Hey all,
Just trying to find a school for my girlfriend to learn to speak English, can anyone recommend one?
Our condo is close to On Nut BTS station (sukhumvit soi 50), so ideally it would be close to this location.
I've already called a few places located downtown and they seem to be charging about 300B/hour, which seems ridiculous to me since she makes about 300B/day in her job (which she'll be quiting once she finds a school to study at). I'm sure there must be cheaper options available, maybe not so central - which is fine.
Thanks in advance,
Gareth
PS. She just needs a "general English" course, to learn to speak/read/write; she's not gonna be going to an English University, so doesn't need IELTS or TOFL, or whatever it is.

Hi all,I would like to go to Kanchanaburi, but I've never used the bus system in Thailand before.I'm living in Bangkok... do I just go to buy a ticket from a travel agent? Do they all charge the same price? How much should I expect to pay?I'm in On Nut... is there anywhere close that the bus departs from? And do you know how long it takes to get there?Sorry for the simple questions, I just think I get more honest answers from you guys than a travel agent sometimes. Thanks in advance,Gareth

Not much to tell, really... arrived at the Thai consulate in Perth at 9am this morning with my passport, travel itinerary and a letter from my girlfriend in Thailand saying I was going to be staying with her for a year - and a scan/copy of her ID card. Paid my $225, collect the passport with visa after midday - very smooth tranasaction.Consulate is closing on the 14th of October, so be quick if you're planning a trip. The lady said there may be a new consulate opening in Perth next year when they could find a new person to replace the guy retiring (but that was just a "may").Gareth

That sounds logical...
I got my current non-O, in my UK passport, here in Perth, Australia... do I just go in to the consulate to see them about cancelling it?
Don't suppose it can be done the same day I apply for the new non-O, can it?
Thanks.

Hey all,
I have a non-o visa in my UK passport that is valid until Oct 20th this year, however, I'm currently in Perth and won't be flying back to BK until October 5th, so I thought I might get another non-o - this time around I can put it in my Australian passport if need be... is this going to be a problem?
Thanks in advance,
Gareth

I was about to donate some aid, then I saw this --->
Not sure I care to donate to people like that

Did they do this on a motorbike, or on foot?

The flats you're getting aren't just 'bad luck'. I'm a road cyclist (the tires I use puncture easier than MTB tires) and if I get a puncture more than once every 500kms I feel hard done by (I actually get them much less than this). Of course there are times you get 3 in 500kms, but once every 10-15kms is ridiculous. Everything other than the rim tape and rim/wheel itself has been isolated... so it's time to isolate the last two possibilities - start with the rim tape since it's cheap and if worse comes to worst, buy a new wheel. The fact that all your punctures are in the same spot tells us it's not just chance...
Your hard drives dying aren't bad luck, either.
