  1. She checked her vaccination record. She received MMR( Mumps Measles Rubella) & Td (Tetanus diphtheria) As to why those particular vaccinations were indicated, I would be guessing. So best left alone.

My understanding is that Christians Scientists don't believe in vaccinations or traditional medical treatment. Based on their Religious beliefs. Since Thailand is a Buddhist Country it might be a hard sell.

Where I think I remember reading it was in preparation for her interview. There was something stating that you could refuse vaccinations. However, the innuendo was it is best not to. I did not explore that avenue. Sorry I can't be more specific. Also my wife had no records of previous inoculations . Although she has had them.

    Good luck.

    Edited for good measure.

  2. If marriage visa now will take forever.

K1 fast. Just did it and she was here very quickly.

How quick? We just got our IR-1in less than 2 months. That is a 10 year green card when you arrive in the US. No AOS ( adjustment of Status) no Advanced parole no I94 cards no 2 year green card. In other words we are done with the USCIS and Dept. of State. Also only A 3 year wait for citizenship rather than a 5 year wait.

PM me if you want information.

  3. I'm not sure white asbestos is so deadly. When I was a kid we used to have it as fencing, a shed made of it, on the ironing boards and elsewhere. I remember breaking up sheets of it to see the bits fly about, that was about 55 years ago.

Maybe it is not so deadly. After all, asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral. I had extensive exposure in the building trades to asbestos. Starting in 1970.It was taken out of most of the products I was using by 1975. I have no lung problems. But I attribute that to my cessation of smoking unfiltered cigarettes 28 years ago. Not to trivialize the true dangers that are inherent in those that mined asbestos, or worked in factory production. A phenomenal amount of money has been generated in asbestos abatement in many countries.

Those corrugated roof will not be any problem. The sky is not falling.

  4. <snip>

Go to Harats, the Russian owned Irish bar in Jomtien. Not one thai working there. The barmen are Russian. How do they get away with it? I don't know but they do.

Perhaps the Thai staff are on permanent holiday?

You may actually be on to something. The thai paid Staff is simply paid told not to show up. 300 baht per day for not going to work. They are on books,Quotas are met. Taxes and social security paid. If this establishment can afford to do that, it might be a good business formula for others to consider.

I don't see why the tour companies could not do something similar, unless their profits margins are too thin.
