  1. Hi,

Is there tests you can buy somewhere to check if your house has issues with black mold, perhaps in areas you cant see/detect or are there any companies that can come and check this for you in Pattaya? I really want to check if there is an issue where i stay, as my son has a cough that comes pretty frequently with fever, misses having head ache and sinus problems. The doctors said he got astmah but i wanna make sure its a healty place im staying in and if not, get the hell out of here ASAP.

    Suggestions anyone?

  2. For family insurance, i would without a doubt go for ACS, a french insurance company which ive had now for the past 2 years for me and my 3 year old son. We are both covered up to $500,000 USD a year (option to increase to $1M USD) with a bunch of other options on top of this such as life, loss of income, liability etc)

Exactly how high your premium will be depends of course but for him and myself (im under 40) it ended up at i think 45,000 THB for 1 year, but that excludes out-patient coverage, which i took year 1, and realized it wasnt needed.

Used AAincurance broker here in Pattaya and am super pleased with the service! So much i let them take care of my car insurance as well (saved 4,000 bath by using them plus getting an even better coverage and assitance)

  3. It's not the first time I hear about these stickers.

But I don't understand what the Land Transport Federation is complaining about.

They want the police to be more strict in giving fines to drivers who don't respect the weight limit ?

Or they want the right to break the law without consequences ?

They are seeking a discount of course :) Why should "we" only have to pay 100 bath each time we are stopped and they are forced to cought up 3,500 per sticker...

  4. Can someone translate

In the interview he stated that he expected to be sentenced to either death or life in prison since he pleaded not guilty but was convicted. Even the documents from the embassy stated that if someone pleads not guilty and is convicted, a time period isnt placed on the verdict.

He also states taht if he knew what he knows now, before he went to the police, he wouldnt ever had gone in the first place. It would have been better if he had taken his own life.

Then he continues to talk about the corrupt legal system, saying if he had 3m THB he would have gone home the very next day after the interview but since he didnt, he had to take what he got. He went over and over claiming his inocense.

Thats in short what was said in it.

  5. How about using the money to improve education?

Educated people are less subservient and more difficult to control through fear. A lot of effort has gone into installing religious and cultural beliefs. Education would mean people would start asking questions.

I'm paying 2,000 baht a month for whats meant to be the fastest service available in Thailand 16mbps and its crap. Its up and down and normally takes 5 secs a page can take 30secs.

its quicker to use free internet in some coffee shops in Bangkok or Pattaya but I don't want to sit there all day. Its a complete rip off. 16mbps is within Thailand.

Like anyone's interested in local content!

The bottleneck is the bandwidth in and out of the country. It doesn't matter what speed we're promised now or in years to come.

    By comparison

Hong have got 1000mbps (1gbps) for $26 USD a month.

I guess u have 3BB internet? Im actually a bit supriced that you feel it sux. I also have 3BB, but their 10mbps for 1590 a month and it really delivers what it says. Downloading a file from overseas i get 700-800kb/s (from sweden). Pages and skype and other bandwith sensitive stuff, works without any issues.

  6. Well thailand IS behind, and thats ALOT as well.

Take Sweden, there i had 100mbit fiber in my appartment since 2002. These days you are able to get 60-100mbit through either your landline or though your tv-outlet. And on top of this you are now also able to get 4G in Stockholm (as one of the first countries in the world to offer this)

But on the other hand, the internet has improved a great deal just over the last year. The 3BB 10mbit connection actually delivers what they say it should, and ive had it now for close to 10 months!

But for sure, a 2mbit wi-fi would be a most welcome addition!
