  1. Actually, Stickman turned me on to Sunrise Tacos for their burger. It was like 180B for a half pounder and a steal. I missed them last week as they aren't in Emporium anymore. The best I've had is at Dallas Steak House (where Coyotes was at the entrance to 33). It was a 1/2 lb & perfect except for the price - 450B.

  2. There was a coupon for something like a 'Iphone 'screen doctor' on Ensogo or Groupon BKK a few days ago. It was crazy cheap < 600B for sure. Might be worth digging around to see if it's still there. ps: never mind I found it for you & I read the fine print. The title was misleading - it's 1150B for a 4s screen repair. He's in Asoke & gives you a 90 day guarantee: http://www.mygroupon.co.th/deals/shopping_en/dr-smartphone-1/718940212

  3. Concider getitng a hotel room for a monthly rate near a BTS.

Thanks, I've looked into it extensively & AirBnb gives a lot more bang for the buck. Expedia had some OK deals with a Flight & Hotel Package, but the maximum stay is 26 days & I need a few more.

  4. Kingston Suites on Soi 15, about 150 m N of Suk.

I stayed here before and wasn't a fan. The mattress was so old that the springs were compressed and weak on the primary side. When you sat up (as 1000 people had done before me), the mattress squished down almost completely. Luckily you could tell that mostly single occupants had slept here, so sliding over to the far side made it better.

Also, I remember the wifi being quite bad, but didn't care much at the time.

I did like the old timey decor of the rooms. Just bring in new mattresses, upgrade the wifi, and you've got yourself a nice hotel.

Thanks for the review. I was thinking of taking this place for a month. It gets really good reviews on TA. Bad bed & wifi are a big deal.

  5. My gf was losing a ton. Took her to Bumrumgrad, gave her a complete check up, and they gave her Rogaine. Not anemic + I give her a B multivitamin. She eats a lot of veggies, fruits, seafood, & meats. She's not afraid of the sun. Uses mild expensive shampoos. She's still using a ton. Guess I'll give the Zinc a shot.

  6. I still use Air Asia a lot. Their deceptive 'nickle and diming' certainly puts a bad taste in your mouth though. You have to deselect insurance about 4X ! I didn't want to pay their 12% fee for using a CC, so I went to their office in Phnom Penh. They had a fee for paying frigging cash ! And these guys are 'the Budget Airline of the Year' again ! Here's how you can win - Buy ahead of time - A LOT cheaper. Pay for overweight baggage in advance - WAY WAY cheaper. Feel free to cheat on carry ons. - They never check, (just don't put the bag in front of their faces). Pay the 100B for for a seat up front (just behind the Red Seats), if you're going through customs & just carrying on. - You'll be out the door ahead of everyone else. Don't use them for a tight connection to a long haul flight - They're late a lot and will cancel an under-sold flight at the drop of a hat. Once at DMK, just grab a taxi up at Departures. - The taxi queue ALWAYS sucks. If during 'Rush Hr', take the A1 or A2 bus outside Nok's baggage area to Mo Chit. Finally, the best advice of all - use Kayak and fly anybody else if the prices are close. FD isn't always cheaper..

  7. Villa Mkt has lots of great Oz wine. The prices are beyond ridiculous. Oz stuff that costs me $10 in the States is 2000B. Paid 1400 for a Ringbolt Cab - thought that was a deal for Thailand. If you're in BKK, sitting and drinking - Zaks Wine Bar on Soi 11 sells Peter Lehman Shiraz for around 200/glass. Consequently I go there a lot. The Wine Bar at the Pullman has good deals certain nights too. Otherwise it's dam_n near worth flying to PNH just for the wine ! jts

  8. Fare enough gentlemen. Jeez you're a suspicious lot..The Millenium at 2600 was outed on Flyertalk. The Kingston I found on Trip Advisor from someone who booked this month. You took a serious hosing if you paid 2600 for the Admiral. 1200 is about right. The Mystery deal is only good if you know what hotel you're going to get in advance. People who book them have this information. It's the same with Priceline, if you go to Better Bidding and Bidding for Travel you can figure out how to bid to get the hotel you want and what others paid. Good luck to all; jake
