  1. In an Industry utilizing a large number of consultants in rolls offshore and onshore such as Drilling Supervisors, Geologists, Mud Engineers, HSE officers etc... PPE is not always provided by the Client, it's not at all unusual for the consultant provide their own PPE.

None of the positions you have mentioned are "consultants", they maybe freelancers or contractors...but not "consultants"....let me guess Richard you are involved in the HR business ??.....This is like calling plumbers...Sanitary Engineers....crock of PC sh*t

Definition of a consultant....someone you pay a lot of money to tell you the time on your own watch.. :)

FYI...Once offshore where ever they are working, the facility concerned is obligated to provide the required Basic PPE free of charge to the worker....and I am not guessing this, I know this as fact, as I work offshore

Actually all of the positions he noted have consultants within the industry and drilling contractors are not required to provide 3rd party or client contractors (including "consultants') with PPE

    26 years offshore here

  2. There has been a lot of research to testimony of children. Children are reliable witnesses and can distinguish between real and fantasy. There is however 1 thing that needs to be taken into consideration. Children can easily be influenced by what they think the person questioning him wants to hear. The way children are interviewed is extremely important. One must take care as to not to lead a child, once that happens the testimony becomes unreliable.

Example are there more than enough of incest cases being found out not true, all because the therapist started to ask questions about repressed memories and leading the client into believing something that ever happened.

That's right. Kids up to seven years learn seven times faster than an adult, so does the memory. But as you mentioned, they can be influenced and present it as given, since they are in a taking in stage of their life, or forming a character.

Yep and many paedophiles have worked in asia as teachers

Neither is a fact in this case until fully investigated

Why do you try and discredit the child yet insinuate the arrested person is framed

Why dont you just say you know sweet fa about the facts and wait and see the outcome

AN anonymous poster says he knows the inside story and the guy has been set up ( and you jump straight on the bandwagon)

Another anonymous poster syas that the guy is on the paedo register in Australia (and you try and flame him)

You wouldnt happen to be a teacher would you???

  3. Why dont the people in this thread who state firstly that the man is innocent until proven guilty let justice take its course and wait and see

instead of making insinuations about frame ups, lack of credibility of the child as a witness, the mother 'may' have put the child up to it, there is a lawsuit but cant put details on here, etc, etc

Hypocritical at best, I wont say what at worst is

Let it play out and hopefully justice will prevail

  4. I expect this whole forum will be people damning this man before anything has been proven, how can they take the word of a 4 year old and say the man is guilty. The boy could have easily been coached by the mother who could stand to gain financially by this perhaps someone found out he was gay and figured he would make a good target?

We don't know until he is proven guilty, and that will be very hard to prove.

After this forum has become out of control and filled up with bigoted slander, abuse and hearsay it will be taken down and none will know the truth as this forum never follows up.

You accuse others of being damming yet you throw up ridiculous hypothetical statements the other way????

  5. Dealing and distributing computers is my job.

Avoid Big C, Lotus etc.. Good places for general shopping, but their computer selection is expensive and very poor.

Never went to Pattaya but i go to Panthip Plaza every month or so, it's a great place if you want a top quality computer.

    Check Floor 3+

    Basic must haves:

    - Radeon or Nvidia graphic card. Not the latest but last year's.

    - 3 ghz processor

    - Windows 7 64bits

    - 4+ Giga RAM

    - For the monitor, get a new HD TV

The best is to have a shop building it for you, takes about 1 hour.

For a Laptop, same as above but of course it'd be already built.

I agree with you on the getting a shop to build it for you normally, but I have heard some horror stories on shop built computers with 'dodgy' parts from Pantip in the past

Do you recommend any particular shop with a good track record of selling on the inside what they advertise on the outside?

