  1. It depends on the type of vaccine you got. If your first shot was one of the mRNA type of vaccine (Moderna,Pfizer) you should continue if one of the two, while if you had Astra Zeneca you could have the second shot with Johnson or any other vaccine develeped with the same technology (deactivated virus).

  2. I think Thailand is reacting based on what happens worldwide. If the W.H.O. , together with the Western media , continue to spread terror with alarming news (second massive wave in October, etc.) and wrong guidelines, I don't see why Thailand should open its borders to a potential army of plague-spreaders. Put yourself in their shoes, they hear of deaths and infections increasing every day around EU,US,UK,etc., what should they do? They stick to the guidelines of the fallacious W.H.O. wich, IMHO, is kept on leash by the pharmaceutical multinationals. So be patient and prepare yourself for the vaccine, then you can fly...But that's another story...

  3. I bet the people interviewed were mostly ''bangkokians'' from high-medium class . Not a case that during the clashes between yellow and red shirts , the first ones (Bangkok's elite party) were those who occupied the airport. High and middle class do not need foreigners , they can finally enjoy their holidays in Phuket , Kho Samui or even Pattaya without seeing the farangs barbaric hordes. I guess no MBK vendors has been interviewed nor anyone from Isaan province...

I think Thailand is right in future to reject more people from coming in, and I hope they do. Many tourists and retirees spend next to nothing in the country, so I don't see why they should be allowed to stay. Covid might be a positive thing if it means Thailand gets tougher on these issues.

Is it really what you said ? Thinking of covid like a positive thing is simply shameful . The fact that you are enjoing the Kingdom now more than before (less pollution, less traffic, less buses around, etc.) doesn't mean you have to hope the virus will do more damage than it has already done. Be honest , this is the only reason why you're so pessimist.

  5. ...And very risky too. They said foreigners will be tested multiple times and finally released only if negatives... and who guarantees the reliability of the tests ? So many false positive in US and EU , immagine in Thailand. In case of positivity what could happen ? We would be taken to a 5 stars hospital and forced to spend 50 to 100 thousand baht extra, maybe more.

Well, to update, Qatar cancelled the flights until 2nd August.

Regarding the quarantine, I spoke to the Anantara, a hotel I know well. They confirmed that meals (full board) would be delivered to your room and you were not even allowed to go out on the balcony. After a second negative test on day 11, you could ask to have a 1 hour pool or exercise period from your room but until that time, you would be, essentially, locked in your room.

As this hotel has various blocks, it is highly possible to simply allocate a block to quarantine and then make it harder for you to get in or out.

Of course, the 130k for a suite for 2 people is lunacy if you cannot use the facilities which makes the hotel at large worth 130k.

I speculate that this stand off will continue until someone in the Thai government does a deal for reciprocal non quarantine such as the UK has done. Only then will the planes fly.

And on this $100k requirement for insurance, that needs to be removed as well because the fees being charged will stop 99% of people travelling.

Wow..It sounds very scaring , like prison style. Absolutely not the best way to encourage tourists to come.

  7. Until a few weeks ago, BTV broadcast , among its channels , Supersport channel , (south african network which covers almost the major sporting events including the next World Championship) .... Now, because a normal increase in subscription asked from Supersport (due to the next World Championship), Banglamung cable TV has decided not to renew the contract with Supersport ,leaving "without World Cup" all the residents in North Pattaya .

Now where did you get that one from?

The whole South African network is about to disappear, actually most of it is gone already! Apparently only very few channels remain active, and nobody knows for how much longer.

The channels you mention, have gone from ALL 3 Pattaya cable operators (Sohpon, Banglamung aand TMN)...

As of now, it seems SS3 and SS5 are still active, the rest is gone...

So you are telling that Supersport is about to disappear from Sophon as well....And when ? Before or after world cup ? As you said Sophon cable still has 2 Supersport channels wich is enough to watch the entire world cup schedule....I guess.

I hope Sophon won't delete SS3 and SS5 for the World Cup , in this case I can rent an apart. in South Pattaya/Jomtien area.

    :)

  8. Anyone living in Pattaya knows that the most important cable television broadcasters in town are Sophon and BTV (Banglamung Cable TV.)

These cables have made an agreement about the Division of coverage areas.

Jomtien, South Pattaya up to Pattaya Klang is covered by Sophon cable broadcaster (historical cable which includes many channels including Supersport) while everything else in Pattaya (north Pattaya, Naklua, Pattaya Nua, etc.) is covered by Banglamung cable TV (BTV).

This is a real betrayal to all the residents living in the area of Pattaya covered by that fuc_kin BTV !!! :)

Sophon Cable instead , has not "terminated" the contract with Supersport, which will be regularly "aired" during the World Cup !!!

So, Boycott BTV...The Keenyao Cable !!!!

  9. Thais ask me this question all the time and i am unable to give any satisfactory answer.

I say, "why don't thais like darker shades of skin ?" they say it looks dirty, and are amazed at why farangs are attracted to dark skinned females. truly amazed. and they seem to think or expect me to have the answers.

does anyone have an explanation for this (perhaps false) perception ? BTW this sterotype that farangs love dark skin is huge, up there with the walking ATM stereotype.

I think because most of girls with dark skin come from North East wich is the best place of Thailand.

Who needs those whites-poshy-snobby-wannabe-western girls from Bangkok ?

  10. Question that always bothers me is: If that Thai police were what many of you are insinuation "Lying" why on earth would they even let us/anyone know this guy had been killed in this way. If you were a witness to this and these very bad guys that you make them out to be told you "shut it or else" would you go running to the newspapers or whisper a word? Very easy for them to just list this death as a dissapearence and not have to answer any questions to anyone,,,after all they are according to many of you all corrupt liars :) ....I think some of you should get a grip on reality and face facts that they are looking at all possibilities like all investigators do throughout the world..only in most other countries they don't make public what they are doing. Right or wrong this is Thailand not the US of A or Bonnie Scotland.

Don't need to be a Sherlock Holmes to understand that this kind of execution is a message to others....A bloody message made by very powerful people who can buy police , judges and anything else.
