  1. yamaha dealer in patong next to gas station.

Went to the Yamaha dealer in Patong to buy a new motorbike for MrsDave. They had about 12 bikes in stock, and only 2 of the model she wanted - both same color. For some strange reason, the salesgirl told us that they would not order one (different color) for us. It was pretty much "take it or leave it". We left it.

So then it was off to Phuket Town. The dealer there had 25 bikes or so on display, with about 12 of the model we wanted. They also had some of the newer 2016 models, and were discounting the 2015 models by 3,000 baht. (Patong had only the 2015 models, and no discount). We ended up buying a 2016 model on the spot, and the salesladies seemed to be happy to have our business, as opposed to Patong who seemed indifferent.

Did you actually expect a good price and good service from a biz in Patong blink.png

  2. Good idea to take the bus, especially since you will take a Tuk-Tuk/Taxi in Patong to go from the bus station to the hotel. Poof! There goes your benefit of the bus tariff.

Bus stops behind Jungceylon hopefully he booked a hotel around that area..

In general, a foreigner listed as the property owner with a yellow tabien baan does not need any proof of address from Immigration. However, a foreigner listed in a yellow tabien baan only as a resident at that address, not as the property owner, definitely does need the letter from Immigration. In your case, there might have been a mistake somewhere. It is possible that, in the past, our officers did not check carefully enough to see whether or not your name was listed as the property owner, or just as a resident at the address for which the tabien baan was issued. However, if you are listed in the yellow book as the “owner” and our staff still asked for proof of address from Immigration, please come and see me and I will take care of it.

  4. Also, if coming from Rawai beach 50 meters before the circle leftside, just past Dr. Thithi. I think they would be a lot more cost effective than Whalen.

You don't mean Lingua Plus, about 50 meters before Titi?

    Lingua is good!

School down the pier don't teach reading/writing so will be hard to pass any exams at immigration..
