I have multiple accounts with one branch of Bangkok Bank, all in my name. 2 fixed savings accounts (one for immigration 800k and one as guarantee for my credit card). I also have 2 "current" savings accounts also in my name. I also have a joint account in my and my wife's name. Never had any problem opening any of these.

I have a 5 year Thai driving license. On all my visits to the UK I have used it without any problems, including for car rental.
However, on a recent trip to France I had to get the International Driving Permit as the French do not accept a license in any other language than French (contrary to what some other posters have said above).

Dear all,
Can you buy gold, especially in Bangkok Chinatown, with credit card?
Thanks
Yes, you can. But the shop will add a 3% charge to cover the credit card fees.

It's definitely not working as normal this month. My 90 day report is due today (10th April). I was aware of this and submitted my online report on 5th April. Then just 2 days ago (8th. April) I received the notice to submit my report. Meanwhile my report is still "pending".

All the games are available to watch for free on Thai TV. The only problem is to work out which games are being shown on which channel. Most games are being shown on True4U - channel 24. On my TV one can choose the audio you want between the Thai commentary or the English commentary.

Sympathies to robwood12, this kind of bureaucratic c**p can really be annoying.
Related to said yellow book, I'm hoping to get one in Pakchong (+ the pink ID card), as I have been told they can help me renew my Thai driving license more easily, without the need to drive up to immigration to get proof of residence. Anyone know if that's right?
Thanks
Yes. The yellow book, plus the pink ID card, are useful for any time you need to show proof of address; and that includes when renewing your driving license.

It works fine as long as you have been in Thailand since your previous report, however, problems seem to occur when you try to submit your next report having returned from a trip outside Thailand and therefore not done the next report on the originally required date. My latest report is still showing "pending" 3 days after submitting it online 90 days after I returned from a trip abroad. Not sure whether I should continue waiting or have to go into the Immigration office in person.
Update to my post above: right at the end of the 3rd day of waiting I finally received the approval email for my 90 day report. So it does seem like the online reporting system is working well, although the response time may be a bit longer after returning from abroad as opposed to to a report done without having left the country.

The one thing I always wondered about in that kind of situation was... unless you're a farang who actually reads Thai.... how are you supposed to know exactly what the will you're submitting, written by someone else in a foreign language, is really saying....
For all you know, the lawyer in the will might be leaving your entire estate to the lawyer... And before anyone says anything on that point, stranger things have happened here in Thailand, where the legal profession isn't exactly renowned for their professionalism.
????
Very true. Good point. I don't read Thai, so I was relying on my trust in the lawyer to provide an accurate and true translation of what we had initially written in English. In my case though I was able to also ask my wife to check the Thai translation.

I had my will registered at my local district office. The lawyer who helped me draft the will strongly advised doing it. For him it was just a part of the normal process; making it more 'official'. The will had to be in Thai language. His colleague accompanied us to the office to act as an official witness, he couldn't be a witness himself as he was already one of the named administrators / executors of the will.

I flew back in to Thailand recently through Suvarnabhumi. No TM 6 required. When I queried this with the immigration officer he assured me that no details of a TM 6 would be required for my next renewal of my Retirement visa.

Yes. I was also wondering why I wasn't getting the Asean Now newsletter in my email inbox.

I too was expecting an email but never got one. When I signed up for the certificate, I do recall it said something about it being ready after a given date. A few days after that date, I just opened the Mor Prom app, hit the International Certificate button, and it was there. It remains in the never never land of my phone (although I also grabbed a couple of screen shots, printed those out, and now keep those copies with my travel paperwork).
Many thanks. I guess I'll just have to wait and see; and keep checking my Mor Prom app.

If you scroll down on the Mor Prom app - bottom left - you should see a button to apply for a digital International Certificate. As I understand it, they are free
until about (?) the 22nd of this June.
Here's a copy of what mine looks like (I've erased name and other personal information) and one can also scroll down and it'll list the exact vaccines (name, lot number, date, etc.) that you received. I'm only attaching the top part.
Thanks for the information. I have also applied for that " digital international certificate". My understanding is that it comes as a QR Code, but my question is: how do I receive that QR Code? Do I wait for an email? SMS? I could see no explanation in the Mor Prom app as to how I get the QR Code once my application has been approved.

It is not a problem to start the application for a Thailand Pass before leaving the country. Many others have done it.
When you start the registration process select returning to Thailand.
But when I looked into it, for the required insurance policy, AXA stated that their covid insurance could not be issued for anyone applying from within Thailand. They say the insurance has to be applied for from outside Thailand.

I have taken several domestic flights over the past month, all with Air Asia. On none of them was any paperwork required or checked. All that was needed was a temperature check and a mask. Having said that, of course the rules could change at any time.

Does anyone have any recent info. on requirements for flying Air Asia from Don Muang to Roi Et?

I had the same problem with Bangkok Bank blocking all international payments. Payments went through with no problem on my Bangkok Bank Mastercard debit card for all domestic payments within Thailand, but not international ones. So some payments to Netflix and some other companies were blocked. However, all I had to do was call Bangkok Bank Customer Support on 1333 and they sorted it for me. The lady explained that due to the recent bank fraud cases the banks have put a block on all international payment requests for a limited period (she told me the blocks might be lifted at the end of this month (November). In my case she was able to unblock the payment requested by Netflix and all was fine. She was also able to unblock some of my other payments due, but it seemed like you would have to contact them on a case by case basis to request these payments be allowed to go through.

If you have to be double vaxxed to fly Air Asia domestic, do they also require a negative covid test result issued 72 hours before check in? Or is proof of vaccinations enough?

My son, 12 years old, got his Pfizer jab yesterday (Friday) at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani. Only side effect so far is a sore arm.

Just completed my latest 90 report online. It worked fine for me, no problem. I think the main issue is that some district immigration offices are better than others at updating the applicant's file after they've done an in person report or obtained a new extension. My office in Nonthaburi seems able to handle this process well.

So I registered Wednesday, received an SMS at 11pm Saturday night for a 5pm appointment today Sunday at Bangsue.
Parking was very confusing and wasn't easy.
So you drive along the front of the station (station on your left), lots of people parking on both sides of the road.
Passing Gate 1 you'll drive along the front of the building passing Gates 2, 3 & 4 then as it appears that you are driving away from the station you'll see signs directing you to turn left towards and under the station. Parking there wasn't too bad.
We arrived 4pm, finished vaccination by 5.15pm and almost all the parking in the car park and on the road had gone by then.
Getting to and particularly away from Bangsue by expressway is easy.
I can confirm this information is correct. Went yesterday (Sunday). The underground car park is on the left after you drive past the main entrances (gates 1, 2, 3 and 4) of the station.

Is the number on the pink ID the same as the tax id number?
Not on mine, it isn't, no. I see some others saying here theirs are the same number, but mine is not. The numbers on my yellow book and pink ID card are the same, but my Tax ID number is different.
Creating a Last Will and Testament at an Amphur office

I haven't had a will actually drawn up at my amphur office, but I did take my will which had already been drawn up by my lawyer here in Thailand, to be registered with my local amphur office. Apparently having the will registered with the amphur makes things easier should there be any problems with probate, but I don't know about having them actually draw it up as well.
