I have been what many knee jerkers call a druggie for years. Funny thing is I never built a habit with cocaine, marajuana or speed. I always worked and was never off ill.

Since I have lived in Thailand I have cleaverly avoided drugs and just focused on alcohol. Problem is I now go through more booze that any other drug.

I used to view booze hounds as failures, but I now drink more than most of them.

Where did it all go wrong? How does anybody manage a week in BKK without a beer?

I need to stop, but simply can not imagine a city like BKK if I was sober.

Yes to all but 19 & 20. is that bad? 16 is very new, but it is fun at the time.

Now how do I stop without support? How do I decide that it is not for me when I enjoy it so much!

To be honest I KNOW for a FACT I drink too much too often. Yet I have sober pals that don't seem to have the same worries.

It is a source of mystery to me. Why do I worry and they don't?

Why is it some folks can have a few beers one day and not drink all week, yet I can't wait to drink away my worries about how much I drink?

I don't break stuff or miss work, I just need a few drinks to get by after I fininish work.

Do i really need to worry? Is it really a case of stopping for a month? I know that I can do 2 days at a push.

I have thought about a liver test to wake me up, but when I ws told i could not drink for two weeks I gave it a miss.

My simple question is, Is that bad?

I personally think that the mix of genes is something to enjoy. I look at my little girl and see her mums sticky-outy ears and my Kirk Dougless chin. Oh! the fun we will have.

I have only met one single negative remark from a female taxi driver in England. She said she felt sorry for out daughter because she would not know who she is. After some sarcastic "don't worry your pretty little head about it my dear", I explained that both Britain and Thailand have a long history to be proud of. No reason why she can not grow up proud of two heritages.

Some options are not available to me as a Mac user and I really would like to get to grips with Canon's own software. I have found what I can use to work well, but without some kind of function guide it takes a lot of time to eventually give up.

There must be some instructions somewhere, but I don't know where.

I am not trying to make a point here, but I stayed in an issan village for a week and discoverd the following things, all of which were on a single street.

2 nice houses built by farangs to retire in were now lived in by their EX-girlfriends and their families. The local view: They fell out of love just after the hoses were built.

A young girl that plodded from house to hose every morning had been dumped by her mother after her father died. She met a new man and told her daughter she would collect her in a few days as their was no room in the truck. 6 months later the girl lived on handouts and had NO word from her mum. The local view: Mum will comeback when she can.

Local wino staggered about asking for food and money. His wife left him and went to hel_l. The local view: He is sad.

Local guy in his 30s that did odd jobs had a wife in Bangkok who has a few American boyfriends and travels around with them. EVERYBODY knew and had no problem with the money she sent back. The local view: She is doing her best.

Clever kid with a chance of a scholarship will be pulled out of school at 13 to help run tiny family shop. The place seemed to sell beer and soap and little else. Seemed to me that the kid was doomed to a life of ignorance and crap jobs. The local view: Education is not as important as helping in the shop.

I know a taxi driver and he hates the security there. All on the take which eats into his profits.

I have an 'ELZE' from Tesco. We have used it for about 3 years and that includes taking it with us on holiday, not to enjoy the beach of course, and it it still works fine.

In the bedroom we have one of those Samsung tv/dvd packages from Tesco, which also works very well.

I used to work for a company that dealt with electronics and I saw trucks loaded with Hitachi and Philips tvs all of which were faulty. The guys used to tell me that they saw far less Sony or Toshiba stuff.

It is unfair to call Thai TV trash as trash has some use. Thai TV is the worst dribble to fill the idiot's lantern I have ever seen.

Firstly, I doubt it is supply and demand. Who asks for screaming bitches and comedy shows about grown men falling over? It is a case of no choice.

I also feel it is a large part of the reason why Thais struggle to think or use imagination. I grew up watching documentaries about apes. Thais grow up watching shows where a camera follows fat children around as they roll about in a sandpit ( I have seen it). They have no option.

As teenagers they are treated to similar shows about fighting robots or cute girls walking about with a constant barrage of penny whistles and boing sounds. Why they do that I have no idea.

As adults their view of the world expands to rubbish soaps and absurd shows that feature a man with a funny hat. NOTHING of substance at all.

I have bought the children in my family the fantastic BBC Planet Earth and they loved it. To support my point about Thai TV one of the older kids, while watching hammer head sharks, asked if they were real! All she had ever watched was Thai TV.

If anybody can answer this question I will be impressed. Why, when I walk through Tesco, do I see adults, teens and young kids all absorbed in the same shows?

Oh! I did not know that about Linux. I have used Macs for years, but my other half uses her PC and it is always having problems. I should look into it.

The idea that a person can live normally on drugs is a bit off. Work and relationships would be difficult to maintain, just like booze.

BTW, I have no problems with executing people. Seems fair, cheap and certain to prevent reoffending. The idea that society can evolve past the death penalty assumes individuals can evolve past commiting awful crimes.

I would suggest that Limewire is the worst thing to use. Often the files are loaded with viruses and mis labeled files.

A far better system is a torrent site. The famous Pirate Bay or Mininova are fine.

Buy the inter sim from 7-11. Works well if you wish to call home and can be used for local calls too. If you still have your 12call sim, check the website and choose the plan that is best for you. The default plan is always the most expensive.
