  1. QED Interpol:

"Last year passengers were able to board planes more than a billion times without having their passports screened against INTERPOL's databases. As far back as 2002 following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, INTERPOL created its SLTD database to help countries secure their borders and protect their citizens from terrorists and other dangerous criminals known to use fraudulent travel documents.

Since then INTERPOL's database has grown from a few thousand passports and searches to more than 40 million entries and more than 800 million searches per year, averaging 60,000 hits. The US searches this database annually more 250 million times; the UK more than 120 million times and the UAE more than 50 million times.

Unfortunately, few member countries systematically search INTERPOL's databases to determine whether a passenger is using a stolen or lost travel document to board a plane."

  2. The passport and stolen identities and the ticket routings suggest another new refugee processing corridor to Europe. The Euro direct route through Sri Lanka and other transits are long since policed out of existence. Probably hapless Syrians or other ethnicities paying their way to Europe through the usual immigration gangsters in Thailand. Routed out of countries where it is not suspicous to see Arab-looking males or females routed through onward destinations or transits where no one is looking for them, and they are fitted with 'kosher' stolen passports with pix fixed to match - an easy fix these days. The same might apply for the method being used to smuggle in coke since they are coming from non-coke origins but with bags of it easily sourced in Thailand or Asia, wherever you see the west African cartel mules...the drugs smuggling option would explain why a Chinese face or two was involved...long shots but...

  3. Sounds characteristic of a premeditated but drunken attack with the broken bottle ready as a weapon.

These are usually attacks spurred by a perceived slur or insult on the attacker or from having

been too friendly with the retard's partner - perhaps inadvertently.

Thai 'guys' get insanely jealous when drunk and of course with most you are dealing with an

incomplete deck of cards - intellectually and emotionally.

Best to confine yourself to your own world - which is just how the Thais like it of course.

  4. How could any right minded person favour Thaksin just because Suthep was doomed to failure? This forum is padded with Thaksin sympathisers, idiots or both...the amnesty bill is toast as should Thaksin's aspirations to return home unheeded be. Thailand is morally bankrupt right now and a laughing stock again in Asia as the ASEAN 'brotherhood' approaches. Thaksin has destroyed any credibility the country might have had, a result of his manoeuvres to outwit the dumb-shit masses, and the elites who despise him. I despise him too as I try to teach my children that their country is still a nation to be proud of - albeit with increasing difficulty. They do understand however that sister Yingluck is the equivalent of Palin being president in the trusty US of A. That was an easy fix!

  5. The man is a troll:

ergo - One who posts a deliberately provocative message to his perceived audience with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument.

or - Someone being a prick because they can. Typically unleashing one or more cynical or sarcastic remarks on an innocent by-stander, or at least talking shit.

I always see them as physically and mentally stunted gremlins creeping around trying to outsmart people dumber than them so he can steal their futures...

  6. Here is an idiot of the worst kind who thinks he can hold back the hordes who want to bring his little party game to an end by cordoning off head office!

Only in a country like Thailand could you pull this kind of stunt off - running a nation's affairs from a Dubai hotel room via Skype

and LINE. But only a very foolish person would imagine that this travesty could continue without the people of Thailand eventually tumbling

to his fraud. Can you imagine that nearly every leader in the world knows that this egomaniac is pulling this off and knowing that they therefore can

never take this country seriously again. China of course will be rubbing her hands as it has found a major SE Asian hub it can finance (2 trillion Baht loan anyone?)

and make its own. Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia - yes Mr Thaksin you are doing a great job in the pocket of your masters.

  7. There are a number of foreign organised criminal gangs controlling Pattaya on an almost street-by-street basis, tolerated by the 'authorities' as the 'bonuses' pour in. They are from Pakistan, Bangladesh, London, Israel..the list goes on - all making a fortune from prostitution and 'software peddling' - which is what they call trafficking girls abroad. As for the paedophiles, for years they have walked the streets with kids in tow and publicly sexually abused kids in broad daylight on certain beaches - totally ignored by the authorities. Pattaya is what it is because of crime and the filth who live from it. I watched the Russians arrive in secret Soviet air force flights from Russia to U Ta Pao in the nineties, organised by the Thai and Russian militaries - a 'neat' arrangement which opened the can of worms you see today..to expect the Thai authorities to do anything about the usery and grim profiteering, is the main flaw of the Huffington 'story', but good on them for trying...the real Russian story is Phuket!

