  1. i don't remember liverpool's penalty appeal from the match. only remember juventus getting their penalty which i think was outside the area anyway and then platini scoring it. i didn't care. tragic, horrible day. RIP the 39.

    it wasnt a penalty

  2. offending who? muslims? in pubs? they don't even fuc_king drink for christ's sake.

Yeah, right. Stevie, I am in London this week and believe me, the pubs here are full of them. I was talking and drinking with quite a few of them (from various countries) last night. :) Also, try the business longes in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha etc, etc.

it was in the paper but it wont happen as everyone will go against it,and its so stupid as this is england so why cant we wear it.

  3. I suspect we have all had feelings like this in the past few months. But there are very, very great differences between this conflict and the one with the south. A few of these differences include: 1) the conflict with the south is inter-ethnic. Southern Muslims speak a completely different language from Thai and practice a different religion. While it is true that the Northeast speaks a different language from central Thai, central province and Issan Thai are pretty much intelligible to native speakers, even if they sound like different languages. The north-easterners cannot easily consider themselves a separate people from the central province Thais. they know very well that both groups are from the same ethnic group and share a common history, culture and language stretching back hundreds if not thousands of years. 2) there is far more social and regional integration between the central and northeast (and northern) provinces than there is between the central provinces and the south, which is economically, as well as socially, much more insular. Most northeast families have family members who work and live in Bangkok. That's not remotely true for far-southerners. 3) Westerners have not yet been the target of the conflict between the reds and the yellows in any way. The radical Muslim fringe in the south (that's not, by any stretch all of the Muslims there) hate the west. North-easterners, even those with radical, anti-monarchy ideas, have not expressed any anti-farang feelings that I'm aware of.

But, I know seeing what I've seen over the last months makes me uncomfortable. And I'm not surprised that others share those feelings. We will each have to decide for ourselves, of course, but for now I'm staying put. I love this place, all its frustrations notwithstanding. And the idea that the jerks who lead the red shirts would drive me out of here rankles me besides.

Thanks for the opportunity to share my thoughts and feelings

Great reply,i love sorry like the place too but i dont want risk my life for it so much.

  4. I do not understand how this twenty-plus storey building (Central World) burnt so disastrously.

What happened to all the fire-fighting devices that are built into any-and-all major structures these days - fire-compartmentalisation - fire doors - sprinkler systems - smoke vents - fire-proof seals on all duct-work - so on and so on?

Is Thailand one of the few countries, such as Burkino-Faso, where such precautions are ignored?

If Central World could burn like that, what are the chances of surviving in one of the major hotels in the same area?

I trust that any travel agency sending people to Thailand in the future is well covered for their own insurance, as well as insisting that the travellers take out their own insurance.

(Not that that would help them, but their surviving relatives back home may welcome some cash)

If the power is cut off would they still work :):D

they want to know his name in the sun paper today.

  5. I hope all foreigners that invole themselves in this "REBELLION" get sent to a Thai prison for life or face execution!

    WHY?

    Because they deserve it...

But life sentence will be to costly, and execution to cruel... Blacklisting and deportation will be enough.

are u saying your not allowed a point of view in thailand?

  6. ...

he was in a better position than anyone on this forum to know exactly what was going on, he chose his side and he put himself in the firing line and for that many people should thank him for highlighting many things.

Brave? well considering he knows full well that he could not rely on the law to save him, or indeed ethics, then yes he was a brave man, he must have knwon that at some point the bullet was coming but he was still out there every day.

Whatever some on here may think of him he had more balls than the majority of posters on here put together. R.I.P

    +1

I am sad. Seh Daeng was murdered.

he would make a great james bond enemyu heard it here first.

  7. Only murder if you think stepping on cockroaches is murder.

By the way, he has to die for it become murder, to quote a Monty Python film "He's not dead yet!"

you know him then do you?

  8. Political assassinations is not going to solve this.

only mean that everybody have to hide in government and army as well. to talk is better but suthep only want to kill because his head is next if have enquiry. why media cannot know this evil man suthep is mystery so must be control by PAD and CRES I think.

going to spread all over bangkok today. Rachprasong is very small area and too many military tied up and reds can run riot with rest of town and country. too many falangs hoping for suthep and newin to save abhisit. wow how big mistake can people make just because hate thaksin.

go mark before you have more blood on hands

It wasn't a "political" assassination. He was a violent criminal, maybe even taken out by his own team.

be quiet u silly man,u dont even know him.

  9. only thing i question is why they waited so long to shoot him and pray they dont make a martyr out of him. The military should have taking him in months ago.

The reds , (i hope) realize it is their best interest to deal and end this before it escalates further.

Straight out murder..... I hope the prime minister is held accountatble

My theory is that Thaksin is behind the hit, just to make the anarchy and chaos continue, wouldn't suprise me if I'm right...

Disagree woth you because Thaksin is already dead. I have photo proof of Thaksin funeral (includeing an image of his ghost) taken from ThaiVisa.

Maybe his ex-wife give the order as his last wish? Quite possible.

i got photo of thaksin on the moon if u want look at that one ,its true i saw it.

  10. Well, here is my truth. I made two ATM withdrawal transactions in the past week using a K Bank machine and was not charged anything. My wife tells me they have the best service she has encountered as well. So.... I am thinking of moving my assets to them if they keep up the free overseas withdrawal service. Free Enterprise..... use it!

    Spot on!

A mass move to K Bank by thousands of expats will set people thinking.

krung thai bank charge me 200 baht a year to use my atm card, hey thanks a lot,its a bloody joke.land of smiles my foot.

  11. with a name like that, likely to full of perverts and deviants... stay well clear :)

I know that a few of their patrons would be happy with that assessment, but most wouldn't, and it's more than a little unfair to make that comment if you have never been there.

The rooms are good quality, the staff are friendly and helpful, the drinks are not over-priced and the food is fine.

Plus, unlike quite a few other places, the girls who can be a source of entertainment are not constantly harassing you.

    sounds good.whats penthouse like?

The Penthouse is great if you want to feel seedy :D

    is it really that seedy?

How much would it set me back.

  13. At rates ranging from 750B to 950B it's hard to argue that the hotel is overpriced.

Granted, accommodations are not luxurious, but certainly adequate. It's a relatively

new hotel (less than 4 years old) located in the middle of the best action in Pattaya

(just off Walking Street). It features free Wifi, room safes, excellent and friendly

service. Beyond which, it's guest friendly. I liked the place.

    thank u.

so wheres the best place to stay in that areA?
