  1. I Hope its not getting any easier at the 10 week point a week tomorrow is when its really possible to get that SMS, incidently my wife had a letter from the embassy confirming payment for the visa arrived today dated 22/9 so not sure what is that about, anybody got this as well and is there a pattern to how long you get the letter to decision maybe it means the file has been picked up? (we hope)

Still no word from Mercury, could it be that he has been barred from posting for a while ? as some of his comments were a bit critical,I thought ,And I can remember someone else was not allowed to post for awhile.Lets hope all is well anyway.

I am so excited ,my step Grandchildren arrive tomorrw morning YIPEEEEE!!

  2. This is torture for me now. I've been waiting over 9 weeks and my Fiancee is 23 weeks pregnant. If it goes the full 12 weeks that it seems to ne taking she will be borderline safe to fly.

Oh dear I do feel sorry for you.Did you do the application yourself ,or use an agent ? We used a uk solicitor ,who contacted embassy as we were waiting so long ,and the next day the Passports were ready. So maybe you could do the same and explain its for medical reasons, even if you did the application yourself ,I would give it a try.

    GOOD LUCK

  3. Why has it all gone quiet?! I would like to know if Mercury has any news yet ?,as we applied for settlement on same day.

Just to let you know that my 2 lovely step Grandaughters have just collected their settlement visa.I have got great comfort from following other peoples waiting times .Thank you to those responsible for the lists in the past.----I still wonder why its all gone quiet! Good Luck to all who are waitng---its not a very nice game!

  4. Not sure what you mean when you say "solicitor sent e mail."

If an applicant has subscribed to the SMS service, then the VAC sends them a text to say that the passport is ready for collection.

If the embassy wanted to interview the applicant then they would contact them directly.

Who is this solicitor? Do you mean that you used an agent and they have sent this e-mail?

    Hello,

I now have a clearer picture,--my son and daughter inlaw used Uk Solicitor to help them .Apparently the solicitor contacted someone who told her the passports would be ready today. So she emailed my family to let them know, and since that, they have checked on line which was the way they asked to be told ,and the passports are ready for collection. So hopefully they can collect Monday ,and fingers crossed have aa favourable result

  5. Well I'm glad that's over with!!! team TiggerFish got the result we were looking for, visa for wife and stepson in hand.

Just need to get some vacation time booked and buy tickets for us all..... Wooo Hooo !!!!

So relieved!!!! Thanks everyone for your support.

Excellent News Tiggerfish good luck for you and your family in the UK..! :D

We have received confirmation that Passport is ready for collection, we will post on Monday when we have the result. We are just a little concerned we were the first out of sequence but also hopeful as he was not interviewed like last time. A long weekend ahead !

My thoughts are with you and your family Jason,I shouldnt worry too much abought being out of synch.I think maybe child applications are a little more involved.I hope on Monday its a Yes because my 2 step grandchildren are nearly at top of our list.

  6. Oh my goodness sounds like great news all round, the husband got his visa too. only took 2 attempts ,7 months and 74,000 baht. bargin!

good luck Jason and best of luck to all on the list.

    Skeets xx

CONGRATULATIONS!! to Skeets and Family and All The Best for Uni.Also to Team Tiggerfish!! and thank you for all the hard work you have put in ,keeping the list up to date, and trying to console all of us who are still waiting.

  7. Houston, we have lift off!!

Tigerfish please do the honours and mark us down as a success. Just got confirmation today. FANTASTIC FEELING. Good luck to all those waiting and thanks for keeping this thread running as it certainly gives hope and optimism for people waiting.

Got to go now, very busy still at work but will hopefully have a few to celebrate tonight if the tube strike is called off !!!

    GOOD LUCK TO ALL,

    Stam

Best wishes to you and your wife Stament,I feel for Jason and Chiang mai though, and am especially interested in Jasons case ,as I am awaiting for my step grandchildrens application.

    Good Luck everyone

  8. 30 day visa exempt entry requires onward travel within that time. If not best to have a free tourist visa for first entry to avoid any issue with airline. A land border entry would be for 15 days or air entry 30 days regardless of number.

Is the land re entry still 15 days for sure as that will be fine.

  9. I will be arriving inThailand Dec27th, for a 45 day holiday.I realise I can get an automatic entry for 30 days ,problem is I want to visit Laos and possibly Vietnam.then come back to Thailand and fly home Feb 11th.

Advice as to which visa please as I believe reentry is just for 1 week and I have no exact timings.

  10. At last, good luck Dubar !!

So pleased for you! I do hope you get the right result.! I had tears in my eyes as I read your news!! I realise that we on this thread are not the only ones waiting, but I do think it is an excessive time to have to wait.My son is in Thailand waiting for his step daughters result,Most people have a job at home ,my son is self employed, and its a long time to be away.If he comes home bet your bottom dollar they will get the SMS and have to go back!!!! Good Luck to all who are suffering1!

  11. really feel for you guys whos should have got this week i know it was murder for me so god knows what it like for you lads (and your wives of course) just look forward to monday lads its got to happen very soon, good luck all,

I dont know how you can be coping with wating over 9 weeks,I am waiting for step grandchildrens settlement, but only 6 plus weeks is bad enough.I wish you well, and really hope that you hear very soon.

  12. Hi, Does anyone know if the waiting time for a child settlement visa request to join her mother in the UK is the same as an adult or not, seems adults are taking around 6 weeks and we are hoping to get the daughters visa all sorted in a 3 week window when we will be in Thailand, or can I get the ball rolling now from UK. Thanks in advance

    Hello,

My step grandaughters settlement papers were placed on July 3rd-----still waiting.Their parents are waiting in Thailand now,but it does seem to take an age.We reckon between 7 and 9 weeks!!--good luck anyway

    Lonnie

  13. Could you add me to list please .I look daily, as waiting outcome of Step grand daughters application for ILR lodged July 6th.

    Thanks a lot.

Hi Lonnie, this thread is dedicated to settlement applications and they are submitted in Bangkok. Your Step daughters ILR would have been submitted in the UK and they have a totally different waiting time mechanism therefore it would render useless to inform the guys waiting on here as they will be waiting for something totally different.

Good Luck for her application though !
