  1. Yes been checking all folder and nothing, I was also expecting it in a few minutes.

I even tried the registration process again and it said that this email was already registered but still needs to be verifyed.

So I am stuck until it arrives.

Any thoughts of me trying again with an alternative email address but it will be the same name and passport details? I dont want to create a red flag on my details.

  2. Hi

I have just tried to register on the Online TM30 website.

I completed the initial details and submitted so that I could receive an email which would verify my email address.

I was expecting the email from <removed>to arrive within a few minutes but still nothing in my inbox or spam folder after an hour.

So I cant move forward on the TM30 unless I verify my email.

So just wondering how long it should take before I receive the email to verify my email?

Thanks very much for your help.

  3. Apologies if this is covered in another topic but I couldn't find a specific answer to my question.

Regards the process to convert from Visa exempt to Non O, I understand that normally I need a TM-30 form and/or

Rental Agreement between the Applicant and the Landlord; A copy of house registration. Location map of the house and a rental receipt Past three months.

But I plan to stay long term with my friend who has his own rental agreement.

So how do I provide proof of my address under these circumstances?

Can my friend's Landlord still sign the TM-30 even though it's my friend that has the rental agreement? This seems the easiest way but just want to be sure that there are no issues with this?

Or can my friend give me a letter to confirm I am living there and provide the rental agreement as proof?

I just want to be fully clear on how to show my address when converting to the Non O even though I don't have any formal rental agreement with anyone.

    Thanks very much

They do not cut the corner off the old passport page with the  visa on it

So visa is still valid you can enter carrying old and new passport ( i have done it a few times)

They can transfer visa to new passport on arrival but warning it really does or did P***s them off

They may just make go to your local  immigration to do it

    Thanks Poohy

Just to be clear, are you saying that the corner page would be cut on the rest of the old passport - but just not on the page with the Visa and Re-entry? And what about the page with the original Visa sticker?

i.e. if those pages are not cut there then they are still valid?

Or must the whole of the old passport remain uncut? Just want to be clear when I renew the passport what to request regards the old one.

I don't mind doing the transfer to the new passport at local immigration.

    Thanks

  6. Hi

I have a question about my current Thailand Retirement OA Visa which is still valid in my current South African passport

The latest Visa extension is valid until 22 October 2022. I have a Re-entry Permit Stamp also valid until 22 October 2022.

I am currently in South Africa for a few months but intend to return to Thailand before the Visa expiry date of 22 October 2022.

My current passport expires on 19 August 2025, so I would like to get a new passport whilst I am currently in South Africa as this will be much easier than trying to get a new South African  passport when I am back in Thailand.

So my question is what will happen to the status of the current Retirement Visa and re-entry permit if I get a new South African passport?

I believe that I can re-enter Thailand using the old and new passports - is this correct? Is this common? Would there be any issues at Thai Immigration at Phuket or Bangkok airports trying to enter with an old and new passport.

I still need to confirm 100% that I am allowed to keep my old passport when I get a new one but Im pretty sure that's not an issue.

So please can you advise regards entering Thailand with a new passport and my visa and re-entry stamp in the old passport. if you think there is any risk then I would rather use the current passport and renew it when back in Thailand even though that is likely to be a big pain.

Thank you very much for your help with this issue.

  7. Thanks very much to everyone for the replies so far, especially to Peter.

    Im 55.

I can afford the deductible if it makes sense financially i.e. depending on the amout of coverage.

It seems that I can go for just the very basic cheapest which as stated is pretty much worthless but will get the visa approved.

Or I can go with a "proper" policy with some real coverage. If the latter then Pacific Cross seems to be the one.

But any additional information is much appreciated.

  8. Hi

Apologies if there is already a thread for this but I couldnt find it!

This month I have to do my fourth renewal of my O-A Visa for Retirement, but I have been told I now need Health Insurance.

I see there are 14 official companies offering Health Insurance.

Can anyone provide any recommendations to help me select which one?

It doesnt have to be the cheapest but just overall best value and service for processing claims.

    Thank You

They just want to see they "actually" live there and not running a bar in that naughty area...?

I live in the middle of nowhere which the immigration officer seemed to know! So clearly they just want to check that I live where I say. All seems very unnecessary as I have to check in every 90 days anyway as noted! Keep calm and carry on ?

Would you be able to tell us where this happened?

This was at Phang Nga immigration. Visits for the extension based on marriage seem to be more common, but I think this is a new thing for retirement visa. Thanks for the other replies confirming it was a quick check on the address, But I am still interested to know if that was for marriage or retirement extension.

    Many had this.

Repeated reports/threads during the last months.

    Nothing to be concerned about.

What the purpose is for retirement extension?

I don't have an idea really.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually did a forum search for home visits but couldn't see anything relevant. As you said, my question was really why they would do a home visit for a retirement extension? If its a simple check up to see if I have supplied the correct information, then it seems they will need a lot of resources to check everyone out.

  12. I have just extended my visa for additional 12 months based on retirement. Everything was done as normal and my passport was stamped with the extension no problem. But the officer said that he will be coming to visit me at home and took my cell number and checked when I would be available. He didn't say exactly what was the purpose of the visit although I assume it is some sort of check up. I am not working and everything is legitimate, but I've never had this before.

Has anyone heard of this type of home visit? Do you know what they are looking for? Anything to be concerned about?

Any feedback or update on the retirement situation would be appreciated.
