  1. In case, she's really the mother, she will get you a written permission in exchange for the 500k. In there, she agrees, that you are the legal bf of her daughter.

That was even (the letter) enough, in the late 90's, to let the police step aside, if a westener got checked with 14/15/16 years old girl.

Since 2008, the legal age, for having intercourse with a kid is 15. So I think, the letter of permission of the parents will work even for a 12 years old.

If there is no 'force', the police will step aside.

If they wanna get extra money, the mum will take the 500k, and in the evening the police will knock on your door, to get their 500k.

And because the girl isn't a virgin, anymore, you couldn't even proof, that you didn't do something.!

Also, because you aren't Chinese Sex mafia, the daughter could even leave you, the next day. Or would you, like the guy's from the big massage parlors, go after the parents, in case the daughter isn't fulfilling the contract?

    Probably not, so....!

no offence but how do you come to know so much about it.

I'm long enough in Thailand have open eyes and ears.

Change you subjects in chatting with young(est) females, and you will get much more information, as usual.

    But do you want that?

  2. I have nothing but excellent experience with AA. But I do triple check my online booking ( click or just not click check boxes) , allow enough time for connecting flights etc.

But you can always opt for Thai Airways first class, see if they are anything better.

Not true! Thai Airways isn't offering first to all destinations. Unluckily. whistling.gif

  3. The Air Asia booking website, is set up for booking mistakes ! One would think that it would include a warning that there is not enough time to connect. But NO, this is something that is completely ignored. Why ? i am sure that it creates extra revenue .

Ever tried to book from somewhere in Thailand to Singapore via KL?

You have to book 2 flights, it's your own risk, if you want the next one, leaving in 75 minutes, after your planed arrival!

You need to go through immigration, and (sometimes) to pick up your luggage.

Air Asia, in special flights to KL are mostly always late.

You have to check in again, clear immigration again, and that is the window, you have to take care of.

Actually, in case you try to book this connection at a Air Asia Ticket counter, they will tell you, probably, that you need minimum 3h time in KL. Or they can't sell the ticket.

Friends of mine had this trouble, re-booking their tickets from Phuket to Bali to Phuket via KL to Bali.

The (Bangkok) Call center didn't accept a 2.30transit time, because it isn't a transit time. Also they didn't offer 'fly-throu'.

So they had over 3h waiting time in KL LCCT. But they got their flights, all the luggage came with, and no problems with immigration or check inn

  5. I sincerely hope I will never be proved right but I have thought for sometime that Phuket, being so close to the south,

will at some stage be a target for terrorists, It would not require much of an imagination to smuggle explosives across

the water or around the checkpoints on the island. Again I hope I will forever be wrong.

Won't happen, I think. To much money for the locals to flush away.

Bali 's mostly Hindi, the terrorism act was muslim made.

In Phuket, the communinty of muslim people, participating from the western cashflow, is much bigger.

Also the 'south' has really nothing to do, with Thailand. It's still about the Sultanate Patani, and the provinces ot this Sultanate in nothern Malaysia and in southern Thailand.

I do not think, that any of the local 'leaders' will try other local 'authorities', by bringing the conflict into the way of there businesses. It's only the police, who isn't knowing, whom they looking for! Eh, officially

  6. Which Air Asia you have your beef with?

The 'original', the Malaysian, flightnumbers with AK

    or

    Thai Air Asia (FD)

    Indonesian Air Asia (QZ)

    Philippines Air Asia (PQ)

    Japan Air Asia (JW)

Do you call a KL Number for the callcenter? Or the number in Bangkok?

I try to fly only 'real' Air Asia flights, but not the Thai/Indonesian/Philippines Air Asia flights.

  7. Noob7, we have been "picking up the work" for several years now. I am far from being retired and have went through a downsizing in the past few years. Same work load, but less employees. So everybody has to work harder.

"picking up the work" for several years now.

That is a process. Called progress.

Even in Thailand, it should happen, every now and then.

But to fire 10 or more % of the workers, to push the others, to do all the work, but not to have the time for the chitchat and hanging around in groups will result in resigning!

    "10,989 resigned,"

Actually a good strategy, to get rid of the people, they don't need, and to hire Burmese or Lao, or .... people.

Here you already see, what can happen, in case ASEAN really opens the door.

But the good thing: most females are be able, to adopt the working skills needed. And the male can become taxidriver and start working on the image of Thailand!

  8. Just wondering, who is doing the work of all this people, now.

    Illegals?

    No one?

I imagine you must have lived in Thailand for many years.

What happens is that people are eliminated but the rest of us have to pickup their work. So we are doing more work than ever. Lots of companies have had increased profits by using less workers. However people are getting burned out faster. It makes for a more hostile work environment.

That (pick up the work) will not 'work', i guess. Not over long time..

That is the reason, that companies hire many more people, than they usually need.

That's why I didn't ask, if people have to work more, now.

They would need illegals, methinks. Much easier to control, much more reliable.

