I have used Sadao for many years when the need arose and never had any problems doing a one hour turn around. However, 3 weeks ago I went for a swift turnaround and was refused entry back into Thailand and was given a letter denying me entry. Had to go back out and spend a couple of days in Peneng sorting out a 60 day tourust visa. Seemingly this rule (law) has been in place for many years but the immigration stations have not enforced it.

TAKE IT FROM ME SADAO ARE ENFORCING IT, MINIMUM 1 DAY OUT OF THAILAND BEFORE YOU RETURN AND YOU MUST HAVE A RECOGNISED VISA WHEN YOU WANT TO RE-ENTER.

I have been doing my own for the last 10 years (or I should say my wife has).  We have a limited company and our accountant prepares all of the necessary paperwork and my wife then takes over.  Never had a problem.

I have been using a Remington for almost 11 years now and not a problem, I might add that it was bought at the Duty Free shop at Abu Dhabi airport. I cut my hair to No. 2 level and it works great.

We have a two bedroomed bugalow both on suite, a fairly large garden and lots of trees to care of. Our bill is always between Baht 450 and 500. This does not bother me in the least.

My wife has to move address in yellow books.

Go to the current ampur you are registered at, tell them you are leaving and they will remove you from the register and give you two transfer forms. The current jao baan or owner needs to be present.

Take these forms to the new ampur and they'll issue a new yellow book (with the permission of the owners) and transfer you on there.

This is exactly what I did, no hassle as the new owner of our bungalow in Songkhla is a friend. Simply paid a small fee, got a form of some sort and then my wife went to our new Amphur and had the yellow book in her hands after 20 minutes for a THB 20 charge, I didn't even have to tag along. Easy peasy.

You should try Songkhla if you want to experience a sensible Songkran.

Jeez, don't know what is wrong with you. I have been staying Thailand for almost 30 years and have probably attended 10 or 12 of these types of funeral. They love it when the Farangs turn up and you are made most welcolme. Good fun all round.

For the past seven years it has always been WP first following by an Extension of Stay for me. Renewing the WP takes only a day at my local office and as usual the Extension of Stay takes a maximum of 30 days. invariably the Immigration office will call and tell me to go and collect my passport, this usually between the 15th day and 20th day period.

Any chance of those fine people at Trendy House, BKK doing a tour of Thailand's extreme provinces for UK passport renewals?

I doubt that will ever happen. I have just renewed my passport (used an agent) and was told by them 2 to 3 weeks for the new passport to arrive. I have read many stories where people have had to wait anything from 4 to 6 weeks to get their new passport back, I got mine back in 17 days. The downside is that because my permission to stay was issued in Hat Yai then I will have to go there to transfer the visa from the old passport to the new passport, pain in the ass.

A fabricated stainless tray under the whole damn fridge with felt underneath so the parquet doesn't get scratched if it gets slid out for cleaning.

I remember when the high speed train was first announced I thai politician said it will be completed in 3 years. that was about 4 years so I take no notice of there timing as they are for the general public who tend to have a short term memory span.

If you live here in Thailand (and I mean live) don't you consider yourself to be part of the "general public" or are you a "hi-so" person?

As best as I can remember if you go out and come back in by air you will re-set to 30 days, if you come back in over land then you will be re-set at 15 days. I am sure the more experienced ops on the forum will give you a better picture.

I love Thailand. Love my wife dearly. If i went back i would be stuck in a country where nobody cares about others.

My wife is a school director, good job ,good pension.

If we went to UK she would lose that, she is 20 years younger than me, so have to think about her when i am gone.

What puzzles me here is if your wife is a school director then presumably she is out at work for the best part of the day. If this is the case who cares for you during her absence?

My internet provider in Bang Lumung always displays the green page whereas the internet provider where I work (not telling you where) accessing the Daily Mail home page is not a problem.

I have been here for almost 30 years and have never had any interest in learning to read or speak Thai. My current job is with a Thai company who I have worked with for more than seven years, the lack of Thai language skills certainly has not done me any harm with this company or with the social circle that I have.

I "would" much prefer this little beauty.

Best guess would be that there are no "P" traps or "U" traps which retain water and prevent odours coming out through the drains etc.
