.
This really surprises me. I was sent there in 97 and absolutely loved it. Lived in Manila CBD and I was last there at the end of 2000 - has it changed that much?
Agreed the standard food is, to say the least, a tad disappointing.....
Best time was during the Marcos's era....especially Mabini, rows of go-go bars....Chinaown Qiapo where pretty models paraded in the nude right in from of you..

Visited Manila once or twice a year between 1982 - 1985 - absolutely loved it.

Using the men's room in our office building it is quite shocking to see how few of the Thai men actually do wash their hands - and that includes those having used the bum gun.
At most they will just quickly wet their hands - but only to rearrange their hairdo.

Fear Artist, Hallinan. I really do enjoy the Poke Rafferty series, one of the few that get better with each book.
+ 1 for Hallinan
I found 'Breathing Water' as a free digital copy and then went on to buy all Poke Rafferty books from Amazon.
In the same league if not better than Burdett.
I wasn't aware of this aware of this author so i did a google on him.
Looks interesting and Ill be keeping an eye out for them.
Same here - found him by chance when doing a search on gnooks.com.

1m GBP for a season! that's absolutely insane.
The article says '....until the end of the 'Thai PL season' - which apparently is only 9 games away. That brings it to Bt 5.5 mio per game.
m I making a mistake? That would be ridiculous!

Try this mob
Thanks JaiLai so the best is 1300 Baht per pax at this moment.
Anyone else knows a better rate than this ?
The way I see it, it is 700 baht/pax.
1300 Baht if you want the electric cart as well.

Some really strong teams in Pot 3 - might even be stronger than Pot 2. Plus Dortmund in Pot 4.
Great potential for some really interesting and competitive groups.

If you like Harlan Coben you will definitely enjoy Linwood Barclay.

After the match, Schaefer lashed out at the Football Association of Thailand (FAT) for its poor management and lack of professionalism.
Four Thai players missed their initial flight to the Middle East because they forgot to bring their passports.
"The Thai FA must change its coordinators. It's a shame that four players missed the flight," said the German.
Sompop Nilwong was with the team but Schaefer only knew he was not eligible when they were in Oman because the FAT failed to resister him for the World Cup qualifying with the Asian Football Confederation.
"There must be changes," he said.
Schaefer said Thailand's preparations for the Oman match were improper with only five players joining the training camp on the first few days of training because many players had to play for their clubs while others were not released by their teams.
Meanwhile, Anucha Nakasai announced his resignation as Thailand's manager saying he did not have time to look after the team.
What the hell is going on lads ???????????
Sounds to me as if Schaefer is on his way out....

Who do I tip?
I don't believe that they will appoint anybody before the Euro tournament.
Stuart Pierce will take over for now and if England does well in the Euros he will probably have a good chance to be appointed as manager.
Other than that? What about Guus Hiddink? He is without a job now.

Did you hear?.....they've exonerated the captain of the Italian cruise ship on medical grounds.
Apparently he suffers from premature evacuation....

Our daughter flew back to Europe on TG a couple of weeks ago. One suitcase with almost 25 kgs, no questions asked.
Can't see that 22 kgs should be any problem.

Try:
Ari Pet Hospital
Address:
42 Soi Aree 5 Pahonyothin Road Bangkok, Thailand
Phone:
66 2 271-3182
We had to have one of our cats euthanized there.

It's also on CNN now.

This is ridiculous.
I travel extensively throughout the region as well as to Europe and the only time I had to give up my lighter was in Medan. In Perth I had 2 disposable lighters in my briefcase and they asked me to give up one.
Never ever anywhere else and that includes Singapore.
-
Personally I would put the empty box into the suitcase and keep the lighter in the hand luggage.
Eh? Why's that? That's likely to get him nabbed and the lighter confiscated for sure..
Ironically I just read in another thread about another poster who had his lighter confiscated while entering the states and it was in his checked bags but honestly I think that was a one off and not likely to get confiscated in checked baggage.
You can also put the lighter in your jacket or trouser pocket but I would never pack an expensive piece like that in the suit case and on the odd chance that Thai customs actually check your luggage they will only see an empty box which also will not show on any x-ray.

Agree that Calibre should be the way to go however I found that there are quite some issues when converting PDF to Mobi. I did it a few times and the whole formatting was off, odd spacing and you could no longer make out any paragraphs. Not sure what will happen to the photos included in your document.
On the other hand you can of course also view PDF files on a Kindle however the navigation is a b_tch.
Best recommendation I can give is to read the PDF file on a laptop or tablet.

Have a look at zenithautosport.com
They did all the 'accessorising' of our Hyundai Starex incl. skirts, spoilers and chip tuning.
Any pics?
Sorry, no have but it looks almost exactly the same as the black one ('Version 2') they show on their website - minus the the satellite dish.

Thailand is the only country i know of in the world that officially celebrates -with gazetted holidays- 3 New Years. Christian new year,Chinese new year jan/feb and Thai new year songhkran. Nothing much happens in Thailand for the first 4 months of the year because everyone is either pissed or away up country.
Not a good time to be here in Bangkok .Everywhere people are banging cymbals and making us much noise as they can in practice for Songkran new year celebration in April. IOf you go to the beach there will be people letting off fire crackers louder than a jet flying low overhead.
Look at Malaysia - they celebrate 4 New Years - Christian, Chinese, Hindu and Islamic.
Singapore also celebrates 3 New years.

I could kick myself for not having applied for PR 10 years ago when it was somewhat affordable and obviously also easier to get.
