  1. So can anyone confirm or deny the road from BKK to Hua Hin the no.35 is now impassable? or is this just a stock photo? Although I do see it is saying North of Rama 2 at the moment

    Travelmann

I have, in the last hour, driven from Sathorn to Samut Sakhon using the Chaloem Maha Nakhon Tollway / bridge and them on Rama 2 (35) with no signs of any flooding. Traffic was light compared to normal.

Just past Rama II form Samutsakhon into BKK. No flooding yet!

  2. I think there's a lot more to this story than is being initially reported. While it may be true, I agree with the sentiments of those who wonder why this went for two years before being reported, and possible "motives" of the father of these girls. Another question I have is, being a foreigner, and the girls all being young, minor Thai, will he REALLY get a fair trial here, or will the judge be thinking "guilty" before the case is even presented? Everyone here knows the Golden Rule of Thailand - "A Thai is never wrong, and never to blame, and it's always the fault of the farang".

But we can always hope for the best. If it is true, then he deserves whatever the court slaps him with. If not, then charges need to be filed against the father for filing a false report. Just have to wait and see.

This is complete crap. I know endless court cases where the farang got his right! This is just the standard beer table opinion you can hear all the time.

  3. Do you think the death penalty can be used for most of the red shirt leaders? Just dig a ditch, throw them all in, and bury them alive. That or throw them out of a helicopter over the ocean....

that is a stupid comment tominbkk.

i live in a small village in ubon, where the people are mostly reds although only 2 went to bkk and returned after 3 days back in april. but the problems the people here have been brainwashed by thaksins populist policies and that is REAL...so what does this mean? it means alot of the reds are normal people who are generally from the country and are simple people(no offense). so you cant just say kill the leaders or these simpletons (paid by thakin etc) will be told to fight for the cause again and again...

also thailand is very corrupt even in a small village of 250 people there are vote buying schemes. my wife told me she got 500 baht for voting! so people here think its normal to except money to follow like the poor sheep they are... :)

peace to thailand...the poor/rural people desevre more, there are REAL poor people in this country

That's exactly the point and I am wondering why this fact is noit dicussed more! Everone who knows poeple form such villages is fully aware of the payments they get for each vote. Even on the local vollage level. As long as this is going on any democracy will fail misarably.

  4. Scum. Short and simple.

I agree, the're all scum even here in Pattaya with the baht buses and taxi motorbikes, cannot even park your small motorbike nowhere, even with no parking signs, like they own the streets (which they do by paying the police)

Pattaya isn't even close as bad as Phuket. In Pattaya you know your costs whenyou jump in to a SongTaeu (Pickup). In Phuket you will pay for about the same short distance 10 times the price of Pattaya. And on the end you still have discussions with hese nasty guys.

  5. A situation that could have, and should have been avoided.

As tourists they should have taken the guy's word and found another parking spot. You don't go to someone else's country and do what's you think is right in your country.

This guy who beat them is still a piece of human excrement and should be thrown in jail but I put some blame on the tourists.

It looks like you are real don't know the Tuk Tuk situation in Phuket. It is bad...very bad..and you can't blame these tourists Someone soul cleanit up. But everyone is afraid. Maybe also afrai also since all of them are Muslims??!!

  6. I purchased a used car from a colleague who was leaving Thailand. On the windshield was placed a ? disk that allowed entrance to the highway electonically b/c of payments made in advance. On a trip a few months ago my wife was told that "system" was discontinued. And of course no mention how to receive the money that was pre-paid on the card. LOL ah Amazing Thailand eh?

Maybe this is another attempt to get some Baht. Re-start the "system", require everyone to buy said card and then abruptly stop the system and keep the baht. ??????? Trickie thinking perhaps??? But nnnnaaaaaaaaaa never happen here in LOS (Lack of Sanctions)

They posted notices on the toll booths for over a month before the tags were discontinued. There indeed was no refund for unused amounts and they made that clear. Why would you have a tag that only worked on single expressway if you didn't use it reguarly.

You are really streching it, don't you think?

    TH

Sorry, this is not correct. We had several TAG cards within our company and all the stored money and the deposit was handed out by the EXAT
