Panviman is not wheelchair / walking aid friendly resort. It is built on a mountain side. Most of the rooms are only accessible by stairs unless to stay in one of the villas. Granted there are vehicles provided to take you around the resort but still there are allot of stairs and steep climbs.
But still a beautiful resort.

The text of the announcement seems to be in contradiction with the published police order 139/2557.
2.4 In the case of tourism purposes:
Each permission shall be granted for no more than 30 days from the date on which the permitted period has lapsed.
"Each permisison" seems to indicate that multiple 30 day extensions are possible. It does not say only one time, although that would be logical. But could be translation issue.
It does say one time only.

Yeah these will ONLY be used by ladies driving vehicles! And Thai drivers ALWAYS obey these types of regulations. Dreamers! ! !
Of course they will, the same way they obey the invalid parking bays at shopping malls and super markets!

Funny that you think that is good service. When I did mine 2 years back I got mine in 3 days. They told me less than a week. When I had my passport redone 12 years ago took 3 weeks and came from Singapore.
Ask the Brits how long it takes for them to get a passport renewal. In comparison the US service is exemplary.
And when I did my 1st renewal 20 years ago it was done in Bangkok rather than sent to the US and a few days turn around. Have to say my experience is different than yours in the 21 years here as it seems to have improved. Never heard of Singapore handling the passports unless it was an intermediate courier service. Obviously my last one was 10 years ago and nearly the same turn around time as this one.
British passport took me five weeks to get before they got swamped in April this year. I know people in the UK that waited nine weeks! Good old British service, cant fault it.

such as monitoring foreign tourists who could be carriers of the deadly virus
Sort of vague, to say the least. I assume they'll be monitoring Thais, too, especially Thais who live, work or visit the West African countries effected by ebola. Yes? Yes?? Yes???
Why would any Thais live in, work or visit those countries? Most Thais have never even heard of those countries.
There are many Thais all over Africa.

I experienced same low quality service on a flight to London. I have also noted that their level of service has dropped in the past year. I am a frequent flyer so not just a one off experience. My last experince on Thai was like being on a Thai tour bus and being served a box lunch. Now one of the worst for International travel. Paid very high prices and got discount airline quality. Thai needs a complete remake of how they present their brand.
Thai used to be a quality carrier. Thanks for the memory Thai. Too bad it is only a memory and nothing like what they now offer.
I wonder if 7-11 is now preparing the meals for Thai?
If you compare Thai to 5 star airlines like Singapore or Cathay then of course it's nowhere near in terms of service. However, as airlines go, it's pretty good. I've always found the international service in both business and economy adequate and the food is surprisingly good in economy. Perhaps your 'last' experience was in a decade ago? Whatever the case, you're probably exaggerating.

I think the OP was looking to find out how often buildings in Chiang Mai have the problem of reaching the point that they hit the ceiling of 49% alien ownership. So far, all he learned is that Galae Thong came close to this point and the market dynamics changed for that building -- but no details were provided. Don't know if he'll learn more about Chiang Mai dynamics here.
But in this forum, he probably won't have to deal with people who don't understand the reason for the question and instead are judging him for buying a condo as his primary residence and considering titling it in the name of a key Thai person in his life.
Galae Thong has already reached the 49% quota.

Good news. Now Thailand's streets are maybe a little bit safer. Even if it is just a tiny little bit
It does not matter about the new test criteria. They need to enforce the rules on the road, without the rules being enforced on the roads nothing will change.

The Brits have done it again. As of today 26th March 2014 Instead of sending your application through to the UK, you now have to go in person to Bangkok.

There are two reliable chickenpox vaccines, Varilix by GSK and Okavax by Sanofi Pasteur. The GSK has been out of stock for roughly 6 months and still have no idea (as of 2 weeks ago) when they will be able to supply the vaccine again. The Sanofi outsourced the Okavax production to the Jap company, which decided they do not want to produce for other company anymore, so The Sanofi has no longer chickenpox vaccine in the market. The Jap version is now under production line but not know when it would be coming to Thailand. There is another brand called Varicella vaccine GCC which made by green cross Taiwan/Korea. It is not widely used as the other two and if there is any vaccine offered at any hospital right now, 99% it is the Taiwanese one, another 1 % is the left over GSK product, which is surely shortly expired.

I was also looking to potentially rent there but also getting turned off by reports about the noise issue. Also read some very bad reviews about the internet connection. Anybody knows if you can get your own, private connection installed?
Yes you can get your own connection.

Credentials were bought and paid for.
Stick with uptheos recommendation(s).
Yes... in this case he paid with 5 years of schooling in the subject matter. Unless we get scholarships, we ALL pay for our educations one way or another.
I'm curious as to why you completely ignore his 5 years of pedology schooling (a subject taught in reputable German schools,) but obsess on his honorary degree?
His 5 years of pedology schooling in Germany is far more germane to his work as a pedologist than the honorary degree he received for volunteer charity work performed in Florida.
Have you any personal experiential knowledge that you can share with us about his abilities as a health care provider, or is it all just something you read about his paperwork?
Please tell us about your personal knowledge of his skills and abilities, your experience when you used his services.
Before you defame a person, it's probably a good idea to have some personal experience.
Whoa! maybe this fellow is worth checking out, albeit carefully! Unfortunately "pedology" is not altogether a formally or highly regarded recognized discipline in all places. Deal with that as you choose! Probably spends on how sore your feet are. If he can help, great! So might good massage ----- and I do not mean that as a snide comment or cheap shot!
Yes!!! Check this fellow out. But not only carefully, but experiencially. Do NOT take my word for it. Find out for yourself. Find out why the people who use his health care services continue to do so. Find out why there is not one single patient of his complaining of his skills, abilities, or the results of his work.
This is ThaiVisa, right? When people are dissatisfied don't they bitch and moan right here and rather loudly and often? ThaiVisa members are not known for our reticence over mud-slinging. If we are dissatisfied with a service, we shout it from the rooftops. Do you see one dissatisfied patient in any of the threads about this man or his health care service? I don't. I just see people who have never used his clinic complaining about an honorary degree he received for charity work. Ask yourself 'why?'
I only wish it was just massage that could have solved my foot problems. The treatments would have been much more enjoyable.
The bottom line really is the satisfaction so many people have over getting good quality foot care from this man. No question about it... I'm one of them.
What he offers isn't abstract promises of things to come (like some investment scheme.) It's here and it's now, and it's right under our noses. No guessing. No wondering if... Hard facts telling us the end result right at the bottom of our own legs. It really IS hard to dispute something like that once you experience it. First hand experience, rather than secondhand mud-slinging.
Do not even think about going to see this guy. I have seen what he has done to others.

I beleive you apply thru BE, Bangkok
I understand all Uk passports are issued from the UK via Hong Kong
Check the BE, Bangkok website
No more Hong Kong. Passports only issued from the UK.

Instead protecting those assassins, they should protect people who are being robbed, harassed and killed by the Suthep's mercenaries
A woman entering a public park in Bangkok at 1 pm? First of all that would be rather unwise, I mean for a woman alone, anywhere in the world and second Lumpini Park is not open at that time. Trolling?
1pm not 1am!
