Want rent motorbike in Khon Kaen city. Only find 1 place near expats bars, and they wanted 6.000 for 1 month. Where have 100-125 cc motorbike for rent for 3-4000?

Reading your responses, some place Cat work ok, other place near KK have problem. The "one day only discount" is tomorrow. Guess I take my laptop and test it in the shop before make up my mind. Price tomorrow is unknown "it will be down to ????" so that is another factor.

my experience:

Korat: lived there 3 years, boring for a single young man. No active expat bar and most like to be for themselves. Not easy to make friends there, and if single even more boring im my opinion. Seems like the city close down 8pm, not many people out after that. A few disco. Ladies not to keen to make contact with farang (some years ago though) Would be my last choise.

Udon: stayed there 3 months, have expat bars and ago-go (or had). One road near the shopping mall where you find drinking bars and live music. I was bored there as single. But choosing form these 4 cities, it would be my 2 choise.

Khon Kaen: visited many times and just moved here. Big city and easy get around with many songtaew 8B. I think very easy to make contact here and plenty of beautiful smiling ladies. When I walk with my missus, get many smiles and eye contact. This city would be my choise if I was 28 and single. Rent a apartment for 4-6.000 baht and you will get many university girls next door, not a bad start. Helpful expat community here, web forum and expat bars.

Surin: just short stay there, have expat bar and restaurant, people seem friendly, but smaller city than the 3 above.

Take a tour before moving, test each city 2-3 days. We all have different likes and dislikes so go take a look before you move.

This coming Monday Cat have a "one day discount" here in KK, so I need to make up my mind before that. Hate to spend 7.000 on things that might not work any better.

Not sure where you live but I live in ban pet out west and get wimax service. It is sold by bp tv, I think the company that has it is called netaxxa ? But great service I had the 2M service for 590 a month same as maxnet prices only thing was torrents sucked because of bandwidth limitations.

Looking for users of CAT Cdma in KhonKaen city. Fast and reliable or not?

Presently I use my mobile as modem and get download 100-200 Kbps and upload around 40-90 Kbps. Now using AIS sim and get disconnected 1-2 times a hour. This surprise me because have a base station less than 50 meters straight outside my window.

Salespeople at Cat in Tukcom had expresscard with 3.1 Mbps and they claimed normal speed around 500 Kbps - real or not? Cost 5-7.000 to buy and 790 monthly.

Other faster choise without a inhouse telephone line?

Taken the few responses, I guess most of the foreigners in KK mostly eat thai food, I wish I could do the same, but too spicey for me ..smile.

Whole wheat bread - western hotdog - spaghetti - burgers - salami and much more, not to forget quality steaks.
