  1. I posted this on April. But did not get any clear answer to item 3 and 4. Anyone help please ?

We have just bought an old town house, in the middle of a terrace. The building is set back about 5 meters from the road and according to the land deeds our plot extends out to the road. There are markers are in place on the ground. This is all fine.

    Questions?

    1. How close to the property line can the adjacent owner build a wall ?

    2. If they exceed the allowable or encroach my land what steps can be taken to redress the issue ?

3 On the roof (flat usable concrete roof) can they build on the party wall without our agreement ? (In our case they have already build the partition wall up from the existing 1 meter to about 2 meters and it is leaning slightly into our side.)

4 If not allowed what steps can be taken to ask them to remove it?

    Advice please. Thanks.

  2. I to have a Yamaha Bolt 2015 doing a few long rides. I found any slight variation in recommended tyre pressure was very noticeable to the steering/cornering. However surprised you only got 8500 out of them. I'm hoping to get more like 12,000 but I'll keep a close eye on them for sure. Please let me know if you get good advice no new tyres and indeed how they work out. Thanks,.

  3. I've just been to the bank to support my wife getting a loan. It appears I an a single person not married to her. We were married in Seychelles 13 years ago and had the normal certificate/paper/documentation to prove it. Accepted in Australia, Pakistan, Korea and other places since.

Do I really need to go to the authorities here in Thailand and explain this or is there some form of bi country understanding about such certificates. Seems amazing if there is not. Or do I remain in the eyes of Thailand a single person living "in sin"... Very strange as Seychelles marriage certificate is recognized on most other countries on presentation. Oh yes and I'm a Seychelles citizen!!

Useful Comments please. (Apart from the obvious "go home and live in paradise"....) Which I'm thinking about... :)

    Thanks.

  4. Thanks. I'm down in Rayong. Mainly drive short distances 20 kilometers etc to and from work or to friends. So a bit of acceleration. And then a few 500 km runs up and down to Khon Kaen. A bit of a mix. I do not thrash it. no wheelies..

Tyres appear OK for now. I'll check the wear bar. So this enquiry was more to be ready in a few months. Recommend make and model. Thanks again.

  5. I recently bought a Yamaha Bolt R. Shop version, no mods. Web description of bike wheels are "All new, lightweight 12-spoke cast aluminium wheels are fitted tubeless tires. Front wheel is an MT2.50x19 fitted with a 100/90-19 bias tire, while the rear is an MT3.50x16 fitted with a 150/80x16 bias tire".

I'm going to need new tyres sooner rather than later..

    Questions.

1 How many kilometers can I do on existing ones (safely) before I change (done 6,000 km to date)

2 What tyres do you recommend. I know they are the only thing between me and the road so I'm looking for reasonable quality and reliability.

    3 Possible source for purchase.

Many thanks in advance of advice.

  6. Hi,

I visited the Baan Suan Exhibition a few years back (2013 or 2012) and saw a really nice timber house "kit" for sale. Now I want to follow up and cannot find the details anywhere. Anyone out there recognizes them from the photo? Thanks. Any help appreciated.

  7. Guys,

I can buy the switch. Somewhere in Bangers. I'm in Khon Kaen and will sort it out in due course. (FYI searched I found a company in BKK which supplies these by internet search. Emailed them but to date no reply. Will go there when I am next in town). For now my bedside switch panel has one open spot. Many many thanks to you all for such wonderful suggestions and quick answers. Really appreciated. Alan

  8. I'm doing some domestic wiring and have a two way light switch in my bedroom. One switch at the door and one either side of the bed. So three switches in all. Both ends are simple two way. The middle one if I understand correctly is a 'double' two way. i.e. both wires cross over. Does anyone know where I can buy one of these switches. I'm using panasonic for all switches and sockets. I've tried Home Hub, Global etc. No help there.

    Advice please.

  9. Why not suggest to good old David Cammeron that we invite Thai Observers to our elections? Or for the non UK readers please ask your governments to invite the Thia Election Committee to observe your elections?..... Just an idea....Then we can all spend out time looking over each others shoulders.

  10. Best I can advise is take a bus from Udon to Khon Kaen. (Goto KK main bus station). Any songtaw or motor bike taxi, tuk tuk, will take you to Ban Muang. If they will not go that far ask for Ban Tum. (Its on the way on the main west road out of Khon Kaen on route 12 towards. Get dropped of there and Ban Muang is a couple of klicks down a side road, so again a songtaw or bike will do it. Lovely place I go there once a month for weekends. Hope you enjoy.

  11. Just ask a Thai to buy a bottle for you if we (the foreigners) with 'shameless behavior' are to pay 20 baht more.

Either that or stay away from booze and don't support their reasoning. Besides, if it works once, they'll do it again.

I'm sure plenty of people will still buy and support it and give them justification for their 'righteousness'.

Isn't it a little arrogant to class all foreigners with 'shameless behavior?' Wow, they really like us, don't they.

APRILS FOOLS DAY IS IT NOT????
