I live in Bangkok, so my only experience, except for back in the days when Immigration was at Suan Phlu, is Chaeng Wattana.
Just remembered: You'll need to bring your blue tabien baan in addition to your passport, old TM16/17 and police book to get your new TM17.
Hi, one more question, is the immigration keep the old PR book or give it back to you? Thank you

Not long ago I got a new TM17 to replace the one that was full.
The immigration officers at Chaeng Wattana completed the form for me without me having to ask them to help.
The photos needed for a TM17 need to be on proper photographic paper instead of the less durable paper that some photo places provide for visa applications.
Hello, Thanks for the info. For this do I have to go to Chaeng Wattana or is it possible to do at the local immigration office?

Hello,
Can anyone advise me of below situation.
I was granted PR in Thailand a few years ago based on marriage and supporting Thai child. Previously working in Thailand for over 10 years. Now need to go back to look after some family business in my home country. Is it possible to keep my Thai PR without working anymore in Thailand? I wanted to keep holding my Thai PR because I wanted to come to see my Thai family back and forth and also come back to live in Thailand again in near future.
A waiting your advises.
Sorry, for i was not very good in English typing.
Thank you

Hello, I'm on 180 days extension of stay while waiting the result of resident permit for the past four years. My application was submitted based on married/support to thai national. The question now was, What will happen to my extension of stay if I cancel my work permit during this period? Do I need to report to immigration if I canceled my work permit. Sorry, for my poor language. Please advise or any info you may have. Thank you.

No problem, just stock up at home. Or visit friend's home. Mai pen rai ...
Easy for expats but a real pain for tourists.
Why don't they just ban the sale of alcohol to Thai people in certain tourist zones at times like this. The girlie bars would do well selling a shot of Sprite or Coke for 150 baht as they can't sell alcoholic lady drinks!
I agreed with you. Should ban only for thai peoples. Tourists has nothing to do with voting.

so what will they do with the tens of thousands of burmese, lao, and khmers working for a pittance in thailand ?
or do the new regulations only apply to farangs ?
I think they had different kind of work permit because their WP applications doesn't need to have "Non B or Non O" visa.

Here is the Easy answer I will go to the Labor Dept tomorrow and ask them. 2 min from place. then we can all know for sure.
Thank you. Keep posted the outcome, pls.

So, now who will feed my thai wife and daughter because of I don't have a degree and if not allow to have work permit anymore?

He should stay away from the beginning. This is not his country and shouldn't be involved. What a pitty. This is all his own fault.

Holding the city hostage for 2 months is just idiotic.
You're right.
But well, what should they do to make things change?
Having elections does not seem to work.
Or maybe things should not change in Thailand.
And I'm all for the status quo, good for business.
No, I think all the reds should move to Burma..and let the govt there deal with them in a "peaceful" manner because this is what they want.
In Burma, they will last for 2 days instead of 2 months.

yestarday at 21:10 "Prachatai reporter from Kok Wua intersection reported that two foreign tourists were injured by soldiers. One was shot at the chest after having shouted 'fuc_k You!' to the soldiers. They have been sent to hospital." http://www.prachatai.org/english/node/1726
I am take it with a grain of salt. However, I though prachtai was banned by the government. How did you access the webpage? Through proxies?
Can be access normal.

Normally they have to transfer the entry stamp and arrival card to your new passport.

Hmmm I live not far from there, they all belong to the Mafia. There are no motor bike taxis around there because they won't let them in and the fares are ridiculess I had a friend who had his shop window smashed because he told someone where the local bus was and he was over heard by one if them. It really needs to be claened up but we all know why it hasn't I guess.....
I'm agreed with you.

You are currently on overstay since Dec 5 (last day of work). The fine is 500 baht per day. You also seem to have been working illegally since December 7 from your post. Did you apply for a work permit?
Believe you may have just moved on the 7th and did not actually start work yet? You will need to obtain a new non immigrant B visa prior to the work permit being issued. If your exit is not questioned you need to be sure to enter using your new visa rather than that invalid re-entry permit.
What is a multiple Non B visa? In my case, my employer wants to cancel my employment from his present company and re employ me in his different company. I if cancel my present job and wp, then what will happen my 1 yr Non B visa which I'm holding right now?
Thanks
-
It is your employers resonsiblity to notify the labour department when your job ends.
Yes you can come back and enter the country without any problem.
My case is different with the other. My employer wants to cancel my employment from his current company and wants to employ me at his another company in different province. If I cancel my present job for transfer to his other company then what will happen to my Non B visa which I'm holding right now.
BTW, the other company also under his name as I'm working right now. Your advise may useful for me. Thanks

Just curious about your visa status after submitting your application.... do you still have to do your annual visa extensions just like every other year or is there a special "Under Consideration for PR" visa status given???
They'll give you "Under Consideration for PR" visa status for 3 months...then three 3 months...then three 3 months...then three 3 months...then three 3 months...then three 3 months....
That is - until you get approved (Permanent Res Book), very annoying....
How about changing the work to the other company "Under consideration" period. And the present employer is owned another company under his name and want me to move. If I move, then what will happen to my submitted application? Dose anyone met this kind of knowledge and case. Your reply and advise will very useful for me. Thanks

No way she can make a burmese passport from overseas or through agencies. She will have to going back to Yangon(former capital) and apply by her self or there is some available agencies in Yangon though, but she will need to find out herself.Process will take 2-4 weeks by the express service.
Hi,We have a Burmese Nepali maid working for us for more than 3 years. She has legal working ID, issued by thai labour system but does not have Burmese passport. We are moving out of the country by January and would very much try to take her with us. She is very close to our family, specially with kids and she is more than willing to go with us. I was wondering, if its possible to get a New Burmese passport without going to Burma. Are there any agencies, that can help ?? Any advise or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks.
