Garmin GPS that they walk around to measure. I asked if it measured in rai but only got a growl as a response (she was busy cooking for the workers) so I didn't press it any further.

    With you there...

Fee here is the same. Last year it was 650 baht but some harvesters are charging as low as 500, we dropped to 600 and got more work in an area 25km away. This year, the bigger harvesters (DC 93 & 105's) have come in and charging 700 or 800.

Luckily, we are well known and have regular customers and they are happy with the fees.

Don't get why you will need an app to measure a Rai. Just use your normal GPS and covert it.

type "X sq meters to rai" into google. Where "X" is your square meters measured on GPS or Google Earth or Google maps.

"yard2 to rai" or "hectare to rai" or "acre to rai" all convert.

    Thanks all.

The family is currently rice harvesting for various farmers with two Kubota DC 70's. While taking the word from them about how many rai they want cut, they're charged a fee per rai.

The difficulty this year has been sodden rais, which makes the going tough (lost 6 hours one day when one got bogged) so slow going in one patch means we lose time getting to another job and upped the fee for the difficulty factor. They'll say just three rai here, but then want another patch done, behind a tree patch, past the kra tom and next to the potatoe rais and we end up doing nearly four rai, but they'll say no, only three rai and try to short change us!

It's bad enough waiting for payment cos they hold out for the price per kilo to rise (like the wheat farmers in Oz) so this season more accuracy would be better...not to mention paying the driver and baggers per rai (less lao kao consumed) 555

  12. I currently have An Extension of Stay based on Retitement "O" obtained via Jomtien and due for renewal at the end of January.

We are going to move to Si Sa Ket, register the marriage and live at the wife's family home and am considering changing from Retirement to Extension based on Marriage, also enabling me to apply for a WP.

Clarification is sought for the following:

    1. Do I need to lodge TM28 (change of address) & TM30 or does latter need to be done by the house master (wife's father) at Si Sa Ket? He is incapacitated & wonder if a Power of Attorney form should be used to enable my wife to be to lodge it

    2. To register the marriage, do the Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage, and copy of passport that I will have translated to Thai also need to be MFA certified?

    3. Are witnesses at the Amphor required to be non related?

    4. Once Marriage Certificate is issued can I get a Yellow Tabien Baan?

    5. I have ubonjoe's list of docs required for Extension based on Marriage - is there a separate form to state "reason for change" other than the TM7?

    6. Regarding the Bank Guarantee Letter that I bank with them (Bangkok Bank, Jomtien) bank statements and updated passbook, if these are suppose to be dated the same day as the day I apply, how do I get around this as my Bangkok bank branch is in Jomtien a 7 hour drive away?

    7. Do I need "certified" copy of my Aus bank statements showing transfers over the last 12 months?

Lastly, if I only do a change of address, can I still get a Yellow Tabien Baan so I can open a bank account locally?

    Thanks in advance...

  13. Having perused the Department of Immigration's site and various topics here I would greatly appreciate clarification of the following, in realtion to our own current circumstances:

My girlfriend is currently here with me in Oz on a 3 month Tourist Visa until early Deember. We met a year ago and she has one child under 10 who is currently at school in isaan. I want to apply for the spouse visa now and want to know the general rules and the circumstances surrounding it.

If we apply for the spouse visa is it correct that at the same time we make application for another Partner temporary visa (subclass 820) (and Partner permanent visa (subclass 801)?

Can this be donewhile she is in Australia AND will the new visa/visas be granted in time so that when her current visa runs out in early December it extends on top of that (The current visa does not have the 'no further stay' condition on it so I am presuming we could extend this?) If it doesnt come through by then, what can happen?

If it does can she still fly back to Thailand and return say, approximately mid Janury and stay until the Spouse Visa is granted within which time I believe is 9 months we have to tie the knot?

Additionally what visas are required for us to get her child out to Australia next year

Finally can someone tell me the RIGHT name of these visas i.e Spouse as opposed to Prospective Marriage, no wait let's throw in Fiance, DeFacto. (Is it any wonder Thais find the english langauge so confusing!!)

    Cheers

    :)

  14. You can apply for a 30 day extension before the third entry "permitted to stay" period expires. You can get a double entry tourist visa from Laos if you want. Each stay is 60 days, but those could also be extended, I think each extension is 1900 baht if I remember correctly.

Many thanks. For the 30 day extension, can you please confirm if this is done at a local immigration office (I reside in Bangkok) and if so what requirements/documents are needed for example do I need to front up with evidence of a departing flight or vessel in 30 days? I probably already know that the answer would be a No, otherwise we'd all be booking bus tickets for 30 days time.

  15. I am after some advice regarding my tourist visa which was issued 2nd Feb in Brisbane, Australia. It is a multiple entry visa, "Good for Three journeys". The stamp states it "must be utilised before 30 July" and that on each entry my stay is 60 days. I first entered via airport on 5 February and travelled via land to Laos on 2nd April, re-entering (second entry) via Friendship Bridge same day whereby it was stamped admitted until 31 May. I left via BKK airport 31 May and am visiting Singapore for 6 days and will re-enter via BKK airport on 6 June for my third entry. This will allow me entry until 5 August (exactly 60 days).

Wanting to stay further, I would need to obtain a new Tourist Visa so I intend travelling to Vientiane, Laos on or before 5 August and obtain a new multiple entry Tourist Visa.

From reading multiple topics am I correct in assuming that the Thai Embassy there will issue me with a new Tourist Visa valid for two entries of 60 days each?

Depending on the answer to the above the queries I have in addition to this are these:

Does the Thai Embassy in Laos issue multiple entry Tourist Visas for 60 days each, ie two journeys or entries only? Or are they limiting entries or can they be for 90 days?

Having had a three trip multiple entry tourist visa will they deny issuing a new tourist visa and prohibit me from re-entering for 90 days as one wag told me? (Another Beer Chang charged wag also told me I would have to return to Oz to get a new tourist visa).

If no new tourist visa is issued at all, can I re-enter immediately via airport and be granted 30 days?

I then researched obtaining a Business Travel Card (BTC) which are issued by the Australian government (subject to qualification by the applicant) and other members of APEC for business people who travel regularly to APEC member countries such as Thailand where entry at the airport is done through where diplomatic personnel enter and a stay is granted for 90 days each time, and the BTC and such multiple entries into Thailand are valid for up to 3 years.

I am under 50 (47) and am not eligible for a Non Immigration visa. Please note that in reading through the forum topics in trying to clarify the tourist visa matter there is definately different criterias depending on whether you are a UK or Australian citizen.