  6. I wont say anything derogatory but when this happened they were travelling very fast and were under the influence

It is very sad and a tragic lesson

We are accountable for our own actions in many cases

Blaming this particular incident on lax thai safety standards is BS, except that bikes are rented to people without licenses or sufficient skill but once again adults should be accountable for their own actions

People dont have to hire motorcycles if they dont have a license, they dont have to ride faster than their capabilities and they dont have to DUI

  7. People are not clueless sns as you say, I am from the us and rode bikes all my life there. I knew and associated with members from many of the clubs you mention SO DONT TELL ME WHAT TO THINK OR CALL ME CLUELESS PAL !!! The only people I ever met in these clubs that were not up to no good were the wannabe hangons who always went around spouting what an upstanding group of citizens these folks were.

Ok PAL!!!!! I aint no hangaround and you just carry on talking clueless crap if you like

A lot of people have been riding bikes all of their lives PAL!!!

and they dont waste time mouthing off and being a pretender on the web

Cheers and have a nice day clueless

See ya on the road :-O

  8. Keep to your own ah.. if everyone had that mindset the world wouldnt be a very pleasant place to live in!

And for these MC gangs, i can agree that the founders idea might have been different of that they represent today..

I agree most people only knows about this through news etc, but selling drugs, doing human trafficking, arms dealing and murder is not just some news scoop.. its illegal and morally wrong and people who do that kind of business should be locked up. But i guess soon that will be taken care, the terrorist watchlist is growing every day... :)

    my 2 cents.

    /peace

and what has that got to do with any clubs mentioned in this thread? (In Thailand)

maybe there are a few asian, and western governments you need to have a look at before pointing an uneducated finger at motorcycle clubs. Who runs the white slave trade, who runs the drug trade, who runs the arms trade???

Anyway I'm not here to waste time preaching to the clueless and I do not disagree that those who do the crimes you mention above should be locked up, but the minority within the outlaw clubs (in the west) that are involved in the above are literally insignificant in the "businesses' you describe when you look at the big picture

Maybe if some that hide in cyberspace actually spent the time to have a beer and get to know a few hardcore bikers, they would realise how hilarious and misguided some of these types of threads are

Most of the bile (not in your case) comes from individuals who feel intimidated by the clubs and so spit venom from afar

    Cheers

  9. Big bikes are more expensive in Malaysia than Thailand. If you want to save money my suggestion is to buy new bike in Singapore and you can ride in malaysia. just have to ride down once a year for inspection and paperwork

Its not financially reasonable to import bike from Thailand to Malaysia. You are taking an overpriced bike into a country which has even higher import tariffs than the one you are coming from

  10. I assume they were bringing it in as they were not privy to the ingredients and expertise that is available on Thailands borders

makes you wonder how much is actually passing through the airport every day

Seems to me the number of arabs and africans in bangkok has exploded in the last handful of years............................

    and the conclusions is........?

all arabs and africans are involved in drugs in bangkok? what a shameful generalisation?

there are many many more farangs who are involved in these activities too

I dont know. I didnt make any conclusions, you did

I dont see where I made any statement that mirrors yours above.............

  11. I assume they were bringing it in as they were not privy to the ingredients and expertise that is available on Thailands borders

Call an Iranian an Arab and watch him react.

Iranians are Persian stock, they look down on Arabs as desert nomads and livestock farmers, while they are the produce of Noble Empires and Kings.

Sailed with a few who would always let you know they had mapped the heavens while Europe was full of Visgoth, Huns, Franks and Celts. Quite different from now I would say or not?

    Yes you are quite correct

There are a lot more Persians in Bangkok in the last couple of years too :)

  12. A thai license isnt recognised for transfer in Australia. If you have a 5 year Thai license and get an international driving permit in Thailand you can use that in Australia for 3 months. After 3 months you have to sit an Australian license as a learner

The only recognised license in asia for transfer to an australian license is the Singapore license. All other asian licenses you need to do full driving tests (including probationary periods) to transfer to australian license

    Accepted countries

Austria BelgiumCanada Croatia Denmark Finland France Germany Greece Guernsey Ireland Isle of Man Italy Japan Jersey Luxembourg Malta Netherlands New Zealand * Norway Portugal Singapore Spain Sweden Switzerland United Kingdom United States
