  1. I was at the Thai Kitchen last night in Kata. its on Kata road across from club med, just a little in off the main road. I have to say in my 3 weeks here this is what i found to be the Gem in Kata. Everynight two guys play live music for hours and are very very good, so good at some stage I will upload some video to utube and post a link if thats ok with the mods ?

Along with the good music is the exceptional food and service at Thai Kitchen, The staff were above and beyond to make you welcome, the price was also more than reasonable. As far as I could make out it was thai family restaurant. If I was giving a star rating this would be 5 out of 5

Also the toilet was spotless, which is hard to come by in most places in Phuket i find.

So if you in Kata for a evening and want a nice reasonable priced meal, with some good entertainment and a few beers, I would by all means recommend the Thai Kitchen.

Thanks tol Thai kitchen for making my stay in Phuket extra special B)

Have to go home in 2 days, depressed of my head :realangry:

  2. Can anyone recommend someone around Kata, just got a cracked tooth

I see a nice new place on Patak Rd just opposite the Kata fresh market. Maybe worth a try if you live in Kata.

Only over on holidays mate, staying at the ibis hotel and have to go back wensday, see a place up the road called happy smile I think !

I have no idea where Patak Rd or the fresh market is. Thanks for your help.

Think that is the place I was talking about. From Ibis turn right, then take the first road on right, dentist is the end left corner (that's Patak Rd), about less than 10 min walk. Best of luck ....

Went there first thing this morning mate, its called Kata beach dental clinic, got 3 fillings and teeth cleaned 3,600 bath excellent value for money and only took 2 hours, no appointment just walked in and the worked started in the next 10 mins. that swhat I called first class service. The clinic was very clean the staff very helpful, didn't force any work, advised what work should be done, english not great but good enough to understand everything. Dentist very professionally didn't need an injection, the dentist was manner was 120%. I would recommend this dentist to anyone who is a bit nevours around dental treatment. This treatment would have cost me around 15-20,000 Bath in my country (Ireland)

Thanks living in Kata, I owe you a beer ;)

  4. Ìm only here on hols, so im only giving a tourist point of few, I get a tuk tuk here 20 min ride maybe 400 bath ( 10 Euro)

I got a taxi in Sorrento in Italy a few years back and 5 min ride €20, they even charge more for it been Sunday

Now when you are getting alot of Tuk Tuk it does add up, but thats my missus fault, she won,t get on the back of a bike with me.

What I find really annoying is going into a bar and getting 10 vodlkas and pineapple and be able to walk home straight, thats just wrong , but its Phuket and that just tells me not to drink anything other than what is in a seal bottle from that bar . Funny old world eh

  5. Sorry I also meant to say the people are really nice here also, except for the very annoying suit sellers, but I get that as they are only trying to make a living, rather them than me !

  6. Thank you all, I was allowing it around 10%, as the food or drink is not expensive here anyway, to be honest we havent had a bad meal or bad service once since we have been here and have fell in love with the place and the coulture. Even the rain is not bothering us :)

  7. Hi everyone,

I was thinking about moving to Phuket someday and about a business i could start over here. I used to import cars from Japan to Ireland as a business here at home. I have notice when in Phuket the cars are all more or less the same. I know you cant import a car for personal use in Thailand from research, but can you import cars as a business and sell them in Thailand ?
