  1. Are there not enough "family friendly" places in Thailand? Do they really need to start messing with this place? In fact arn't the only two places in Thailand that are more Adult oriented, Pattaya & Kho Panag's full moon party. And no I'm not talking about a few lil strips in BKK like Soi Cow Boy, either I mean proper resort destination wise.

Are u for real? Just cause this is Thailand should they allow adults to behave and cavort on drugs?

Theres a lot to look at with this new idea the Thai's are putting together. Pangnan wont work as a family destination, the island is not geared up for it. Where will the future parties be held?? Whos gonna buy all the new boats to get (real holiday makers) there and back to Samuii or the the mainland? Pangnan makes more money in the few days before and after the full moon than most resorts make all month, families could get no where near the takings that the party people hand over. Shit, we could go on forever. Best leave it how it is, a small % of foreigners get caught with whatever, most pay up before it goes further, some do a bit of jail before court in Surathani, they usually all pay around 1000GBP, may have gone up a bit these days. <deleted> are the thais saying, the country has been a haven for adventurers, traders, drug users, suppliers, prostitutes, pimps, families, sinlge people, groups and all the other visitors that come and go,

and more often than not they say, "I love Thailand".

I do love thailand and want to live here full time eventually, but F==K, if they keep moving the goal posts, i think i might look elsewhere. Im not such a huge raver these days but have done my time in pangnan over the last 15 years, its a cool place and should be left as it is. Let the cops get their share of arrests and and dont start sticking up fancy hotels and spars.

Actuually, i dont think you will see much change within the next 5 years.

  2. Yes, thats definately one thing that happens alot in Thailand.

Its kind of like the idiots that try to get into the lift before the people inside it get out.

Pathetic people only concerned for themselves. :)

Classic, im moving part time to Thai next year, im full time in China now. It will be good to know that i will be faced with the same que jumping problem, surely it cant be as bad as it is here, the ignorant t-ats that do it here, usually get behind you once youve pulled them up about it, not many make a scene, but then the person originally behind you lets them in and says nothing, on the other hand, ive done it myself when i was late for a flight, i just went to the front and said im late, nobody said a word, i could imagine someone saying this back home in sheffield, what you'd get is a polite <deleted>> off mate, get up earlier next time. But here its worse with the driving, most people here only take a multiple choice driving exam, this can usually be bought for 600USD without turning up, then they get out on the road, f--kin mayhem, but in thai, they seem to have a more fluid way to their driving, a bit fast at times but still beats the sh-t out of China

i forgot, the lifts, man thats the most stupid thing that goes onn, imagine 6 people trying to get out, and 4 trying to get in before them, nutters

  4. Maybe I have been watching too much Mission Improbable, but shirley, the spooks or even Jason Bond could keep this out of the courts - or at least give him an ultimatum - 'want to be bourne again?'

How about a little 'rendition' of that old song - by Jim Morrison?

i find it strange, for the last century USA have been selling arms, or even giving them away to the side they thought more righteuos than the other, in reality, they supplied the people they thought they could get the most out of. U cant leave the uk, dutch, german, japanese and many countires out of this, but one russian sels a few pop guns and bang, he's f----d. Come on US, give him a break, aint it true that the US even made ontracts for him to sell his bad gear?????

  5. When I first started coming to Thailand I would just go to a taxi and ask how much and would usually pay around 500Baht. Then I discovered the meter. Since then my average taxi fare is around 250 Baht to the other airport or downtown. I think this is a great bargain compared to the states. So what is an illegal taxi? I was overcharged due to my own ignorance. At the time I thought 500 was a fair price. I've been to Suvi 3 times the last 4 months and have never been hassled. Just ask for a meter taxi and no problem. This sounds like some kind of publicity stunt to make tourists think they are not being scammed. Is anyone's arm really being twisted to make them pay more than the regular fares?

Yeah, this is a funny one. Myself and many more on their first visit to Thailand are thinking, im notgonna get ripped off, and before they know it, me included, get stung within 2 minutes of walking out the airport. Metre taxis everytime, i'd rather pay that bit more and have some kind of insurance cover. Mind you, some of those guys thnk its a race to get you there quick. Im sure after a few visits evryone realises that its always more expensive in the scammer taxis at the airport.
