Having resided in Phuket for the last 7 years, married a lady from Chiang Mai 6 years ago,, and on my fourth work permit including one for my own business, now defunct.

I returned from Penang by air to Phuket International Airport and was met by a Gestapo team of immigration officers, I was bearing a Non Immigrant B visa in order to implement a work permit for which all the paperwork had been submitted in Penang.

I was told that only four tourist visas are allowed now, I had a succession of ten, but, only 3 in and out on the same day, the others were leaving by sea and remaining outside Thailand for a week or sometimes much more.

I find this new "Crackdown" petulant and spiteful. Not welcoming at all. I would welcome clarification for airline captains, cargo and passenger ship captains and yacht captains. Any answers please.

I recently, unwittingly downloaded a Spesoft toolbar whilst trying to download image converter software. I have been through all the normal procedures, uninstall, remove cookies and empty cache from before the download til present, tools/search engines/ remove search engine, reinstall Chrome which is the browser it is now living in.I attach a png image of my google chrome browser inhabited by Spesoft.

Does anyone have the solution to this?

I live in Nai Yang (next to the airport). I am currently using CAT cdma which is sometimes good and sometimes not good.Can anyone tell me if this will improve in the near future or which service currently offers the best connection.

Has anyone considered my suggestion to group responses from each Thai embassy to applications, thus we might know where we are most likely to succeed?

To clarify the idea:

                         If we list each embassy by location.

Each person reports the response from a given embassy.

We compile a realtime likelyhood of positive results- given each individuals situation.

We will know which embassy is the best choice.

This is needed now because of the arbitrary nature some embassies appear to show.

Yeah, I failed to consider that some people travel overland to Penang.

Someone mentioned yesterday (not on the forum) that AirAsia has cancelled all morning flights to Penang. Can anyone confirm this? Is it true?

I am aware, only, of Firefly between Phuket and Penang. 

I bussed out and flew back.I noticed that the fare from Penang to Phuket was 2120 Baht whereas Phuket to Penang would have been 2800 Baht. I paid cash, booking online with a credit card may prove a better option.

The flight lasted one hour and fifteen minutes, was very comfortable and well worth 1200 Baht extra to save 19 hours of bus and waiting, for those who care about that. I do, Im getting old!

I am now in Penang and wish to return on a two month tourist visa but the visa agents are unsure if I will be granted a visa....? Can anyone clarify?

The real answer is "yes" if you are not repeating tourist visas.

I am glad to report that having had one year of bvisas with work permits my application for a tourist visa was granted in Penang.

Would it not be a good idea to group all Penang applications and results together?

Perhaps group other embassies together too?
