  1. Well, Mr. Condescending, the relevance of that number it is my cost per unit for electricity. During the past year, my monthly usage has ranged between 737 and 343. The cost per unit doesn't appear to change much except for minor Covid discounts and at times the add-ons vary. My cost usually ranges between 4.25 and 4.05 and not depending on usage. It has never been 4.35. The above link says increase doesn't start until May, so I wonder what this is about?
  2. Just got PEA bill. Total amount divided by units consumed = 4.35. Never above 4.25 previously.
  3. I have a large Samsung inverter refrigerator that is not easy for me to hear if it is running or not. It is most obvious when it goes into defrost mode (at least I think that is why) and I can easily hear it running. Otherwise, I have to put my ear on the skin in attempt to determine. So, just saying that your unit might be like that. The only way to know for sure if it is not running is if you see a temperature drop.
  4. RE grease trap: Had one in the states years ago and never again. First, it promotes dumping used oil, grease, etc. down the sink and that is bad, very bad. Second, it smells terrible. Third, it needs periodic cleaning out which is a disgusting process. Did I mention the smell. Fourth, if you put off the cleaning or forget, you end up with a problem much worse than if it was never there.
  5. Have you ever had a grease trap? For me, never again. A lot easier to just not put grease down the drain.
  6. As I mentioned in my previous post, we have the kitchen sink discharge go to the end of a garden. It doesn't smell or seem to bother anything. Actually it seems to promote spontaneous growth; the latest being a tomato plant that delivered 20 some small tomatoes. The washer discharge goes to another area that is mostly the gravely clay common here. That does not seem to have an effect on anything one way or the other. IMO much better than going to the septic.
  7. Yes. Large side by side bought 7 years ago. Hardly shows up on energy meter. Nothing gets hot. Consistent temps.
  8. We started with two cesspits, one for black, one for grey. It turned out that the idiot builder connected the kitchen sinks and the washer to the black and we were constantly needing to get them sucked out. First thing I did was connect the black to the grey (with inverted PVC) and added a leach pipe to the grey. Note: a leach field is what makes a "septic" system. I then diverted the washer output and the kitchen sink output to the garden. Everything has been good for 6-7 years now and never have to get the tanks sucked.
  9. That is my recall. Seems a strange requirement when filing a report of foreign holdings.
  10. Should be unless they have the old style behemoth that sucks all the amps out of the grid. Be aware that maximum sustained output is no more than about 80% of rating.
  11. Look for something in red or a blank field that needs input. Is the phone number a valid US number?
  12. I cut off the rest of your statement and getting ideas already. ????
  13. Local nursery should be able to provide. My wife went in 12 years ago and came back with 100 or so - maybe more - for a 30m section. They grew quickly and stopped erosion. Now, they keep the dogs and chickens out but need a lot of trimming. ????
  14. I have a 6kVA Welpro from Do Home that has been a trooper for several years now. It's petrol but a reliable diesel was beyond my budget. And, agree with the thought of getting PEA at this point. If you want to have grid power eventually, you might as well start with construction service. BTW: any generator above about 2kVA is not very "portable". It might have wheels but they are very heavy.
  15. Are you trying to raise above a flood level? Or, what is the purpose of 1.5m? In any case, when you build, you will need to put the footings below the fill no matter how long you leave it to compact. And, you really need to protect the edges from erosion with a retaining wall or a thick hedge.
  16. If you can get to where the plug cable is connected to the base plate, suggest you just replace the whole cord. Maybe you still have some other appliance that has died and can use the cord from that? Or, ask around. Somebody probably has a dead rice cooker you could scavenge.
  17. If the plug gets hot and not the wire, then the plug might have been damaged at some point. If you have a watt meter installed or can determine the amp draw when the kettle is on, if it is more than about 7A there is likely some kind of fault in the plug.
  18. The nut should turn independent from the hose. Unless you got something really cheap. ????
  19. He will be using wi-fi for internet so I think just needs One-2-Call for any voice calls.
  20. My friend will be bringing his older iPhone (IOS 12.5.5) after terminating his SIM contract in the UK. Can he simply go to AIS shop and get a new SIM? Best to do in Bangkok or the airport? Thanks.
