  1. Yes i have heard of that. For sure the tropical sun is very bright. where they started indoors then moved outside? Did you harden them off at all. Or where they outdoors from the start. I think shade cloth would be needed if they cannot be acclimated to the brightness. When i grew indoors I had 1400 watts of HPS and Halide only about 6" from leaves with no problem. Maybe we just need to develop some tropical sun tolerant Indica strains !!

  2. you can do that but another option is to use Carbon dioxide injection. When using co2, and enough light (LOTS) then you can run the temp hihgher, say 85f. This will increase the metabolic rate of the plants and give you faster groth rates. it may even eliminate the need for AC completely. The big caveat is that the plant must have plenty of all available needs met. meaning good nutrients, lots of light, plenty of water. It works wonders in a hydroponic or aeroponic system.

  3. I am interested in doing this exact thing. My Thia friend has doen a bit of research and says you need a dfferent license to sell. Any verification on that. Also what type of growing is mostly done. I have experience with high quality hydr and want to produce using augmented sunlight with a full hydro systme and clones using american strains. From what i hear the quality is still a bit lacking. When i lived there i got some good bud, but most was dirt weed. How is it now? (have not been over in 5 yr) Another thing I saw on the business forum was that if your sale (business in general) was low you did not need it registered because you did not need to pay tax. Any clarification on that? Thanks for any info. Im hoping to get back over to the thai wife and my house in a few weeks to get things going.

You are limited to 2 land entries on Visa Exempts per year, but if traveling to Thailand frequently, or staying for long periods, a Tourist Visa is the best assurance of trouble-free entry.

Reports from others from Vientiane indicate they only count Tourist Visas from themselves and maybe Savanahket - so you should be fine.  Requirements are your passport and filling out a form.  I would bring a printout of a bank-account, just in case they begin asking for this before you arrive (as they just began doing in Savanahket, Laos).

Only residents of Laos can get a Multi-Entry Tourist Visa there.

The Consulate in Vientiane is closed on Saturday and Sunday.

If you have time left on your permitted stay, and wish to leave Thailand and return before your "admitted until" date, you can preserve that "admitted until" date with a re-entry permit.  Note that the clock keeps running while you are gone - the "admitted until" date is unchanged upon your return.

would a re-entry permit also allow a 30 extension to remain in place for a day trip to Laos?

  5. I currently have 4 land crossing in a row from Poi Pet and a fly-in from SiamRrep to Suvarabhumi. I know that I cannot get another land crossing (probably anywhere). I had to purchase an exit ticket at same time as ticket to BKK or airline (Bangkok Air) would  not sell me ticket at all. Also made me show cash.

My question is, will Vientianne (have ticket already) issue a tourist visa to me with this many lands runs? What is current requirements for that? will they issue multi entry?

Is the Embassy open on Saturdays to apply for Visa?

If I leave country with a tourist visa (later if I get it) can I exit to Laos on a re-entry permit?

    any other thoughts welcome

  6. It has been awhile since i posted these messages, and to be honest I forgot about them. does anyone have a number to this Brian at Sumet parts? Is this the shop at Pattanakarn road? I saw AP Honda reccomended somwhere online and called them. Pretty useless except they gave me a numbe for a falang run shop with a guy named Steve. I have been calling for 2 days now with no answer. Any thoughts. As to the question of what was wrong with my bike, nothing really just want to get all the little things (inst lights, new pegs, screws, bushings etc, fixed up before starting to change over to performance parts. I did find a shop that has a huge selection of all bike parts. located on On Nut about 1km west of Kanchanapisek on North side of rd. They dont speak much english so it is a bit tough. especially if i want aftermarket parts or upgrades. Once again sorry for super long delay in reply.

  7. Hey guys, I live near suvanabumi airport and could use a good part shop nearby to keep my NSR150-RR in top shape as its my only transpo. I have a really good general mechanic but not sure if he could tune the RC valve and do otehr fine adjustments. Any info on upgrading for performance wouodl be helpful also as this is my first bike that i have ridden extesivley. thanks.

  8. hey guys, i live in bangpli and my nsr150-RR is my only mode of transpo except buses, motorbike taxis and sawng tows so i need to keep it running good or i go hungry. can anyone give some info on parts stores near me. Basically Im at suvanabumi airport. Any other info on upgrading or maintaing would be much appreciated also.