And yes, I have long time experience, not only in Thailand

  9. The big picture, as I see it, is this as the beginning of a domino effect situation. The people who have lost, or will lose their jobs, contribute to the economy, or at least, used to contribute. The purchases and payments they can no longer make, will effect even more people. But this is just one facet. It's going to get worse! Count on it!

I doubt many of these people on the minimum wage, have much residual money to spend on luxuries. I would be guessing (logically) that most if not all, goes towards food and shelter and that's about it.

I disagree with people who constantly say a Thai can live on 200-250 baht per day. It's borderline survival. Not living.

I also agree that multinationals or companies that are exporting say they can't afford the wage increase is bullshit. We hear the same everywhere, in every country.

If you are serving the local community, it is different, but no different elsewhere, where running your own business with employees is hard, when you have high salaries you have to pay, high overheads etc.

I think people just got used to the cheap cheap labour and don't want to have a greater expense than they are used to. For a Thai on minimum way life is hard. Nothing is that cheap here, if you look at it from the viewpoint of someone earning 300 baht a day.

................but if neighbouring countries with equally skilled (perhaps better and hard working employee's) having pay scales well below that of Thailand's then where are new investors going to set up shop???? or worse still, make it worthwhile for them to leave Thailand and build their plants elsewhere - result in both cases? less jobs in Thailand and increased employment in those benefitting countries.

U think a foreign mnc investment decision is made on 5 or 10 usd per DAY?

    Times 5/10/20 thousand workers?

    I think, it is!

  10. He said the Social Security Fund had paid about Bt1.13 billion to the unemployed workers.

Among the workers affected, 3,735 were laid off, 10,989 resigned, 484 were not entitled to social security fund assistance and 34,408 had yet to be formally notified of their employment termination by their employers.

People who resigned are are not entitles to benefits, neither are those who are not informed yetof their unemployment. That means the paid 1.3 Billion to 3,735 people over a month?

Unemployment benefits seems to pay well in Thailand.

    Administration costs? whistling.gif

  11. The minimum wage has been raised yearly by a tripartite committee, where are you getting all your (wrong) information?

Oh, that would be news to me, too.

You have a link to the minimum salaries list over the last 10 years?

From my archive, collected with blood, sweat and tears and only to please TV members rolleyes.gif

    2013-01-01 all provinces 300 Baht/day

Disclaimer: correct as far as I know and have verified, guarantee expired just after writing this down wai.gif

Ah, now I see my mistake.

From 2006 to 2011 it was about 200baht/day. (here on Phuket)

2011 it was the 'big' rise to 220 Baht

    1. April 2012 the next step to 300.

My fault, of course.Inflation compensation, but no rises.

Thanks for your heartblood and the tears.wai2.gif

And, like I said, they getting now not one baht more. Only the 'real' salary' is a bit higher, the service charge has to fill that up.

  12. For me, the main reason is, that the majority of workers in Thailand did not get more, than the minimum salary. And than a increase of 30% is, eh, stupid! If it would cover only a minority, it would'nt have affected everyone. This minority would be bigger now, because many people, paid over an old minimum pay, would be in the minimum pay scheme, this days, But still that would get corrected step by step.

On Phuket's west coast, most hotels did change nothing in numbers. They only calculated the salary higher, but the service charge and the tips is not that much, anymore. About 3k less/month

And this year, they paid another 3k more for the degree holder.

But I think, they try to rise the prices, too, aren't they?

What I would like to know, and can't find it:

How many people with a university degree lost their job?

The minimum salary for them is even higher, as 300 baht.

    For the very same job.

    Any numbers available about that?

  13. You really think Thais will give up the cars that they already have, which they consider status symbols and ride on buses? Not a chance.

Lots of Thais starting to use the Status at day offs/weekend, to show off in central or elsewhere. Rest of the week, car parked in front of the entrance door and get washed in the evening.

For other days, still the motorcy will do. Also they can't find a parking space, around there working area. And the gasoline to go to work, and come back, is 3-4 times more, than with the motorcycle. What means, Phuket town - Patong will cost them half of the salary, they get. Without service charge and tips, it wouldn't even be enough, to pay the monthly installment.

  14. @ noob7

"I think, only Brasil, Peru and South Korea are 'good' for 90 days!"

I was simply posting that Malaysia also give 90 days to tourist from many western countries.

Anyway, where are most of these Russians doing there visa runs to. I've never noticed any when I have been in nearby Thai Embassies.

But still only Brasil, Peru and South Korea has a 'deal' with Thailand, that their citizen will get 90 day at the border/immigration of Thailand stamped into their passports.

Malaysian, getting also only 30 IN THAILAND, not 90! But they get it at the Malay/Thai landborder, too.

Still Malaysia has nothing to do with Russians in Thailand, methinks

  15. Due to several business reasons, we have downsize the frequency from every hour to every three hours. Thank you for being understand.

    Regards,

    AirportBusCrew

    Why ?

This way, the cake for the rising amount of legal taxi's is bigger.

Brings a lot more money in, methinks
