Just went to Tesco (pattaya) Thaparasit rd/Sukhamvit , and just over the road on the corner to soi khaow Noi it looks like the reds are starting to build there stage again on the big plot of land that used to be a market a few years ago.

Its actually Soi Kho Talow, and Sukhumvit Road there is a large red shirt presence selling shirts and other red parafanalia including water etc i will be staying away from this area tomorrow as i live on Soi Khowtalow

If you are applying for the extension of stay based on retirement. You now need to provide a map from Immigration to your house.

How ridiculous is this? Immigration cant read an address? If someone has a detailed map of my moo ban...please let me know.......I've never found one.

Pumpuiman if you download "google earth" to your computer you can actually zoom in to your local area and print this off marking on the map your actual house this is what i did to obtain the dependent visa for myself as i have a Thai wife and 2 daughters - the immigration dept accepted this. Hope this assists you.

I really don't understand this "New Luxury tax on internet usage in Thailand"

Just received a PM from Administration telling me that all Thaivisa Members who haven't actually been in Thailand since January 1, 2007 will be disconnected as from tonight because of the high costs involved. Just members & posters living in Thailand or very frequent visitors are allowed to stay 'onboard' with Thaivisa.... That's utter nonsense!

I haven't been in LOS since some 5 months ago, but I feel discriminated now !

Why on earth would I be disconnected from Thaivisa?

Anybody else received this message ?

Do you realy believe that, this is obviously a local trying to rip off a Farang who justifiably argues the point about the correct fare and comes off the worst - remember the young couple killed by the "Police officer" the Thai's tend to over react to a situation.

It would have been easier for "HIM" the Tuk Tuk driver to call the law and explain the situaton, he would have come off better without the assault charge as we all know the Thai's favour Thai's over a Farang

Intersting list. The only problem is proving it. Proving that men in uniform have appoited their friends in state enterprises and have breached the trust of their sharholders is much easier. How about trippling the economic growth? Or having been able to reduce the death of infants in half? Having been able to reduce the tea money that the friends of the couptakers asked for a place in university or demonstration schools? having supplies the poor with microcredit (not a bad thing given the nobel prize this year), or having been able to help out the poor when their was a disaster (Have not yet seen a hirake in uniform this time, maybe they were too busy). Or what about having reduced the number of children addicted to drugs. And did Thaksin not get his satellite license from the last military government, as well the mobile phone license? Some people must have profitted? It is so easy to make a list, substantiating is much more of a headache.

Wait till that other general Chavalit makes a list about those other generals, that would be more fun.

By the way what happened with the freedom of speech, that Sondhi could use to criticize Thaksin? Why aren't we treated with the same courtesy?

Cant have been suicide, there were no condo's in the vacinity.

This is becoming a regular occurance, but like all the rest it will be quickly hushed up and the culprits NEVER convicted, after all this is Thacksins Thailand, and if he can authorise the killing of over 3000 alleged drug dealers what is one farang death???
