  1. I visited the paddock yesterday. I walked past it a year ago and didn't think to pop in? I got half of the things I needed and was a little disappointed in their prices. The 350 baht motocross jerseys that are on sale are made in Thailand copies. If you had the time, you could find a shop in Pratunam selling them for 100 baht a peice. Given the time I had, I bought two of them to give as gifts and bought a real one for myself for 1,350 baht.

In the next couple of weeks, I'm off to dirtshop.com. Does anybody have any suggestions? I need an exhaust, hand guards and some other performance accessories.

  2. I do my ford ranger for less than a thousand baht. 7 liters of oil and a filter. If you have more than 40k on the clock you might want to do a fuel filter as well. The fuel filter for mine is about three hundred baht. Don't forget to clean your air filter and check all your fluid levels.

  3. Something doesn't sound right.

Someone wants to sell an unfinished resort for 90 million or finish it and sell it for 30 million more. The real estate agent says that he can finish it for 15 million and advises to buy it at 90 and pay the real estate agent to finish it.

Does this sound strange to anybody else?

  4. i asked a simple question. what does the following mean?

outside20> There is only 1 resort for sale in Khanom.... and this only because the developer of this resort constructed the resort as an investment, not because he wanted to work as a resort owner....it was contructed to be sold.... Price 120 million THB, or if you finish the contruction yourself, you can have it for 90 million THB.... if you can find other resorts or hotels in Khanom for sale, then I give you a free beer! :D:)
  5. Hello Samuians, I was wondering if there is a shop on Samui that sells motocross gear like goggles, jerseys and armour and if so, the location of it. I have been to Samui several times but cannot remember seeing one, it may have been that I wasn't looking for one specifically at those times. Thank you for you help.

  6. I am concerned for my belongings that aren't bolted down and some that are.

On Tuesday, one of my close friends received a phone call late at night from her family telling her that there was someone prowling around outside their house(she wasn't staying at home). Luckily for them they were armed, so if it had led to a home invasion they might have stood a chance. The next day, the noodle shop in front of their house reported that their cooking gas container had been stolen.

Last night my brother in-law, who has some construction equipment, had three batteries stolen out of three different dump trucks. The trucks are parked in an open garage on a well lit moderately busy street next to his house. Three large batteries are heavy and awkward to move around, but are, as my wife tells me, easy to sell.

My close friend's family lives a good thirty kilometers from where I and my brother in-law do, so I doubt that these thefts are related. I wonder are these thefts thefts of opportunity or are they planned. Up until this time I have left motorcycles and tools out in the open, because I thought that I lived in a very safe and secure area. Now, I'm not too sure and have begun taking steps to reduce my chances of being a victim. Has anyone else had any experiences lately of things being stolen?

  7. Kokesaat, the Amari Resort in Trang has great rooms and excellent food. Their breakfast buffet is the best one I have ever had. I haven't been there in a few years, so maybe it has changed.

  8. Please don't call me a liar. It is a fact that my friends and I have been bitten by sandflies on the beaches in Khanom on all occasions that I have visited Khanom in the past 4 years. I am also entitled to express my opinions about service, poor food and expensive rooms. I thought this forum was here for people to express their opinions without being called "ridiculous liars"? I could think of some things to call you, but I will refrain.

  9. Yes it is a little hard to get to the beach from a hotel in Bangkok. If you read the whole sentence you will notice that I include Phuket and Samui. Please don't tell me that it is hard to get to the beach from these places because I won't believe you.

Why is it that somebody always tries to make something appear better than it really is???

Worried, I should say so. Just look at that building project that is half complete and a year behind schedule. Thai Royal Residence, if I am not mistaken.

Lets sum it up: No Infrastructure, very little in the way of western food, the Thai food is Thai food(gaeng som anybody?), poor service, and to top it off, sand flies.