  8. A one-shot assassination while both vehicles were moving speaks of professional killers, probably military-trained and certainly used to handling guns.

May find she is a victim of jealousy, refusing divorce, the honest partner in a partnership gone sour, or she was someone hindering a deal or transfer.

Classic Thai murder - cowardly, and by someone else for sure, other than the 'client'.

The pick-up will be Bangkok-registered, thus the missing plates, and the assassins likely army-trained bodyguards/hitmen, rented from Hua Hin or the capital.

Police will have been alerted to ignore the pick-up's progress returning to the north.

  9. The element of surprise is entirely inappropriate given the entire project was supervised by Thaksin's crew and managed by AOT, the

the most bare-faced mafia ever to gain serious control of a public service in Thailand - even including the SRT; and supervised by the most corrupt of all the Ministries - Transport. When Thaksin forced the goons to open the airport too soon, it was a year behind schedule because of the fixes required...did he care? When a clown runs the show, you get what you expect. The corrupt in Thailand will stoop to any level to outdo their hideous cronies. And that's why you have half an airport, floating on an old swamp with half the concrete missing...I believe there were some expat engineers involved too in this laughable project...any word from any of them recently?

  10. Where are we in the hit parade of stabbing and mugging tourists; beach rapes and murders; poisoning of innocent travelers; killing retired Scandinavians; boiler room scams; on and off-duty police killing innocent citizens; homicidal rich kids killing pedestrian and other drivers in cars they can't drive..the lists go on. Surely the TAT must have this kind of valuable data to make available to tourists and travel professionals. Surely they are not trying to pretend that Phuket, Pattaya and the various outlying islands are not among the most dangerous tourist destinations in the world. Are they?

You know about it all, that's why you stay away from Thailand.

You do stay away don't you ?

I have lived here for 30 years. And my irony is obviously a bit too much for some newcomers....but I reiterate my point...the dangers tourists face here are very real...if they happen to be carrying enough cash or pick the wrong bar girl...TAT is a sham...hundred nay thousands of staff hiding behind an enormous budget spent almost entirely on global ad space and TV ads..leaving 'just enough' to pay themselves salaries their US counterparts would envy...TAT wins awards based on how much they spent that year on advertising with the magazine awarding the kudos...

  12. Thaksin kindly remodelled the armed forces when last in power - gently re-engineered to suit whatever circumstances might befall his planned 20+ year tenure in power (which of course came to an abrupt end).

He got the plan wrong, but since then, behind the scenes, Thaksin has made a number of secret moves which guarantee no general in power today will ever harm him. Thai generals have never been so wealthy and the potential sharing of the pot that lies ahead - Thaksin's sequestered 4.5 billion Baht - will keep them on his side for the duration. And help let him in again. If there is a 'coup' it will be engineered from Dubai to let Thaksin back in to 'save the day'!

  13. What I can tell from reading this article it is mainly the non-thai's that are causing all the trouble in Phuket. Or maybe they still can't admit it is the Thai's that are causing most of the problems down there.

What you are reading through the 'snow' is that the Tourist Authority of Thailand has been discovered issuing completely fictitious statistics suggesting the sector is booming still. This heavily-financed propaganda protected the agency from the unassailable truth that tourism Thailand is in its' worst-ever doldrums and Thaksin and the redshirt nonsense have destroyed Thailand's once genuine reputation as one of the world's most hospitable nations - once a wonderful place to visit and enjoy. But the fat cats at the TAT are watching this painful truth emerge so of course they have to find the scapegoats - anyone other than the Thais who are in fact to blame. Top TAT officials earn millions masquerading as marketing gurus and most can't even spell ROLEX! The shit has hit the fan - the game is up again! And reason things are so bad...I mean - a 5' 2" Nepalese shirt-maker pimp attacking and beating hapless Europeans on the sidewalk in broad daylight for not coming into his owner's shop??? I rest my case!
