Pavin has her/his knickers in a knot.
I pity the students having to listen to this clown.
Why because he teaches them critical assessment and independent thought?
Of course nobody with a fascist agenda would like that!

Michael Yon has always made it clear, he is a "pen for hire". Through his facebook page he asked for contribution to write for the anti government side.
He is not an "american". He is a professional writer hired to present one side of the story.
Agree but could you please just leave the word "professional" out!

Under no circumstances by CPAC roof tiles!
The quality is appalling and after sales service absolutely lousy!
They did not even show up for 3 month!
Only when a friend you lectures at CNX university made some pressure they showed up and guess - screwed it up even more!

They not say anything about the weapons found in Khon Kaen from red shirts to be used in terrorist attack in Khon Kaen? The weapons found at Aksa road at the Red shirt rall y ? And the US and other countries will support this and recognize this government in exile .?I thought Thailand had already 2 years a government in exile in Dubai nothing news this
For your information If opposition attacks a junta which has taken over a country illegally with force you are not a terrorist but are considered a freedom fighter!
Karma is a bitch violence always invites more violence!

Hahaha......Pavin Chachavalpongpun sends a message to Prayuth who "summond " him to report- telling the army chief he is busy and that he will send his pet dog to represent him instead!!!

Well looks like it's being considered now to establish a Thai government in exile!
Several countries have already agreed to host the government .
Prayuth did not see that coming 555!
If it is formed no civilized country will recognize his coup government and he can "govern" his army units!

Khun Sombat is a hero!
He would be great as next Thai PM!
He should start his own political party now - has already 58.000 followers on twitter and climbing - he can easily multiply that by 10 if he starts a Facebook page!

Great to see Sombat exposes the military coup as what it is - against the constitution and illegal!
The military has no legal authority to order anybody to do anything.
Next step should be now to establish a government in exile and challenge the authority of the military leadership with the backing of the international community have Prayuth and all involved in the coup arrested and charged with treason.
The military has the authority and it comes from the highest authority in the land, so don't start this mind bending exercise of what is not right and what is wrong The military are not acting on their own.
Which part of ILLEGAL COUP did you not understand?
It is only 2 words can't be that difficult?

LOL..."The Pentagon is reviewing military relations with its SE Asia Ally". What a joke. The US has been licking Thailand's boots for years now, trying to keep it's influence and not to loose out to China. Now they are trying to threaten the Thai military
If I was the Thai General, I would have the following message to the US and it's Western Allies..."DILLIGAF"?
You have no idea what is going on behind the scenes.
Read Musharaf's book.
Do you think the diplomatic niceties going on in public are what plays behind the scene?
If an ally becomes too much of a problem then they can easily be dropped.
Do you really think anybody here in South East Asia trusts the Chinese?
If you would be a Thai General you would be very quite regarding the US and it's western allies - it would take the US military probably a week to take over this country and run the Thai military out of their own country.

The illegal detention if the former PM is a criminal act and should be condemned by the worlds leaders.
Thailand should now be isolated from the international community until an elected government is in place.

Maybe they'll all be just as effective implementing change in Thailand as they've been in Ukraine, Syria, Nigeria, .
... the Shin era is history, that basically was it ... R Amsterdam and Carlyle Group are trembling - among others
BTW, is there an arrest warrant for Amsterdam for his speech on the red stage recently?
Why would Amsterdam care about a Thai arrest warrant?
Or do you think an arrest warrant issued by an illegal junta would be enforced internationally?

Great to see the world condemning the illegal action of the military leadership!
I hope sanctions will be introduced swiftly.
Thai resistance to the coup has almost started immediately yesterday and will grow in the next few weeks.
The Thai economy will suffer and this will bring more people into opposition to the junta and the puppets they will appoint as "civilian government "

"Under the plan, the junta will soon install a new government with a full mandate to have the budget to run the country,"
This is the most important part in the article - the heist on the money can now begin.
Most analysts are expected the Thai economy to shrink some even predict a recession. If an insurgency should be forthcoming similar to the south the economy is doomed.
Time will prove again that primitive intervention into to the democratic process with force will have disastrous consequences for the country.
Did the "general" really expect ambassadors to attend his meeting? No decent country will lend him credibility and have an ambassador attend his "meetings". He will have to do with the likes of Zimbabwe and North Korea!

Machine politics can be overcome over time if the people can participate in the political process. They can't be overcome when a minority hijacks the political process and prevents everyone else from participating. They finally got their "power vacuum," and it turns out their preferred plan couldn't work in the framework of the constitution they wrote and forced on the country in 2007. I guess they're going to try again. I don't think anything good will come of this.As of today, these students do not know how good they have it.
Hey, smart guys...... go home and come up with a plan to eliminate machine politics while keeping representative democracy.
A much larger service to the nation, so get with it!
Could not have said it better!

No they do not have to follow illegal orders!I rode around Chiang Mai today to see what changes were taking place. Everything fairly normal. I saw a few armed soldiers at a couple of locations. These kids, yes they are still kids in my way of thinking, as has been pointed out by others, are between a rock and a hard space. This is not their doing, but they still have to follow orders. We should show them the respect that they deserve.
A coup is illegal and unconstitutional!
Treason is another word for it- when we did our basic training in the army we had army lawyers instructing us that any illegal order any officer should give the order should be refused ( in peacetime) and the officer arrested on the spot and handed over to another commanding officer.
But of course I grew up in a democratic country - Thai soldiers would not be lectured on the legality of their actions!
One of the next orders coming from the coup mAkers will be a general amnesty for themselves for all the laws they are breaking!
What a joke!

I take my hat off to them for having the balls to go out there and protest in this touchy political climate.
Thank you for this comment !
It is not accidentally that Dhammasat university is on the forfront of anti coup protests considering their past and the fascist violence they had to experience will never be forgotten!
This is just the beginning more and more people will come out to oppose the coup.

Did People here think she would be afraid to meet the "general" hahaha"
She knows him well and always knew he could not be trusted - after all he is only somebody who has taken orders all his life - the Germans have a word for people like him - " Zivilversager "

There is more to this than meets the eye. Prayuth wants talks for months all of a sudden he suspends talks when he is due to retire to have a BIGGER mess?
I smell something else bigger here
One last heist?
When one of the 90'a coup maker generals died he left 4 billion behind it only came out because their was a family fight over the estate!
All saved up from his salary of course!

Joking right.
More than 500 people still at yellow protest site right now.
That's because Thai people have a thing for laws or rules - they don't like to follow them!
I asked some friends about the curfew - no idea - most told me when they saw uniforms on TV they switched off!
They communicate via social media And don't care what the army says!
Academic thumbs his nose at junta council

Why did the nation leave out the second part of his message where he tells the army chief that he will send his pet dog instead?