  9. so the military wants more power under an " emergency decree" . Can somone explain to me how just saying "OK now its an emergency" will make anything change. will the water suddenly run off faster. Will people instantly all get a boat to go to dry ground with? Just doesnt make sense to me. If there is assistance that the military, goverment or anyone can give what does it matter if they call a "state of emergency" or call it a dam BBQ dinner for that matter. It seems to me the military just wants to have special powers to phuk with people. maybe they will find someone they can blame the floods on and take care of him with a snipers round. Wouldnt they all be so proud then!

As for the people that are having to deal with flooded houses I feel there pain and hope all turns out well. eventually the water will go away and things will get back to " normal".

  10. Playing music and making beer.

wow a fellow zymurgist. I made beer in the states but do not have my equipment here. am working on designing some new stuff to have made here (cheap) were do you get your ingredients and do you do full mash brews or the fast way with canned malt.

I also fly rc helicopters here. and riding my motorcycle

  11. so i read a post that thailand prosocuted and convicted an american citizen for something he did while in america in his home on his own computer. cant give more details as that might be getting a bit to close to free speech.

just wanted to know what others thought.

Does Thailand consider the entire world its jurisdiction now. i mean who do they think they are the USA.

    Discuss (but hey be careful)

  12. yes still lookinng for answer to (did menu have prices? ).

    my price guesses

    steamed fish 220

    salted fish 80

    pepsi (2) 60

    water 20

(ice) 20 (my guess here) op didnt mention, but it is common. i have even been charged for the little cool towels they bring out 55555 just once !!

so 450 does not seem unreasonable. simple reason in my mind didnt ask/know price before ordering (speak ANY thai?)

dont blame store for customer lack of knowledge. and you could chalk it up as a very inexpensive lesson learned. sure beats learning same lesson on the jetskis in Phuket !!

but since food sucked real simple, dont go back. next time ask price or read menu.

  13. had (having) the same problem. MOVE away ( I did) and yes she of course wants money (mine does) but if you give it to her it will just show her that you have it and are willing to part with it and then of course she will want more ( mine aint getting crap)!

seems to me that you could go to cops. selling stuff cant really be work could it? and you are here on legit visa. maybe research a bit.

if you call the cops, buy them some beer give them some tea money. she will probably be scared to <deleted> after that. if not, move!

as for phone, mine has a wonderful "silent , lights only " feature, and i can watch it flash all day long! 55555

i had my own horror story (long version) typed in but wonderful internet crashed and lost it all.

  15. its a shame the two countries can not use this issue as a catalyst for peacful cooperation. why not create an international zone of nuetrality around the temple that in esence belongs to no one. After all we are just talking about a bunch of dam dirt.

until humans can get past these super petty and stupid disputes we are doomed to live in conflict for eternity (or at least until we make the species extinct)

but then again TIT so that wont happen!

  16. . At our casinos and gambling venues in melbourne and sydney babies die from being left inside motor vehicles in the hot Australian Summer Sun, whilst mum is inside playing the Pokies.

The basic tenet of confucianism - The good of society comes before any individual.

well say what you like but that is what I call natural selection at work. So then the future population will have less people prone to gambling addiction. Would Confusious consider the good of the future society as being worth protecting? I think so.

    So throw those dice Mom!

  17. Its no laughing matter, gambling along with drinking, drugs and prostituition are a sure way to ruin and perpertrators should burn in hel_l!!!

oh thats ripe!!! do you mean drinking like Jesus' wine at the last supper, or prostitution like Mary Magdelene, or drugs like cigerettes (nicotine, more addictive than heroin) or coffee.

Please go back to your cave and wait for the rapture. we will send for your bones later.

  18. Video is on the way, but we are experiencing technical difficulties.

Update: At least 20 security officers injured when confronted by red-shirt protesters at Huachiew Hospital; officers agree to retreat from hospital

Absolutely best news about Daeng being shot. The triade of terrorists (Thaksin, Daeng, Arisman) should be taken out to remove the extreme elements hijacking a perfectly good cause (rights for the poor etc etc).

My inlaws, themselves from a disadvantaged upcountry background were literally dancing in the living room about this news.

Great strategy, not sure if the government can keep up the pressure or if it's going to turn into a complete mess again.

Too bad that the reforms being made (agricultural aide, loan packages, education reforms) aren't making headlines.

you must come from the "Israeli / Palestinian" school of Conflict Resolution? How is that technique working for them?

In short sir: you are an idiot!
