  1. I am paying my lawyer 2000/month for making my accounts.

Every month I mail him all the documents - expense & sale bills. He then texts me the amount of tax due - VAT, PND 1 & Social Security which I transfer him & he pays it duly. VAT due is the only tax which changes monthly depending on the sale. At the year end, he does the balance sheet & charges me the auditing fees of 12000-. He informs me whenver any other tax is due, for e.g. mid term company tax, tax on company profit, etc.

In a nutshell, its 2000/month for his services & 12000 auditor fees once a year. As a check on his activities, I ask him to email me every month the copies of the tax paid.

  2. I had mine done at the Phayathai 3 hospital after feeling some symptoms of the virus on day 6 of my self isolation (returned from Holland). I was told the result would be known in 5 - 7 days. The government paid 4400- for the test (do not know the calculations. BTW I am resident) & I had to pay 6500- for chest xray, medicines, etc. Altogether it took me about 2 1/2 hrs there.

They told me that there are too many testing for covid so they only test those who have come from the usual 4 countries (China, Korea, Iran, Italy) or high risk countries (Netherlands, Norway, etc...) or have been in contact with someone who tested positive.

  3. I heard the law changed (since 1 yr) when I went 2 claim my wife's pregnancy expense (12000), 1 & a half month salary. However, they r still paying the 350 monthly expense for the child.

I am planning to stop paying to Social Security. I dont know how easy it is to stop now , after paying for 4 yrs. I pay for only me & my wife, we both r directors of the company Ltd. with 5 thai workers.

    Any experiences or suggestions?

  4. Hi,

We hava small garden around our house & have never maintained one before. Since the last 6 months, we have noticed that on the 3 sides, no grass is growing in many places & there is sand instead. We have put more earth & manure. But its the same problem. Could someone let me know why has that happened? And what should we do to stop it from happening.

Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Peter.

  5. I returned from Holland on the 15th of Oct, after staying for a week. I was on tourist visa for a week, valid for only a month until the 5th of November.

Now, I need to go to Spain for our friends reunion. Can I apply for a Schengen visa right now or is there a waiting period?

What are the chances of getting a tourist visa so soon?

Any info would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Peter.

  6. Hi,

I just extended my visa based on marriage (Aug 09) .

A month before the expiry, I went to ask if there were any changes. Which I always do because TIT (This is Thailand). Keep changing rules at will without notification. Have had several bad experiences.

The info counter said its the same as last year. Not convinced, I went to check on the notice board. No changes, it had the same document list. Still not convinced, I asked one of the staff who interviews the applicant, she said that same documents required as before. Now I was convinced.

I went to extend my visa, with all the documents as last yr. Unfortunately (or fortunately??? Wait till u hear ahead) It happened that I arrived quite late, after 2 pm & couldn't get a queue number. I was told that I should request one of the staffs if I can get a queue number. When I went to one of the staff, she said it was too late but she offered to check my documents.

And then what a shock I got, I needed some more documents than the last year. Another change of rules!!!!

However, I managed to get all the documents the next day & got my extension. Initially, 1 month then 11 months. All is well that ends well.

Here is the list of documents reqd. -

    1> Application form

    2> Passport

    3> Wife's ID

4> Wife's House Registration. If wife's parents are not Thai. Require the birth certificate of wife. (This is a new requirement)

    5> Child birth certificate.

6> Child's House Registration. (New requirement)

    7> Photos

    8> Address Map

    9> Work Permit (If required)

10> Company Registration papers signed by company director. (New requirement. Before had to certified by Company Registrar)

11> Phor Ngor Dor 91 certified by Revenue Department. Original would not do. (New requirement. Before could by signed by company director)

12> Phor Ngor Dor 1 certified by Revenue Department. Original would not do. (New requirement. Before could by signed by company director)

    All the best

    Pete.

  7. Thx for your reply. Sorry, was not clear with

1> I'm living in Thailand since many years & I get visa based on my Thai wife. My yearly visa just finished & have applied for my new yearly visa. As usually it happens with everyone, I have received a months visa initially. Now I need to travel asap. If I were to apply for a Schengen tourist visa, will I get a visa? I intend coming back to Thailand in time to hear the result of my visa. (I will get the balance 11 months then).

    Also,

7> What documents are to be shown on visa application? Do I need to give a copy of my wife's ID, house registration, child's birth certificate? Do I have to give my company papers, tax papers?

    Thx

    Pete.

  8. I would greatly appreciate any info on the following -

1> Can anyone (non-Thai on a Thai wife visa) apply for a Schengen tourist visa, if the visa to stay in Thailand is for a month? (Under consideration, will be granted 11 months visa next)?

2> If the Schengen tourist visa has been refused, for whatever reason, how long to wait for applying again?

3> After travelling to Schengen countries on a Schengen tourist visa once, is there a waiting period to apply for another Schengen tourist visa? Need to travel again after 1 or 2 months.

4> How much bank balance is required to show?

5> At which embassy is it easiest to get a visa, with the least waiting period?

6> Do all embassies take an interview?

Thanks in advance for all the answers.

    Pete.
