The Ice Maiden You ask do I have nothing better to do ?? The answer is NO I am retired so my life now is "I dont care",, "I'll get to that the second Tuesday of next week", and "I know everything about absolutely nothing" As for the link to IATA if you dont know how to get the most recent, well to bad.
As a person whose outlook on life is "I don't care" and announces that he "knows everything about absolutely nothing" I'm sure you'll be of some comfort to the OP, who came to this forum asking for meaningful advice, and actually found it from the first two posters who seemed keen to help.
Thank you for pointing out that I can delve into your link and find the relevent updated advice, thanks but that will not be necessary, as two posters had already posted a direct link to the relevent information, along with a helpful explaination.

Google can and should be your friend first off. Great info to be had rather than us Old Coots

I'm not sure why you decided to take a swipe at people who provided a clear and succint answer to the OP's question, and accurate links to assist.
I note that your link is out of date and misleading, have you nothing better to do?

Seems pretty standard .
When you say it “Seems pretty standard”, do you mean it’s a standard requirement that is demanded up and down the country, and is required by the relevant Police Order?
Or you mean it’s pretty standard at this office as they like to make up requirements on the hoof, because they can?

I think the flight has been cancelled since he bought the ticket. He should contact the airline and ask them.
Yes, that's what I've suggested he does.

Be interesting to know who sold him that ticket? Perhaps the return leg of a BKK>>LHR Sunday flight, which have been flying regularly. They certainly haven't been returning though.
I don't where he got it from, but it's was the return leg of an outward journey he made last month.

A friend of mine has booked a flight from London to Bangkok on Eva for next week, he intends to now get a certificate from the Thai Embassy in London.
He has a British wife living in Chiangmai who didn’t make the business trip, he has a work permit.
i thought he has to book a repatriation flight with Thai via the embassy, he thinks he can use his flight with Eva.
Have I got it wrong, I do hope so?

Therefore you should be able to enter right up to the last date and then stay for the visa period of 180 days. I'm in a similar predicament with my wife. We are postponing entry until CV stabilises. Does anybody know for definite as the UKVI website is unclear...
Yes you're incorrect.
Whilst you can enter at any time after the start of the visa, the UKBA accept that peoples travel plans can and do change, but you must depart the UK on or before the expiry date printed on Visa Vignette.

That's what's so frustrating, if she had told me I would have said so on the application and I'm sure everything else was correct and seeing that was 13 years ago we would have got a visa, now I don't know what to do.
Silly mare
If my husband called me a silly mare I wouldn't be very pleased.
My boyfriend/husband has always completed my application forms for me because my written English wasn't too good, I know I am responsible for whats written so I always read the form properly, why didn't you email the form to her, why did you use your email address.
I have always enclosed my old passports with the application, showing my visas, I've never been refused a visa, but the people in VFS always ask me if I have enclosed all my old passports, I wonder why they didn't ask her.
Don't take this the wrong way but I think you didn't trust her to do the form am now are paying the price. -

There's no need to search the British Embassy website, all the information is available via the direct link posted last week in post Number 32.

I intend to extend my stay based on retirement next week as my current permission expires on 26th April, I usually get a multi entry re-entry permit when I get my extension.
I have just been offered a post at one of the smaller embassies, the job is due to start in June, once security clearance has been obtained.
I obviously need to renew my extension, to prevent an overstay, and as I am going out of the country in mid May I need to obtain a re-entry permit.
I don't envisage any problem with my security clearance but, assuming I need a work permit to work at an embassy, can one be obtained with an extension of stay based on retirement, or do I need to obtain another type of visa, in which case do I need to leave the country?
If I do need to obtain another visa, would my re-entry permit be cancelled with my current leave to remain?
I hope this makes sense to somebody, I know what I mean, I think.
Bangkok Hospital, Phuket - vaccine survey
in COVID-19 Coronavirus
Posted
I received this survey from the Bangkok Hospital in Phuket, asking a number of questionswhether I would want a vaccine and if so which one.
I don't know if other Bangkok Hospitals are sending them out, or indeed other hospitals up an down the country.
