  1. put a boom across half of the pond, add some floating plants such as lemna(duckweed) or riccia, the will cover the surface and remove nitrate and phosphate as it grows, this will stop the water getting green naturally (outcompeting the microalgae) and also providing some shade for the fish, you can harvest the every 6 weeks and throw away or put on the garden as compost, put some elodea or other submerged oxygenating plant in the other half and you will solve your problem naturally.

This will only work if you pond recieves a good deal of sunlight.,

    No electrical wires needed.

  2. Having been in Perth last Christmas and having to wear a fly net constantly, and in rotto and on the Margret river there are no way near the amount of flies here. The ones in Oz are terrible in your eyes, up you nose all over any cut you have. i love Oz but the flies, you can keep.

  3. I'm considering a visit to Phuket in either September or October and I have looked at the rainfall averages. I was in Phuket once the end of May and there were some pretty heavy rains but rather refreshing.

My question is am I crazy to go during these months? Will I need an umbrella or wetsuit?

I'm looking at tooling around the island on a motorbike, having a few brewskis and perhaps looking for possible marketing positions.

    Any guidance appreciated.

I could be excellent to pretty grim, sea will most likely be fairly rough with a decent swell. There is always plenty to do though.
