  1. There are some silly responses. It was obvious that he wasnt there for something trivial like taxis or goods being stolen. The fellow was sitting on the couch in a looking very submissive and alone.

In response to the poster that said if it was a Thai guy it wouldnt have been noteworthy. Not so, it was the persons demeanour and the fact it was open for all to see was what attracted my attention.

As Thanon Farang said, the senior policeman was sitting at the desk, he didnt appear to be saying much.

    It just seemed very wrong.

BTW, the Starbucks didnt have free wi-fi, which was the sole reason i got a coffee there.

  2. I was at Suvarnabhumi airport yesterday and saw something quite concerning.

It may have been on the second floor past the Starbucks coffee shop, but there was a Royal Thai Police office area and people are free to walk past and look in as the blinds are not drawn.

I saw a farang male aged mid to late 20s, sitting on a couch facing the public concourse. He was obviously in great distress, not in tears but close to it, and constantly holding his head in his hands. All else present were Thais, one that appeared to be an interpreter, high ranking police officer and two other persons.

It waa apparent that he was in trouble for something, possibly even being interrogated, yet here it was being done in full view of the public! I was in two minds as to whether I should have walked in and asked if i could be of assistance, but he may actually have been in the wrong, and I would have been seen as meddling.

Nonetheless, it must have been highly embarrasing for the young farang as well as very scary. I must have walked back and forth at least three times and he was still there.

one would think that preservation of face would have applied equally to this fellow, but not so. I have no idea what happened to him or if the situation was able to be resolved. If he was in the wrong, I dont envy the poor fellow.

In short, some compassion and common sense whould have been exercised. It clearly wasnt in this instance.

  3. Joy Perfume, by Jean Patou, is a classic and retails for $250 per HALF OUNCE. King Power may very well sell this...three bottles could easily equal the amount mentioned in the article, 22K baht. It is a lovely scent and a favorite of women. I received my grandmothers 1 ounce unopened bottle [stored away from the light] upon her death and relished every drop of it. I would never spend the money to buy that expensive a perfume. There are several others much more expensive but that is due to their packaging in Baccharat crystal.

No way some kids are going to wants some perfume that smells something like ya grandma would use. they are all into CK and the like. Not likely they would keep it unlocked even if they did have it.

    Something stinks here.

    Stinks. Geddit?
