It looks as if China Airlines is dropping Chiang Mai from its planes as of March 26.

Correction.. CA is down to two flights a week from CNX to TPE until songkran when they go to just one flight a week. Not good.

Does anyone know if I can get a double entry visa in Phnom Penh?

Thru an agent no problem in PP. Hard I understand to apply yourself and get a double there. about 3000 baht. Otherwise can get a double in VTE if you don't have a many previous tourist visa's.

Next time post in the Visa section or better yet search the Visa forum where there is plenty of discussion of availability etc.

Yes sadly. I could show you sources of anywhere from 45 to 65 dead and climbing. Thailand one or two dead and up to 5 injured.

How many visas are in your passport?

In my current passport were 1 ED year visa and 2 Tourist visa before the single one issued last month.

That is why you were refused double entries. If you have none or one you should be OK.

The new Thai DL (CC) are in English and Thai and recognized so you do not need a IDP.

Just keep the two passports together, no problem. Have a great trip.

If you are willing to make the drive, the best pizza I have had in the CM area is on Doi Saket at a place called "Locanda Doi Saket." Run by an Italian man and his Thai wife, really great pizza as well as other Italian food. All pizzas are less than 200B I believe. Also makes a great tiramisu! To get there, drive into Doi Saket from the 118 and turn right at the street light, its just a few hundred meters down on the right.

I had a pizza from him about two years back. Typical Italian. Stunk. Warm wet ketchup on warm dough.

Double entry tourist visas that would be 2X60+30 for 6 months are FREE until March 31 in both Vientiane Lao and Phnom Penh Cambodia. If you have NOT had a tourist in your passport you should have no problem . I have friends that have gone direct to embassy in PP NO agent and got their visas.

Good idea. I would recommend all foreigners keep their passport and wallet on them for the next few days, just in case (especially high-rise dwellers). It could save you a whole lot of anguish if the unthinkable happens and you manage to escape.

Speaking with some thais this morning in San Sai. They were saying they are terrified about a Tsumani hitting Chiangmai. Had to assure them that they have more chance of winning the lottery than a Tsumani hitting. They seem to think quakes and tsumani go hand in hand. I don't know who fills thier heads with all this rubbish.

They must either really like me or be setting me up.

No such conversations in my bar, and if they came I would probably just give them the extra money anyway, it's not worth the hassle for the peanuts they ask for now.

They have been going around warning that a bigwig BIB is in town so shutting early Thursday - Friday would be prudent.
