1. Me n my wife went to Bodh Gaya(bihar state) in 2005. Things might have been different now i guess. Irrespective of nationality all countries need visa to India,

my experience if you book thru a travel agent life is much easier from the hassels of transportation in India. There are few good hotels in Bodh gaya( i cant recall any name). India realy facinates there is a lot of difference than what we all are used too in our countries. Poor are too poor and rich are dam_n too wealthy.

in 2005 roads were too bumpy, carry your bottled water always. TOO MANY MOSQUITOES. people who help you are expecting tips, watch what you eat i had a stomach problem.

There is no straight flight CEI- India, we went from CEI-BKK & BKK - bodh gaya - bkk on Thai airways ( i dont know if it is still operating), we had booked all our luggage thru CEI to bodh gaya this way we only changed plane in BKK

    bon voyage

  5. my village (about 50 houses) only 5 houses(including mine) are modern houses, rest are bamboo houses; lot of them are poor. I cant say they are jealous, which i havent experienced from them but they do lack manners and lot of them simply avoid a foreigners; i guess they may be shy to talk to foreigners.

  6. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Shop-in...how/4703382.cms I read this article and feel sad, Budha is revered as God in many countries, the shop owner should have known that; what if somebody in Asia put shoes around Jesus' s statue or holy cross, we all might offended. I hope somebody will correct it.

Footwear store in Geneva uses Buddha statue to hang shoes 26Jun 2009, 0004 hrs IST, Pranava K Chaudhary, TNN PATNA: Sight-seeing in Switzerland does not leave a vacationer horrified, but Patna's Prabhat Choudhary, his wife and daughter were shocked to see a Lord Buddha statue garlanded with a pair of shoes at a footwear shop in Geneva.

"We were strolling on shopping street when my 15-year-old daughter insisted that we got into 'Anne Fontaine', a designer footwear shop. There in the shop, we saw a 4-ft statue of Lord Buddha on the shelf displaying shoes and slippers, garlanded with a pair of shoes," Prabhat, a realtor, recalled.

The family was shocked. Prabhat's daughter, was furious. Though her parents were a bit frightened, she persuaded them to let her shoot the sight with her videocam. The girl, a student of Patna's prestigious Notre Dame Academy, accomplished her mission without anyone - the shop staff or the crowd of customers - knowing about it.

Back home, Prabhat has sent a letter to the ministry of external affairs, requesting it to take up the matter with Swiss authorities.

  7. dont know about that but i have heard they take money at Nongkhai too, from a chinese passport holder, on his visa run, he said he had to pay ฿400 for exit stamp and on the way back in he paid another ฿50

last year on my way to laos from chiang khong(chiang rai). they were asking lunch money. when i refused they got angry and told me to get a bank statement, thats when i asked to talk with superiors.. luckly the big seravat(officer) was in the office , when he heard me shouting came out and asked about problem. after hearing both sides he said something in northen thai dialect to other guys and matter ended there.

  8. Please suggest me a good website designer, but not expensive, i want to have a website for hand made jewellry and handicrafts. THe company @chiangmai wants to charge extra 4 domain name ฿450/year and ฿2500/year to maintain my site (as i dont know how 2 do). Is it a good deal or if you guys know better than that please let me known

i thank you all God bless you all.

  9. Sometimes Thais are pain in the a_ _ . I live in a village and Thais visiting us, i always tell them politly 'please dont smoke in my house' and find it funny when they reply mai pinrai(no problem) and continue to smoke. There have been times i yelled @them to stop it and now everybody hates me. When people approach us i have to tell them please stop smoking while talking to me, and they dont listen and keep smoking on my face....but why Thai people cant understand about non-smokers have problems, from second hand smoke.

Please suggest me how best to tell Thai's to stay away from us while they r smoking. I have given up trying to explain them in all decent ways not to smoke in my house or near my kids.

  10. hey if its farang or any other man noway i am overprotective and i dont trust them. specially met many bad farangs in Thailand so it depends on the situation. myself being the father of girl i can understand your situation, in Thailand i just smile and take my daughter away immediatly i dont trust anybody.

  11. this is not by me. i found that on the web and it looked interesting . i think that guy might had a hard time in Thailand without understanding how Thais behave or vice-a-versa http:// whythaipeopleactstupid . blogspot . com ....
Thursday, May 28, 2009

Why Thai people are stupid ..... ?
Been to Thailand and found Thai people are most stupid people on earth. They see a foreigner and start calling names like 'hey you ..., farang, baang, heya etc' . Interestingly i found out from a Indian man that in Indian language baang means thief, a Muslim butcher , a pick-pockter, a low worker and a useless filth.. Now i dont understand why Thais have to call names to foriegners cant they respect us by calling Mr. / Miss or Khun (means mr./miss in Thai language).
