  1. I bought a small thin paper back book with English stories to help with my sons English reading, i was at the railway station and my train was arriving so i had no time to look at the book before paying. It was awful, it was an educational book, the syntax and spelling was all over the place, i threw it away it was that bad

I believe that Sandman found that book.

  2. No, it is the Austrians who make the cookoo clocks.

Living in Switzerland can actually be fun. When asked if i speak Swiss, or Swedish or whether Swaziland gets hot in the Summer.

No no and i don't know.

Germany, don't know much about it. My brother lives in Munich and that's quite nice. Skating on the frozen river, the beer etc.

And the German people i know are just normal people like you and me. Nothing odd about them at all.

Oh come on Charlie, that's not an indulgence, that's a time machine back to your (misspent) youth.

And another thing, will you stop chopping and changing your avatar?

You confuse me some mornings when I log on to find that my (naughty) posts have been removed by a moderator with no fixed avatar. biggrin.png

  4. I am somewhat dissapointed with the replies, while there have been many worthy contenders, there have been some omissions, Geoff Hurst, Bobby Moore, Minnie The Minx, Desperate Dan, Roger The Dodger etc etc.

However the greatest living hasnt yet been mentioned, we have met him everywhere in Thailand from Pukhet, Samuai, to Pattaya and Bangkok.

Please gents get you thinking caps on, heres a hint, he even lurks on this forum.

Stop it RGS, you're making me blush.

  5. Hi, is there anyone on the board who can tell me how to permanently change the language on an I-mobile Hitz12 phone?

I have visiting customers next week so bought 3 of these phones a couple of weeks ago, the idea being that the customers have a cheaper connection with each other, myself and my office than using their own phones on roaming.

Anyway, I set the phones up, set the language to English and no problems (so far) but when I turn the phone off and then back on the language jumps to Thai.

At first I thought that it was something to do with the sim cards but I tried my own sim card, which I have used for around 14 years without a problem but the same thing still happens.

I called to the I-Mobile call center and the best advice that they could give me was to change the language to English and then never turn the phone off again (really).

    So any ideas?

  6. due of your above mentioned restrictions i will refrain from answering...wink.png

Oh come now CC, what about Jamie Oliver? biggrin.pngbiggrin.png

You can't even nominate the world's best chef, as he's Scottish.

OK a serious reply-Marco Pierre White(even he is just half a Brit)...

Good call but only half a point for half English. laugh.png
