I am certainly glad they are able to capture these nefarious prostitutes. I mean how do they expect us farangs to come here with all these prostitutes about? Next thing you know they will tell us there are prostitutes in Bangkok/Krunthep the capital of Thailand! I applaud the brave efforts of these police in Phuket to capture these awful women who stain the reputation of Thailand. Here here!

The U.S government is so hypocritical. We sell arms all the time to fund bad people. You mean to tell me that by spending 5 million dollars(I am just estimating...) to prosecute this guy I am suppose to feel safer in my home? They are just trying to get him because he is high profile. This is pathetic. The U.S is definitely off the deep end. Instead of spending the money to help our homeless and children we are spending our money in Thailand to prosecute this guy who will be replaced in 5 seconds by the next "merchant of death".

Being a US citizen who pays taxes. I see better use of my tax dollars than to try to get this guy who is just doing his job. It will take all of 5 seconds for someone else to supply arms to all the people who wants it. If you need weapons, there is no lack of people who will happily supply you with anything you want.

As my Thai friends tell me. There is English and then there is Thai English. The corollary to that statement is that there is Logic and then there is Thai Logic. 30,000 Chinese members?! Most of my Chinese friends always ask me if Thailand is a safe country to come for vacation and I always tell them, yes, of course! They never believe me and thus far none of them visits me here 30,000 members indeed.

Fundamentally, it has to do with the issue of trust. I mean when a farang come to Thailand for a vacation he/she is trusting that Thailand will take care of them to the best of her ability. Which means beautiful beaches, friendly and well attentive services etc...

However, if those criteria is not met. For example you are unable to return to your home country for some reason. e.g., flight canceled, H1N1 or something. Then you will have to reconsider your options next time you travel. I mean there are other destinations besides Thailand that the vacationers could go to, such as Bali, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Japan, Brazil, United States, Australia,...etc.

What I am stating is that if Thailand does not care for the Tourist dollars that is out there. I think there are plenty of alternatives that the rest of the world will avail themselves of. Then Thailand is just stuck with the cheap foreign tourists that wants cheap female companionship.

Look on the bright side. It is a great time to be buying up these hotels and resorts! I might consider some properties in Silom and Phuket.

The Thais are always 1 tick behind everyone else. Then they make up for it in their voracity. The same fatality rate applies for both the H1N1 as every influenza that hits the world every year. Thousands of people die from Influenza every year. It's just that this one has more publicity.
